I Would Really Like To Burp...

not on any acid reducers.. but i never had an issue burping before the surgery.. and when i went in the doc said that i had a herniated esophogus and so she repaired it.. she said that was what was making me burp so much before, but now i cant burp at all. . its just weird and well i need to expell the gas built up somehow. i have been taking the gas x which i think helps a little, but if i could do something more that would be nice seeing as how its the only discomfort i have from the surgery.
  5. gonna go for a walk in a little bit.. hopefully it warms up more.

  6. ok i think i have the dehydration under control.....today was actually a very good day!

  7. So here are my stats... im 5'7'', weigh 240 lbs, and im 28yrs old, bmi 35, and prone to strech marks... i was just wondering if anyone is in my age, weight, height range, etc... and how the weightloss has affected your ability for your skin to bounce back.. I am not trying to be vain but it was a serious concern of mine because i love to play sports and the chaffing might become a real problem so I am hoping that the elasticity will be good enough so that i wont have to get cosmetic surgery later down the road. Does anyone have any good recommendations as to how to keep the skin taught? As it is i put lotion on every day after i get out of the shower and exercise even tho is difficult for me after 4 knee surgeries i plan on kicking it into high gear once im able to move after the surgery. which is in 4 days. any help would be really wonderful.
  8. so i thought i was doing better ... and this morning i woke up with a pang in my stomach.. and when i sat down to eat a little i got nauseous almost instantaniously started dry heaving and i have been tired all day. i just can't seem to get in enough liquids. Someone please help.. what can i do?

    4 Days Post Op Vsg

    Thank u woo much
  10. Thank you everyone for your posts.. it really helps.. i like to think that since im half black half japanes i have really good skin since both age quite nicely.. lol, but truth of the matter i also have stretch marks, which in its own right means that my skin is not very resilient.. I am normally very good at workin hard when i do work out so i am hoping that gaining lean muscle mass and lots of cardio will help.. Is there anyone around my height weight? 5'7 240lbs... that had much issue.. granted i have a lot of muscle from all the sports that i play and really the fattiest part of my body now is my tummy. and inner thighs. i don't really have the money for plastics so im gonna do as much as i can to just get it tightened the old fashion way. i use lotion daily and i will try the Vitamin e thing.. thank you diva. hopefully it will make a difference.

2 Days Post Gastric Sleeve Surgery

thank you everyone for your good wishes... Kelly congrats to you as well.. i completely understand the gas.. its the only thing making my life miserable right now.. and i sleep all day too which i think is why i am not getting in enough fluids.. i think im starting to get dehydrated.. I wish i could sleep on my side i think that would help a lot but that is just tooo painful right now to even try. Thankfully i have been able to start moving some of the gas out.. lol.. but it seems every time i eat or drink anything i get that burning gassy sensation in my chest.... and i walk everytime i get up for at least 10 min.. it just doesn't seem to be helping.
  12. First off i just wanna say thank you to everyone that has wished me good luck.. and to all those that are about to get your sleeves done to for expressing your nervousness.. it really helped to know that i wasnt the only one goin thru this.. Im 2 day post op.. and actually im still in some conciderable pain.. the gas they pumped into me to make sure i wasn't leaking just wont seem to come out.. i can't seem to burp or have it come out the other end.. lol.. you know what i mean.. and im doing everything that i can.. i get up and walk for at least 10 min, im doing my breathing and getting in fluids.. the gas seems to be my only problem. thankfully i didnt have to have a drainage tube that was nice.. but i had to get stuck about 10 times cuz they couldn't get an iv started then when they did it exploded and my arm swelled a lot.. lol go figure. i guess it wasn't as bad as it could have been but they found that there was something wrong with my esophogus so they repaired it while they were doing the vsg.. so i have a little extra pain that i wasn't ready for.. I guess overall im doin ok my pain is getting a little less each day but until i can get this air moving im not sure when i will be pain free.. ANY SUGGESTIONS?
  13. today has not been good to me.. dry heaving .. nausea.. i think im having early signs of dehydration

  15. oddly enough my period was supposed to start 2 days before i went into surgery.. and it kinda started then stopped.. now 4 days post op aunt flow is in the building.. lol which suck.. like i need cramping to go along with the gas pains that i already have. Now i have never really been regular or even had heavy periods so all your responses actually help me too cuz i was on depo for 9 years never had a period so having one now is just sooooooooooooooooo weird..lol

    Loosing Hope

im sorry to hear of the trouble you are having.. i recently joined this site.. and everyone here is very supportive. I just got sleeved 4 days ago and if it weren't for the people here i don't know what i would do.. everyone helps everyone out. answering questions. getting support, and just having an ear if its needed.. i wish you good luck in your journey because it sounds like you have done the research and you have mentally prepared for the journey. Now you just need some tlc from those closest to you. My family was doing the same thing. they really didn't want me to get this surgery. and just as you i have been an athlete all my life even in college but after 4 knee surgeries its very hard to stay active. I have to admit its not easy trying to get support from family when all they can see is the negative, but they will come around. You just need to make sure that you are doing this for yourself and not for anyone else. If they dont like well then that kind of their problem and if they truely love you no matter what they will be on your side. good luck to you and i will keep you in my prayers!
  17. 4 days post op.. still in pain but gettin better each day.

  22. grrr.. im mad... i just wrote out this whole story and then accidently turned of my internet and it deleted the whole thing..... ok take two.. so i am deathly afraid of needles so im getting a little nervous about the surgery.. even tho i should be used to it by now since ive had 4 knee surgeries.. lol but anyways.. im going in tomorrow at 8:15 am and then my surgery is at 10 am.. im excited to get my journey underway... but i have been hearing people talk about having a drainage tube... i was wondering what it is and how long its gonna be there.. cuz im very quezy if i see blood.. any ways.. i have kaiser and no one has mentioned anything like this so im wondering is it something that everybody gets? some one please explain!
  23. congrats on your surgery.. sounds like you are doing fabulous... i am getting sleeved tomorrow and its a little nerve racking but after reading your post i am hoping that it goes well for me too.. i normally recover quickly from surgeries, but this is different from my knees so i am hoping all goes well.. keep us updated on your progress! and good luck on your new found loses... he he he
