  7. hey everyone, I thought maybe having a facebook would give us all a chance to be able to have real time responses since so many of us use facebook.. i also added myself to it so that i can chat just like everyone else as myself. so that its not to be used to write on each others walls but just to post in our own little community of VSG'ers... Anyways if you are interested here is the info name: losers bench email: losersbench@yahoo.com everyone is welcome to join if they want.. i think it would be a great way to keep up with each other without having to go into individual posts and also to help motivate each other to keep working out and eating right.
  8. if anyone is interested i made a facebook for vsg --- name:losers bench ---- email:losersbench@yahoo.com---- just thought it would be another way that we can get real time responses without having to go to different posts.. i still use this forum daily, but thought it would be nice since many people have fb!

    2 Weeks Today!

So today is my two week mark. I am officially down 15 lbs. And sooooooo happy.. i will keep this blog short and sweet. I have been going to the gym at least 3 x per week.. and im gonna kick it up to 4 starting this week, because i am afraid of the dreaded.. 3 week stall.. dun dun dun .. lol Anyways i've been doing zumba and free weights and paying close attention to my legs and arms since its about the only things i can do right now that dont hurt. I recently fell so im a little worried about the damage that i may have done so i am being really careful right now, and i will probably be going to the doctors soon to see if i screwed up anything. keep your fingers crossed for me. to date: starting weight 238.1 day of surgery current weight 224.0 starting pant size 18 current pant size 14-16 depending on brand goal 160
  10. thats a long time luckily they only made me get off mine for 30 days prior.. and i actually have no idea when we can get back on them.. anyone know?

    congrats you look amazing!
  13. definitely a crapy side effect.. i hope it doesn't stay like this.. honestly i was on depo for about 9 years so i am not used to having a period at all.. infact the one after surgery was the 2nd period ive had in over 8 years. I just didn't know if that was something i should worry about because i slipped and fell the other day.. i didn't know if maybe i ruptured something.. i haven't had any history of ovarian or uterian anything so im hoping im ok there.. but thank you everyone its a little more reassuring coming from others but i will bring it up to my gyno and see what she thinks.

    Crap!

sorry for the cursing.. but i think ima have to go back to the doctors..... i slipped and fell yesterday and i thought i was ok but all of a sudden im starting to have pain in the main incision where they removed the stomach.. so im sure that where the stapling is of the stomach as well.. and i am really hoping that i didn't rip open the staples but i definitely think i need to go get it checked out tomorrow, cuz i haven't had any complications really since i had the surgery... ive actually been pretty good since about a week out no pain at all and now all of a sudden after the fall i feel a little queasy and im having some sharp pains in my abdomine. dang it!!!!!
  17. i really hope i haven't sprung a leak! dang it!

  18. welcome to vst... the good thing about this site is you will have a lot of support!!! just remember to take it a day at a time. And congrats on the already lost weight and just know that you will have the support you need right here... My family was not so keen on the idea either but they are slowly and surely coming around.

Will We Have To Sip Forever?

im only 13 days p.o and i can already take decent sized gulps without a problem so i would say you should be fine.. some people just take longer to adjust then others i assume. i know i shouldn't eat and drink at the same time.. but i randomly have lapses in my memory and forget im not supposed to do it and do it anyways.. lol and after a few sips i go ...oh crap.. lol let me put that drink down... funny part is there isn't any discomfort when i do it so i have to really pay attention. Anyways, im sure it will get better for you over time.
  20. you look absolutely amazing!!!!! i just got sleeved 13 days ago and i am hoping that i have some semblance of your body by the time next year hits!!!! Out of curiosity... do you have the loose skin issue because it doesn't seem like it at all and i am really worried about that.. you just look so toned... and i really want that.

    2 Weeks Out!

tomorrow will be officially 2 weeks p.o for me. and so far im doin pretty well.. i don't seem to have any issues other than a little incision pain and the fact that i slipped an fell yesterday.. lol.. but in regards to gettin in the required fluids now and handling full liquids im doin pretty well... I think the Vitamins will really help with the motivation and to be active .. my b-12 definately gives me energy to get up and get to the gym, but the other half is you have to mentally tell yourself to get up and do something. I don't know about you, but ive been stagnant so long that my body automatically wants to be lazy.. and then i go .. screw you.. im getting up and doing something.. ive been a fat lazy blob for toooo long and im not gonna let it run my life anymore. If you need motivation i will personally send you a message everyday to see if you have done something. I actually wanna start a fb for our little family so we can have more real time talk.
  22. merry christmas everyone... hope you are all having a blessed day!

11 Days Post Op And Feeling Good

So I am 11 days post op and I feel really good. I can finally drink water without having that painful bubble feeling every time I take a sip. And I can finally get in about 50 oz. of fluid. I think the only complaint that I have is my incisions itch like crazy! Lol but if that is my only complaint.. I’ll take it. Moving on…. So I have been working out every day, doing free weights and cardio. Today I did ZUMBA… it was fun and kept me moving, but I think I pushed myself a little hard, cuz when I was done my tummy was a bit swollen…… I know I really need to take it easy.. It’s just really hard for me to do that because I’m such an athlete at heart that I just wanna get back into working out as hard as I used to. I NEED TO REMEMBER I JUST HAD MAJOR SURGERY AND I NEED TO TAKE IT ONE DAY AT A TIME! Well that’s all for now VST fam… hope everyone is doing well. Oh yea stats. Surgery day 12-12-11 Highest weight 270 Goal 250 Lbs. day of surgery 238.1 Current weight 227.2 I have dropped 2 pant sizes already

    Drinking

i think everyone is different it really depends on how your body heals.. just listen to what it tells you cuz i can assure you if your body doesn't like you doing something it will let you know. you will feel a lot of pain and bloating. lol. Im actually less than 2 weeks out and i can already take large "gulps" of Water, but i honestly think its because my body responds differently to surgery than most since ive already had 4 knee surgeries, my body just knows what to expect and recovers accordingly. i mean 3 days ago i couldn't even tolerate water, now i have no issues at all. So again it really depends on where your body is at in the healing stage. take it slow at first and when you don't get that bubble feeling or pain when you sip then you know you can do a little more.
