After surgery, they just told me to take a chewable that says "complete" so iron will be included. Thanks for the info!!
-
Maybe I would do a tic tac in case I swallowed it but nothing larger than that!!!!
-
I'm confused. You had 8 ounces of coffee and added 5 tbsp more instant coffee? and to 8 ounces of coffee you added 8 ounces of creamer?
-
Can you tell me if the Centrum chewables are large? Is it one a day or two? How do they taste? Thanks!
-
Yeah, Lissa posted the same about sugar free hard candies. Like if you accidentally swallowed it......she said that, and I haven't had one since. Just the thought was enough to scare the hell out of me!!!

Looking For High Protein Shots
Joni replied to shortypants's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I learned that about protein shots also. I gagged a couple down, and for what? A poor source of protein that our bodies don't absorb like whey isolate. Not only that, but someone here told me that collagen protein can be obtained from boiling cow hides. I was so disgusted I googled it and found that it is true. I like Lissa's idea, people should be warned. Even my NUT had told me they were okay to use! I need to educate her! -
I agree 100% with Dorrie!!! Take charge and advocate for yourself! Good luck!

Protein Powder You Can Mix With Water?
Joni replied to ShoeLover's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Good comment - yes, make sure it's whey ISOLATE. Also, Vitamin Shoppe carries the Nectar. -
Oh Kellie I know! One weird thing though, I love it most when I'm eating something - which is a big no-no for us. Doing the preop diet, the first couple days I was shocked that I wasn't missing my pepsi, but then realized, I wasn't eating anything and that was why! Did you just drink it by itself or mostly with food?

Great plan. Take charge and you will do it. God bless.

Pre-Op Hydrocodone....will This Cause Liver Trouble?
Joni replied to boots321's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was taking that for my neck problems. They didn't tell me to stop at all. In fact, they said that was one of the meds I could take the morning of surgery!! Your plan sounds like a great one, and you should follow their orders; but I wanted to let you know not to be worried at all! -
Protein Powder You Can Mix With Water?
Joni replied to ShoeLover's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I haven't had a problem with Nectar either. I have the cup with the wire ball, and they mix really well with water. I like the fruity flavors with water. -
yooohooo! Congrats!
-
Yep, you'll be fine. Just make sure you have a few days before doing liquids. Soon, you'll be sleeved!!

You'll never believe what I did today! I finished cat sitting at my sister's and was travelling home. I saw the golden arches and started thinking about a cheeseburger, fries, and diet coke. I tried to not pull in, but my car just went....uh huh. I ordered it. I think part of me just wanted to say it to see if I still could. I pulled over, took the bun off and took a bite. Then I tried a bite of fry. Then I tried a tiny sip of coke which seemed like MAJOR bubbles in it. It all went down okay. So I did it again. The meat went down. The fry was a turn off, so I spit it out. And the second sip of pop scared me cuz I was thinking about all that air. I threw the rest out. I'm not sorry, I'm glad. It cured me of wanting it anymore. I didn't get sick - thank goodness. So much for my pureed/soft diet huh? I came home and told my husband who said he had done the same thing after his sleeve! I never knew, so we had a laugh. What I do really want though is to one day be able to have a diet pepsi again.....

I want to just learn from you two and not experience the ugliness!!! lol. Yesterday I had quite a food day. Little bits of a lot of things - tuna salad, cocktail shrimp, steak strip with cheese, salsa, and sr cream, even a little piece of flat bread. I felt practically normal!
-
Kat - Make sure you have protein available for your flight and stops! I'll be thinking of you and rooting you on!!! You'll be fine, don't worry - I know there are plenty on this site that have done the same. Maybe you should post something for their feedback?

Ya know, I didn't ask today but NUT told me I could have fruits at 6 wks postop.
-
Oh no! Did you know you were full and kept going? I don't know what that feels like.
-
I took tylenol.
-
I miss my salad too. I had my 3-wk postop visit today and NUT told me salad can be introduced at 6 wks. Can't wait!!
-
Robin - sorry to hear about your snag. I was originally going to take 2 wks off, but I was and still am so easily fatigued and tire quickly, that I'm taking a full 4 wks off. I do know a lot of people went back to work very quickly, so it all depends on how you are feeling at the time. nannie - I'm so new, I'll be interested in hearing what others have to say about that.
-
Yes great news! Good for you. I had my 3-week postop visit today and was told I was healing nicely as well. No problems right now. They told me to keep doing what I've been so far. I've lost 23 since start of preop, so I'm happy with that.
-
Awesome news Kellie! I had my 3-wk postop visit as well and met with dietitian. They said I was doing great and have healed nicely. Gave me a prescription for Actigall to take for 6 mos to prevent gallstones. He was very pleased with my weight loss, and said to just keep doing what's been working. They really stressed exercise which I know, I know... He didn't give me any guidelines as to what I should weigh, just said the first 6 months is the rapid weight loss. I'm down 23 pounds since day of preop.
