Next Week Sleevers ? Or Anyone Whom Are Upcoming April Sleevers?
Joni replied to EnjoyingWhoIAmBecoming's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think that's pretty crappy of people to eat stuff like that in front of you. I know life goes on around us but geez. I would have wanted to get out of the car I think! Probably made you stronger though. One of the best parts of this preop thing is not dealing with food. I had spent so much time thinking and planning about what to make, cookbooks, on line recipes, and acutally cooking that it's a nice break from all that. My husband and daughter have been very kind with their meals. I froze some things ahead of time for them too. All I have to worry about is my diet pllan which is simple. If any smells get to me, I go in another room for awhile. I sure have noticed a lot of food commercials though!! Can't wait til 4/23!! -
April 23 for me. On my 2-week preop diet now. I thought Diet Pepsi would be the hardest thing to give up as I drank at least 32 oz a day, but it's been the easiest! What a shocker, then realized I never drank it alone - always with food. Since there's no EATING, I don't miss it. LOL. Coffee too - not as hard as I thought it would be. I feel sooo grateful about those 2 things! Good luck to all. Hugs.

I'm set for 4/23. Doing the wicked 2-week preop diet now. I swear it is the hardest thing I've done in my life. I am amazing myself though. I am so determined. I want this and mean business!! lol. I had to do the 6-month wait for insurance, so I actually started my journey last September.I'm sooo ready. -
Would he go for a couple counseling sessions? That might help. What you wrote was also very loving. Maybe write a letter to him saying those things and wanting to grow old with him. Leave it in his pocket or on his pillow. Which also makes me think about doing other little loving things to reassure him of your love for awhile? That's a tough situation. I sincerely hopes it works out for the 2 of you.

I hope you have checked with your surgeon's office about what you are doing? Good luck to you! -
I was hoping all this protein was going to make me energized. I had planned on spring cleaning the house and getting things set for coming home from hospital after surgery 4/23. However, I am tired and cranky. I don't feel like doing anything. Any suggestions or experiences?
-
I agree this is hard, maybe one of the hardest things I've ever done. I'm on day 4. Surgery 4/23. It makes me crazy thinking some people don't have to do anything. I have a set menu that I must stick to. 4 Protein shakes, 1 protein pudding, 1 protein jello, 2 V8 juice (which is the highlight), 1 applesauce, and 2 yogurt. That's it. I just wish I could go to sleep until the 23rd! LOL. I am surprising myself though because I know I am going to stick to this. I am proving to myself how bad I really do want this. I wish I wasn't so tired though.

April 23 - 4th day of preop diet. feel tired. seems still a long time away. Hate this having to suffer beforehand. Almost makes me angry. But I'm doing it. And I'm down 6 pounds this morning. Wasn't gonna weight til the end but something came over me....lol. I really wanted to spring clean this week, doesn't look like that's gonna get done now... Good luck everyone. WE CAN DO THIS. -
Where Are My April 2012 Sleevers?

That is too funny! I had all you can eat crab legs here in Chelsea before starting liquids! I live in Manchester - which is west of Ann Arbor about a 1/2 hour. But used to live in Berkley right by Beaumont on Buckingham St where Hartfield Lanes bowling alley was/is? I'm having surgery at U of M Hospital. I know Beaumont is excellent too. When do you start preop diet? -
yum that sounds good chacha. I was wondering about full fat vesus low fat/fat free. I was thinking the little bit that is used, what would be wrong with full fat mayo? I see a lot of info that says NO, but if I'm eating so much less, why shouldn't I enjoy it? Like salad dressing too. If I really want to enjoy a tiny salad, can't I have a teaspoon or 2 of full fat dressing?? Anyway, you also mentioned tuna a couple times. What do you mix with that? I'm on day 4 liquids and starting to dream about after surgery lol.

"the Hunger Games" Are Not Only Appearing In Local Theatres - Day 1 Pre-Op Diet
Joni replied to CHELL's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Day 3 for me. Had to go into the office when I usually work from home. Thank goodness I took a double protein drink because I was there a lot longer than I thought I would be. They want us to have Unjury Chicken Soup for dinner, and I hate it. Need to have another protein drink yet, and a cup of tomato or V8 juice....c'mon and get here 4/23!! -

Oh Arj1016 - I feel so sorry for you! I know that you are feeling regret, but the fact remains, you have made it to the other side. Hang in there sister, and I know what you are going through will soon be just a bad memory on an otherwise great trip!! Be strong! -

Day 2 for me. Wasn't hungry at all esterday except for wants a little but not bad. I was probably still full from eating like a maniac beforehand. I think the anticipation was worse than actually doing it. I have a headache I woke up with that I'm sure is caffeine withdrawal... -

I started at midnight!! I'm counting on others saying after the first 3 days we won't even care. I hope and pray that is truly the case. My cupboard has all my supplies. I have frozen foods for hubby and daughter to eat so I don't have to be involved in kitchen cooking - thank God! Made my high protein pudding. Will do the jello tomorrow. Good luck fellow preop-ers! Let's unite and be strong!!! The count down begins...... here I come 4/23. -
Good luck - I know you'll be fine and do great. God bless - let us know as soon as you can how you're doing.
-
Haven't tried it myself yet, but NUT said it's a good quality protein and to go ahead and use it. Hope that helps.

Ms. Fanny, I love when you tell someone guardian angels will surround them! I hope you tell me that when I have surgery on 4/23!! And I know they will surround you too! God bless you. -
Hi Paula - Welcome to the 23rd! Let's keep in touch...
-
Glad you're coming along okay - but sorry you're so tired. I already have a hard time sleeping so I'll bet I'll experience the same thing. Be very careful trying to mow and weed. I'm told I will have a 5-pound pushing pulling lifting restriction for a couple weeks, and that's not much. Take it easy for sure! Since we moved a few years back, I no longer can have a garden. The most I can do is plant a couple tomato plants which I love. I'm jealous!! Sounds wonderful. Take care

Welcome Sharonimo! Glad you're here. I'm getting sleeved 4/23 here in Michigan. Good luck to you! Thanks again for all the news and updates. I love reading everyone's posts. Liquid diet is getting closer..... -
I start my preop diet on Tues 4/10. I am totally depressed too. I am thinking about how long it will be before I can eat again and wondering if I've lost my mind! I know I have made the right choice. I want and need to do this, but my head is making me miserable right now. I totally understand and am so comforted to know others feel like this too. It fits perfectly that I am grieving food.
