    Almost Here...

Hi all! Oh that eggface is great! I am going to make the ricotta bake asap. It sounds so good. I'm thinking about buying an ice cream maker just to make her Protein ice cream. Yes Sheila, running after a 4yo would definitely tire me out! You must get exhausted. So glad you posted here again. notime, I'm 56 and work on the computer from home, so I don't have much to complicate my recovery either. And I bought some Celebrate MVI for postop. I considered them expensive but they taste good so I though I would treat myself for a month postop. They have everything and chewable Calcium too. I received a sample pack from them so I was able to try the flavors. dogmom - good luck going back to work. I used to work midnights but finally had to give them up cuz my sleep cycle got so screwed up and I turned into a walking zombie. Like you said, you'll be in good hands if needed though!! Have a great day ladies. I'm going to venture out with hubby to Walmart today. Hugs.

    Where are the 50s ???

Artsy - I'm curious, what do you mean single incision? An open procedure? If you have a single incision that can't be done laparoscopically can it?

    Arms

That's so funny but so true! I've used that trick. Thanks for the arm tip too!
  4. I would definitely call your doctor for their advice in this situation. They will tell you better than anyone here. Good luck. Hugs.

    Balloon Exercises ?

i think it's an incentive spirometry
  6. Yup it actually says on my papers, "You may feel like you are drinking/eating all day long, and you may need to in order to get your protein and fluids in." Sip, sip, sip. I also have no clue if I'm hungry or full or what.

    Almost Here...

That's funny because last March when my husband had the sleeve (same place as me - University of Michigan Hospital), he had to crush his pills for almost 2 months; and I remember how hard it was for him to choke them down. Now, this year they changed that policy and we can swallow pills right away. Go figure. So, it's another one of those "every surgeon is different" scenarios. Sometimes a pill feels like it gets stuck and hurts for a few minutes so you don't have that problem!
  8. I can't tell if I'm really tired, lazy, depressed, or what. I tell myself each day, tomorrow you're gonna really get moving - but I don't. Prior to surgery, I was pretty sedentary, just sitting a lot so that is what I'm used to. I did get outside and walk yesterday to the corner but that did me in for the rest of the day. I walk around the house periodically. It seems others are back to work, running around, shopping, taking care of little ones, etc. Is it time to push myself yet? I'm still off work until this coming Sunday 5/6, but I work from home on the computer so that's no physical exertion there. Did others take awhile to bounce back? How long? Thanks
  9. LOL - Ya know, I've always hated my teeth and was thinking since I can't eat yet anyway maybe I should go get them pulled and get a denture. I think I'll wait though......

Bump In The Road And I'm Worried.... :(

Good words above - put it in God's hands. I'll pray for you too. My friend had the daylights scared out of her like that too, and it turned out to be "artifact" which was just a stupid shadow caused by nothing. Be strong, and know that whatever happens you will handle it one step at a time. God bless and I send you a hug!

Where Are My April 2012 Sleevers?

Oh yeah, I want to guzzle the water too. My daughter used to laugh at me cuz I could down almost half the bottle at one time. Not anymore, baby sip, sip, sip..... Anyway, sleeved 4/23. All in all, doing well. Lost about 17 including preop diet. But need to get moving. Protein and fluids were a breeze at first and now the protein is going down super slow and not tasting the same. Weird that it would take 7 days to change on me. Can't tell if I'm hungry, full, or how much to eat. Still on full liquids and go to pureed at start of week 3. Glad to hear from everyone!
  16. I love you people soooooo much. I almost cried reading the responses of caring and encouragement. I slept for crap last night and truly am exhausted today, but I will get that walk in at least to the corner and I'll set a goal of trying to go a little further each day. It's going to be a nice day out so maybe I'll spend a little tme in the yard as well. Tomorrow, I'm going to hit the big Walmart and do some shopping for upcoming pureed diet. I have been getting in all my protein, fluids I thought were 64 but they're actually 70, so I'm going to up that. Thank you all for the wake up call!

Hooray - Nut Gave Me A Thumbs Up!

I'm tired today. Fell asleep earlier last night and woke at 5a kinda restless. And the thought of a protein drink is turning me off today.... can't wait to eat something substantial. Yogurt this morning, and that is sitting well.

    Confused?

I have to have a minimum of 64 oz of fluid/day and 70 gm of protein (for 2 weeks postop).
  20. My dinner plates look like serving platters for the whole family now! I'm going to go shopping too!!
  21. I loved your post. Thanks for sharing. I am 8 days postop and feeling a little sorry for myself. I haven't had any vomiting, but I am afraid of my sleeve and what I can and can't put in it (within the guidelines from NUT of course). I can't tell if I'm hungry at all, and I can't tell when I've had enough. It all just feels the same right now. I'm longing for foods I can't have yet. I don't regret this decision, I guess I just wish it would move along faster....your post made me feel better. Thanks again.

notime - What did you use to mix your egg and tuna salad? I was soo desperate last night, I took an inch piece of chicken breast and puverized it with some chicken broth and put in a pinch of regular mayo. I had a few very small bites and it was heaven. Sleevie had no problem with it either. I think I'm ready for more purees even though I'm supposedly 5 days away still.....

Yeah, the Pasta surprised me too. They didn't tell me to never have it though, just not for a long time. I think it's just because it's usually full of carbs, takes up space and fills you up when you need to be getting Protein first. I fell asleep at 11 last night which is early for me. It's now 5:30a and I'm wide awake. Oh joy, this is going to be a loooong day I think. I'm having a cup of hot tea and it seems to be a little soothing. Wish the protein could be made hot...Sleevie is not liking really cold things . Oh, and I woke up thinking about stupid pizza again.
