  1. I am almost 2 weeks Post - Op and I have not lost an ounce since my first appointment on Monday the 21st. Is this normal to have this happen so soon? I lost a total of 21 pounds to date to include pre-surgery weight loss! Just starting to wonder if my body just needs to play some catch up or am I doing something wrong?

    Weight Loss Has Stalled

It certainly does help to hear about everyone else being in my position! I knew that this would be happening from all the research I had done prior to my surgery, just did not expect it to happen to me so soon! Part of me is a bit paranoid due to I have struggled to lose weight all my life and then to already have it stop just frustrates me! I am vowing to stay off the scale the rest of the week! I will give it a couple of days and see if I have moved past this point! Thanks for all the support and the wonderful information everyone has shared. I am in love with this list already!! :coolgleamA:

    Weight Loss Has Stalled

Thanks Lissa for your response! I should claify that I lost 14.8 pounds pre-op. I gained some after surgery and have lost that weight already. My total to date is now 21 pounds. I keep reading about stalls and I guess I was just surprised that it hit so quickly. I see my doctor again on Monday the 28th and so I am sure they will have advice for me if I am still stuck by then. I am eating protein and working on getting an hour of walking in a day and also making sure I sip enough during the day. I am trying to learn patience early on now!! LOL

    Grazing?

I am a week post op today. I have been on clear liquids this week and am supposed to move to soft/pureed foods today. I will able to have cheese, yogurt, pureed beans, and eggs. I am supposed to have two meals a day and no snacks. I can have a protein drink at breakfast and then lunch and dinner, but no snacks!

    Gas & More Gas.....

I am 7 days post op and I am finding this morning that the shoulder pain has improved 99% over the last 6 days! There is hope you just have to hang in there!! :coolgleamA:
  7. I am one week Post op today. My Nut has me changing from a clear liquid diet to eggs and cheese and pureed beans this week. I can also add in yogurt. I have to do one protein drink in the morning and two meals a day. I am not allowed milk for my protein shakes yet.
  8. Hi I am new to this list! I am searching lists for people who have VSG Surgery. I have been following a list on Daily Strength that is for GBS. I just had surgery on Monday November 14,2011. I went in for a GBS and came out with a sleeve. I had a humongous hiatal hernia repair and due to adhesion's from a previous surgery years ago I could not get the GBS. I am doing well so far, and have already gone down 4.2 pounds since I was released from the hospital tuesday night. I gained just over 5 in the hospital so my total loss from the start of my Pre-op diet is now 19 pounds down. I did no research at all in to the Gastric Sleeve, and therefore am now starting to try and find out as much as I can about it! What advice would you give to someone less than a week post-op? Would love to hear from you.

Gfawcetti, the Humongous term in reference to the Hiatal hernia was the words my surgeon used to describe this to my husband when I went to recovery and he came out to talk to him! LOL

I love the worldaccordingtoeggface! I read her blog regularly! She has some fantastic recipes up on her page. I am doing well with getting in my water and my vitamins so far. I average about 70 ounces of water a day. I am also able to get all of my vitamins in by the end of the day as well. I am still on a liquid diet of water, non caloric clear liquid drinks, one protein drink a day, broth, sf jello, and sf Popsicle's. I can hardly wait until my diet progresses this next week.
