  1. Thanks for all your responses! I guess I was thinking about portion size, but you are right about the not as healthy options on the kids menu. I know I'll figure it all out!

    Cranky....pre-op?!

Yes!!! I think this probably happened to most of us! I was very irritable, my dietician actually told me to warn my husband/family before I started the pre-op diet that I could get very cranky. Felt like PMS! Lol

    2 Days Post Op... #@$%

You will feel a whole lot better in a couple days. The gas pains might stick around for a bit longer, but it you get up and walk each day, it will get better. I bought the powder boullion to make soup broth and it was WAAAYY better than the canned broth. Good luck!

    Food Funeral

Like PdxMan, I went out to a couple of my favorite restaurants the weekend before my two week Pre-Op Diet. I did not want to gain any weight before surgery. I stuck to the rules pre-op and have been complication free! No nasuea or anything, recovered quickly.
  5. I meant...3 weeks out and hit my first stall! A little frustrating, but hey, I have lost 13lbs since surgery, so I am good with that! That is 4 lbs/week lost! Yay!

  6. # weeks out and I hot my first stall! A little frustraing but I know it'll pass.

  7. I understand your frustration completly! I am in the exact same spot as you. I am 3 weeks post op and have been in a stallfor the past week. I am in the pureed stage, so I am getting tired of the foods, but have been getting in all my water and protein. I can't wait until the start of week 5 when I can eat fish, and eggs. I have been craving eggs!! I have started walking some more, so hopefully that will help. I just keep all reading the posts that say the stalls will end!!! Just keep doing what you are doing! We'll get there!
  8. I'm embarassed to admit, but yes, this has happened to me. Only once, but that was one time to many. :-) I think it was just my body getting used to having liquid only.
  9. I was sleeved on 11/21 and I lost 20lbs pre-op and another 12 lbs since surgery two weeks ago.....total of 32 lbs lost!! Yay!
  10. My dietician recommended Nectar Brand Protein Powder. I ordered a vaiety pack, my favorite was the Chocolate Truffle. It mixes reall great with water and tastes pretty good too!
  11. Congratulations! It is so exciting. I am 9 days post-op, and my hospital experience wasn't bad at all. I agree with what was mentioned above......get up and walk as soon as you're able. I was up at 3 AM walking. I've has no problems so far. The walking helps with the gas too. Good luck to you!
  12. Hi Everyone! I was sleeved 6 days ago, and although I am doing great getting in enough water and protein,my only complaint is gas pains from when they pumped me full of CO2. I have gas pains still in my chest/shoulders that is quite bothersome. I've been walking every day and trying to work it out, but it is still there. How long did it take for these gas pains to go away? Is it normal for this to be bothering me still? Or should I call my doctor? Thanks for your feedback....
  13. I am 6 days post-op and although I am not really hungry, I though I might ask how much water you are getting in? Also, are you drinking all your protein shakes first. My doctor said I can't have pudding, applesauce, or anything like that until 2 weeks post-op, but all doctors are different. Have you tried nibbling on suger free popsicles? I've had a couple of those, and it makes you feel like you are eating something more solid. But more importantly, the more water you can get down, the better. The protein shakes are alo important during this stage to allow your sleeve to soften and heal. Good Luck!
  14. I want to start by saying fisrt of all that I am very grateful for what I am about to report. I had my Surgery on 11/21/11, so I am 4 Days Pot-op. I have not had any nausea or heartburn. I have had a little gas (burps) but that is it. Yesterday was my first day home from the hospital and I was able to sip sip sip on about 45 oz of Water all day and I got in 69 grams of Protein with proetin shakes. I have just read over and over again that is is really hard when first out of surgery to get your requirements in. Although today an will aim to drink more water, I was just wondering how many others there are out there like me who didn't have any problems. Do I have anything to be worried about? I did follow the pre-op diet to a "T" and didn't cheat once! So I am attributting it to that and a positive attitude. Like I said I am thankful, and excited to officially begin my journey. Surgery 11/21/11 4 Days Post-Op 22 lbs Lost since per-op diet!

I know it is frustrating, but hang in there. The process can be lengthy, but soon you'll have it schduled and you'll be wondering, "wow, the time for surgery came so fast!" Hopefully they will get back to you on Monday, if not, I would just call and explain to them you need to plan for work and would like to have an idea as soon as possible. Gastric Sleeve Pre-op Torture

I just had my surgery on Monday, so I also had to endure a Thanksgiving PotLuck at my office last week while I was on my pre-op liquid diet. Just as suggested before, I just went in and socalized as normal, talked to my co-workers, although most of them knew I was having the surgery. I just kept thinking about how it was going to be after surgery, and how many calories I was saving!! Lol You will do great! Good Luck with the rest of your week. It gets easier! Congrats on your decision.
  18. 3 days post-op. Feeling great!
