I bought some roasted edamame, found it at Big Lots of all places, but heard they sell it at Walmart. Also, my favorite protein bar is Power Crunch Vanilla. Yummy. Do you like yogurt, our cottage cheese? Kroger makes a carbmaster yogurt that only has 4g carbs and 9g protein.

Just made these today for Easter. With the cheese and bacon, there is a little extra Protein. They turned out really yummy! 12 Hardboiled eggs 1/2 cup low fat mayo 4 slices of bacon (crumbled) 4 T. finely shredded cheddar 1 T. mustard Mash egg yolks, mayo, bacon and cheese until blended, then stir in mustard. Fill egg whites. Viola!

Results From My Endoscopy
Kristin replied to D1NOnlySexyLady's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was in the same boat. A large hernia, my surgeon fixed it while he did my sleeve surgery. It didn't change the recovery time or anything, and no additional pain. No worries! Good luck and congrats!! -
Eating Out... Restaurant... Fast Food.
Kristin replied to sabrina140's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
One crunchy taco from Taco Bell. One grilled chicken breast from KFC, I pull the skin off. The Chicken Ceaser Salad from Burger King is good and packed wirh protein. This is really all I've experimented with. -
My doctor has had me on Pepcid AC tablet since I was in the hospital. I just swallow one tablet in the morning and I'm good all day!

Bariatricpantry.com has these chocolate proti bars. To me they taste similar to a CRUNCH bar and they have 10g protein and 10 net carbs. Those satisfy my craving.....especially during "that time of the month"

Just like others have posted my surgeon told me no carbonation. With crystal light and water, I hand no craving for soda, but they did say I could let a can go flat, then sip on it and out would count a my liquid intake. I just don't feel the need. I was a huge regular soda drinker pre surgery. To me, starting back on soda, even if it if it is diet, will sabotage my progress. So why start? But that is just me....

Thank you so much!! I made these a couple nights ago. I made half the recipe. It made 6 muffins. They are delicious! They've kept great in the refrigerator. I am going to make them again and add a scoop of chocolate protein powder! Yum! Great recipe post! -
Abnormalities Found At Endoscopy
Kristin replied to diverdiva's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had an endoscopy the Friday before my surgery (surgery was on Monday). They found polyps during my upper GI. Luckily for me, the polyps were on a part of my stomach that was being removed, but my surgeon ordered the lab results back and I got them back literally minutes before I went in and everything was fine. I know every doctor is different, and I was so worried too that it would postpone my surgery, but my doctor assured me there was most likely nothing to worry about. Good luck! -

What Happens To Me After Eating A Meal
Kristin replied to Rico's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes! This has happened to me a few times. Yesterday being the last time it happened. For me it is exactly what the others are saying. I've either eaten a little too much and my sleeve is not happy, or, I eat/drink too fast. Yesterday, it was water I was drinking too fast and it happened. It's such a weird thing. Then I have to spit it out. My husband teases about it being "not very ladylike" HaHa! but definetly has to come out in order to feel better. You are not alone! -

How Many Grams Of Protein Are Your Doctors Suggesting?
Kristin replied to readyforachange's topic in Food and Nutrition
My doctor told me between 60-80, but at least 60/day. I stay around 70. Three months out and I still try top do one shake a day. Do do some of you further out still rely on shakes? -

Scared - About To Start Preop Diet
Kristin replied to Debvzw's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know it sounds impossibly difficult, but you can do it! Keep your eyes on the prize...the pre-op diet will help so much with your journey! My best suggestion is to keep yourself as busy as possible, and drink a ton of water! Congratulations on your decision! Good Luck to you! -
Are You Full Yet?
Kristin replied to ShouldBlittler's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can defintely relate to this concern. Before surgery, I would eat (A LOT) and I never felt full. In fact, when I ate a lot, it seemed like it would trigger me to eat even more. I rarely ever even felt that "full" feeling at all, even after a big meal (and dessert). Now, I really eat about 1/2 cup of food and I am done. The full feeling lingers, sometimes a little uncomfortably, until I am able to drink some water or something to make the full feeling pass. I am only 3 months out, but I never actually feel hungry now. I just eat because I know I have to. It is something you might ask your doctor about, but I don't think it is a concern. After surgery, your entire relationship with food changes. If you keep yourslef focused on the end result and the reason you are getting the surgery in the first place, you won't have any problems! I wish you the best of luck. Congratulations on your decision. :-) -
