Day Before My Surg. And I'm So Hungry!
Melly posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm excited to say that tomorrow is my surgery! I am on a clear liquid diet of chicken, beef, orange jell-o (can't have purple or red liquids because it will look like blood in the stomach) and water, water, water. I'm so hungry. The broth does help calm my growling stomach though. -

A Month Before Surgery, What To Eat?
Melly replied to Tana_Q's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Start getting used to better eating habits by eliminating fatty fried foods. Get on the atkins diet with no breads, pasta, or potatoes. My NUT also stated no peas or fruit either. Drink 72 oz of water per day to get used to doing that. Listen to your body at eat only until you're full. Eat 3 meals a day with 2 snacks that are high protein bars (I like power crunch protein bars - taste like wafer cookies, yum!) eat lots of veggies except for potatoes and peas, which are high in carbs (sugars). You will get a head start on your weight loss and also get more energy from not being weighed down by carbs. -

Ok, I see. They have me on the same diet as yours, only for 4 weeks! They want me to weigh 190 prior to surgery so that they have room to inflate me. (sounds weird, doesn't it?)

How Many Experience This From Their Husbands..
Melly replied to SunshineMom2's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
trust me, if you're not happy, your kids won't be happy. You deserve to be treated with respect. I was in a verbal and physical abusive relationship for years and made excuses for him when he didn't deserve it. I too was afraid to leave him because of my son, but trust me it was the best decision I have ever made in my life. It was hard, but I'm happy now with someone that does respect and love me the way that I deserve to be. Get skinny and leave HIM! -
