Scared About The Sleeve
Finding MeMe replied to FlawlessVictory13's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome, I believe many of us were scared at one time before taking this journey. I for one never had any surgeries never been under anastisia or major medical procedure I was one big scared chicken. Please educate yourself on the process and you will start to feel better about your decision. I know I don't regret it and wish I would have done it in my 30's instead of 45. I am very happy with my decision and would do it again in a heartbeat. Good luck to you. -

Pre Surgery & Pre Wedding
Finding MeMe replied to loveIzMe's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats first of all, it dependes on your current wt. size, your exercise regimen after surgery and your metabolism. Some people lose wt. faster than others and stall quite often, let's hope all goes well with the surgery and that you lose the wt. in a healthy way to get to the size you are seeking. Good luck to you. -
I'm Mourning Something Stupid.....
Finding MeMe replied to Queen of Crop's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't think it's stupid at all, I have some georgous leather jackets size large that I just can't give away to the good will. I also have some beautiful ball and evening gowns that no longer fit. I just keep them in my closet because I just can't stand to give them away. Maybe I will try craiglist but knowing me I won't do it. -
Well, I am having this debate with myself at this very moment. I am currently a size 5/6, small tops and small dresses and a little smaller than I look in my avatar.

Good luck in your search, it's hard to find a workout partner. Not to sound negative but many people don't like to bother and our schedules are often different. If you don't find a partner maybe you can find a nice safe park to walk in. High schools and elementary schools often open their workout tracks to the public and those places are safe, you can wear your Ipod and rock on. Good luck to you once again.

Finding MeMe replied to traulena2's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome, I am addicted to this site because of all the wonderful (computer friends) I have met in the last year. You will feel at ease here as well and good job with your wt. loss so far. -
I add a chopped boiled egg with a little relish, salt, pepper and two tablespoon of mayo (The low fat kraft mayo with olive oil). I then make lettuce wraps just drop the tuna mix/flatten it in the middle of my lettuce and roll it twice. Yummy, yummy, yummy.

Deflated & Frustrated
Finding MeMe replied to girlnamedNikki's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Be careful and think about head hunger. Are you experiencing hunger pains where your body needs food or is it in your head. Also be careful with your food choices because the unhealthyy foods we ate in the past will make you gain wt. and not lose as fast. I'm sure you know this so it is just a matter of practicing healthy eating choices and mindful eating. Good luck to you. -
My Life Will Change On August 29!
Finding MeMe replied to Dolly's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
It will change Dottie, good luck to you and get ready for all the complements as you lost wt. I thought some people would notice but not like this, my gym now wants me to pose for before and after pics. I don't think I will do it though. Anyway enough about me, I wish you luck in the future and hope your surgery is a success. -
Take small bites and wait a few minutes before eating another bite. These symptoms are related to eating too fast and getting your tummy too full too fast.

Has Anyone Over A Year Out Still Have No Hair Regrowth
Finding MeMe replied to june13sleever's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My Dr. said that the hair loss phase should last between 3 and 8 months. I am at 6 months now and I see a noticible difference in my hair loss. Not as much falling out in the sink I don't notice regrowth yet because my hair is tightly coiled and compacted. I'm just glad that it stopped coming out in bunches. -
Zumba Anyone? Is This A Good Work-Out?
Finding MeMe replied to Karen2012's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Good for you now watch that fat just melt off. -
I'm 45 and FABULOUS thanks to my sleeve I can say that with no hesitation and now have all the positive self esteem in the world. .

I didn't know that this discrimination still existed, this will only make you work harder i'm sure. Maybe you could try another gym or workout at home. With some small hand weights, an exercise ball and an exercise mat you can work up a sweat.

6 Weeks Post Op! Best Workouts?
Finding MeMe replied to Singlemama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Recommend a zumba, step-aerobics or spin class. To tone up your total body I recommend a bodypump/group wt. lifting class. On average you will burn around 600-650 per class in either of the classes mentioned. I forgot to mention a curcit training class and you can do your own curcit training. 10 min on eliptical, 10 min on threadmill and 10 min on wts, do this for two rotations and you've burned 800 caories BAM..... -
Dealing With Knee Inflammation- Any Suggestions?
Finding MeMe replied to Dooter's topic in Fitness & Exercise
OK here is my opinion, about two years ago I had an issue with inflammation of the knees mainly but also elbows and hands. Well it turned out that I was allergic to wheat, who would think that after 43 years of eating wheat I was allergic to it. I got tested and yes I had a wheat intolerance, I also found out that one out of every 5 Americans are allergic to wheat/gluten and don't know it. Once I stayed away from the gluten my symptons (leaky gut, tummy issues and inflammation) got immediately better. Recommend to do a google search for gluten and inflamation and see what you find. Good luck to you and I wish you well. -
The Fine Line Between Acceptance And Making Excuses
Finding MeMe replied to Globetrotter's topic in The Lounge
Like others said you have to find the right balance for you and your body. I for one don't count calories, use real sugar and real cream in my coffee and eat fast food every once in a while. However, I eat in small moderate amounts try to stay away from the cakes/cookies/ice choclates, etc. I do however exercise mostly 5-6 days per week at a moderate/high intensity so I am burning lots of calories when I work out. (spin, zumba, bodypump, step aerobics, urban hiking, a little threadmiill work and wt. lifting) so there is no need for Me (only for me) to count calories because my body is burning what I put into it. -
The first two weeks were the worst for me. I was in pain and a big baby the whole time. But in three months it will feel like a bad dream and the results is so worth the pain.
