Add onions and green pepper, (drain to remove excess oil) Add all canned items, including juice, into large pot. Cook until onion and pepper , beans are tender. Serve. and enjoy Freezes nicely! -

Can I Just Say That I Love Wendy's Chilli
Finding MeMe replied to rodswife's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes it is. I also have a "copy cat" recipe which makes it extra healthy because I make it with ground turkey/chicken and black beans. -
Again, good luck but I think you will be compromise and use the MTF side of medicine and I hope you have a good experience.

I'm Certain That Vsg Will Kill Me.
Finding MeMe replied to kimmr's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I think you need to research your decision a little further. -
Gingersnap, Can I ask why are you are afraid of the military side of medicine? After 25 years in the military I find that doctors/health care providers are very professional and caring. They don't want to lose patients or give shoddy/sloppy care because we are military or military family members. They are just as professional as civilian care providers in state of the art facilities. My surgery was done here at JBLM and my surgeon was a COL Rush, he did 100's of GS surgeries and has never lost a patient. Tricare will provide the procedure if you are close to an MTF, if you are hesitant of military medicine then I recommend self paying. Many GS patients have went to Mexico to get the procedure done. Good Luck on your journey.

Unhappy With Life
Finding MeMe replied to Joiebean's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's time for assertiveness training. Time to put your needs first, tell him what you plan to do and stick with it. You are working making money and if you choose to take a class so be it. He will get over it, if not move on. Good luck with counseling but hubby needs to know that you are serious. -
6 days a week and sometimes twice a day for an average of 90 minutes, but I've been in the military my entire adult life. You are doing great, we should strive to workout most days of the week. I agree with Lilmissdiva on hydration and starting off slow.

I'm Already Sexy.. Should I Get The Surgery?
Finding MeMe replied to SkinnyOnMe's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, looking sexy has nothing to with the underlying factors of being overweight. Obesity is kiilling us and our children, I decided to get the surgery at 248 the heaviest in my life because I needed to do something. Now I am 198 lbs size 7/8 sexy as heck but almost 200lbs is still unhealthy so I will lose 30-40 more lbs. Good luck. -
Try USA jobs.com, VA or Boeing, they are hiring. For a lot of these you have to be willing to locate, don't know about management position with Gov jobs the goal is to get in the GS system first then promotions to management, etc. Good Luck.

Can Army Veterans Get This Procedure?
Finding MeMe replied to Benjamin Prez's topic in Insurance & Financing
Yes I am retired Army and I was covered by Tri-care. If you are a vet and authorized care at VA facilities then you are covered. I believe you have to have at least a 30% disabllity for VA to cover the procedure. Good Luck. -
You are a MENTOR to me and countless others. Please do not let a few "know it all's" ruin it for countless others who need your input, guidance and experience. I look at many new people joining and questioning the decision to get sleeved multiple times a day. Again, your experience and voice is needed and an asset to many folks.

I still can't believe it either papa jack. I went to the outlet stores and tried on a size 10 jeans from the Gap. I tried on an Xlarge shirt and it was too big. I came out in shock and told my hubby I am a size 10, I need to slow down. I went from an 18/20 to size 10 in 2 months.

I agree, he motivated me to buy a juicer and I have been juicing every day for the past three months.

Finding MeMe replied to koriswlj's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Good job, keep it up. I am at 45 lbs down and my hubby loves the new me. -
Remember that food was your best friend and you have to say good bye. I too loved food and didn't want to break up with it but for my health I had to. The good thing is with my sleeve, I can''t over eat., I tried to one day but it quickly let me know that it was not having it. When full stop eating or I will act up.

Finding MeMe replied to Sleeve2B's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
When my granddaughter who haven't seen me in a while said "grandma you look pretty". I said thank you sweetheart, I also went shopping with my daughter and we now wear the same size. had to buy the smaller size because I am still losing. I love my sleeve........ -
I started back going to the gym at 2 weeks and you will fit more fluids in as time goes on. I am at close to 6 weeks and can almost fit 16 oz during my one hour spin class. You are correct it feels sort of tight and it almost dosen't want to stay down. I continue to slip slowly and slowdown or stop to drink.. Good Luck.

My Day In The Emergency Room - Likely Vitamin Related
Finding MeMe replied to Amanda 3.0's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sleeve Guru, I too could not tolerate the Celebrate multi or calcium citrate. They literally made me gag on several occasions and I said no more. I then read a few posts on nutrion and supplements and decided to start taking the vitafusion gummy multi from Walmart. Now I love taking my multi daily, these muti vits are so yummy. I also stopped taking the celebrate calcium citrate and purchased Caltrate (calcium citrate) from Walmart. Since they are a little big for my tummy, I bought a pill splitter from walmart also and cut them into four pieces which makes go down too easy. Good luck.
