JULY 2014 SLEEVERS GROUP
pegcrain replied to SMED0308's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've lost 3 lbs. this week! Most days are ok....I'm on thicker liquids (yogurt, shakes, SF pudding, oatmeal). Very interesting how differently the introduction of liquids/foods is among the contributors in this site. How someone is eating eggs 2 days post sleeve boggles my mind! Had to start taking prilosec and levsin again...applesauce set me off and made the rest of my day unhappy. But this too shall pass! Thursday I start mushy food (bananas, baked sweet potato!!!) Keep your eyes on the prize!!! -
Congrats!

I have a kind of funny question
pegcrain replied to mentalistfan's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got my sleeve on July 21. I was laying on the gurney, totally psyched, waiting for the second surgeon to arrive when suddenly I thought, "Oh my God, what am I doing here?" I told my sister and she asked the nurse to give me the good stuff..to relax me. Everything has been great since then. That was the only trepidatious moment I had! -

I've been very lucky/blessed since my sleeve on July 21. No pain, no nausea. I've lost 14 lbs since my initial consult on July 8 (but they didn't weigh me on surgery day). They took me off all HBP meds as my bp was 111/65. Also off all stomach meds unless I feel the need for them. I heard my personal thermostat would change but I did not expected to happen so quickly. I've always kept the air at 72 or 73 or 74. But now I'm keeping it at 77! Sometimes I do put the ceiling fan on but I never in 1 million years thought I would be keeping my thermostat at 77°! -
OK Girls.. what the heck is the story
pegcrain replied to intelirish's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
One friend of mine, who is 3 years post op, said the girls were finally beginning to look normal! She's never breast-fed so she hasn't experienced the deflation. Yours might not get smaller...some would be very envious of you. When you reach your goal weight, and have been there for a year or two, that's when you should consult a plastic surgeon and talk about breast reduction. Me? I'm definitely looking into having the girls put back where they should be and maybe even implants! But that's YEAR'S down the road!! -
5 weeks today and only down 19 pounds since surgery....seems slow

Don't "only" on yourself! Every pound lost is a win! Are you exercising? That should DEFINITELY help! If you are exercising, try adding a new exercise to your plan. -
Husband says no to me having surgery!
pegcrain replied to Mich4351's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
My husband, too, didn't want me to have the sleeve...he felt it was an unnecessary surgery. But I did it anyway and he came to the surgical center and was with me and is very thoughtful of me. So he rose to the occasion! Yes, he was worried because it is surgery and didn't want anything untoward happening to me. He will reap the rewards of this surgery for a long time to come!! -

I am 2 days post op! No problems so far! So excited about this life style change! -
If you get too nervous when you're waiting on the gurney, ask them to give you something to relax you. I was laying there, waiting for the assistant to show and suddenly I thought, "OMG, what am I doing here?" Even though I was excited about it. So my sister asked the nurse for the good medicine. Post-op, I was very groggy the rest of the day. You'll get ice chips...chew and swallow them ONE AT A TIME!!! They wanted 4 little medicine cups an hour, if possible. Do not be afraid to ring the nurse for anything....that's what they're there for! Good luck! I hope you have as wonderful an experience as I am.
