Anyone Disappointed In The Amount Of Weight Lost? Wish It Was More?
scgal replied to emmas mom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I definately hoped to lose a little faster than I have, but I'm not dissapointed. I am glad I had the sleeve done and it has made it much easier to get a perspective on how much food I was eating. I've only lost 35 lbs in 9 weeks. It seems I have a stall every other week, then only lose 1 lb. I do everything by the book and it is still very slow. I have bad days occasionally and need to vent, but most days I'm positive that I will get to my goal no matter how long it takes. I also try not to compare my results with everyone else's....I'm in my 50's and won't lose the way a 20 yr. old does. -
I am in need of size 18 career tops and pants. I am 5' 8" tall and 45" bust. I live in SC but would happily pay for shipping. I have size 22W tops and pants. Thank you!

How To Find Peace With Your Sleeve When Over 50!
scgal replied to SandSandles's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I really appreciate your post! I am also over 50 and knew having the sleeve was not going to be a "miracle cure". I've battled my weight for 30 years and have gotten so discouraged at losing at a snail's pace, just to put it right back on the minute I had a "normal" meal. I've gained weight on 1200 calorie Dr. prescribed diet!! I've learned so much about my body in the past few months, and I will have to work this sleeve like crazy to get rid of the pounds...then I will have to deal with the maintenance issue. I am eating a clean diet of mainly protein and fresh veggies with extremely low carbs and no sugar. I feel so much better knowing that I am not alone in this! -
can you say jealous? :ciappa:

megannadine, I had my hubby take my first picture today! I have always had trouble "seeing" any weight loss that I've had, so this should help my mental picture of myself as I start shrinking.

Thank you for sharing your story! All of the things that have changed for the better is inspirational. I will have my sleeve done next month and can hardly wait to be where you are! Congratulations!

I am scheduled for Dec. 8 with Dr. Ramos-Kelly. My kids are grown and live out of state, so they won't be home for the holidays this year, so I will start my pre-op diet the day after Thanksgiving...I think this will be the most wonderful Christmas present I have ever received

Thank you for sharing your story! Go Gamecocks!! -
I am planning a VSG procedure sometime in December. I haven't booked it yet, but thinking just before Christmas (I am waiting on my passport). It will be with Dr. Kelly in Tijuana, MX. I live in Charleston, SC. Anyone having it done in Dec? I would love to have a buddy to go thru it with.
-
Plane tickets bought, date from the Dr. (Dec 8), paid my deposit this morning, got a buddy that is also going alone...wow, it's starting to feel real. It's been in my head for so many years and never really thought it would become a reality. :biggrin5:
