Had Surg Monday 2-6, I Can Drink Just Fine! Kinda Scary!
AllForMy4 replied to mommy794's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are healing great!! I healed pretty fast too(had my sleeve done on jan 25th) I have had no nausea or vomiting or anything the whole time. I took liquids fine, except of course, not being able to fit more than a couple ozs in my sleeve at a time. As long as you aren't trying to put things in your new sleeve that aren't supposed to be there yet,I wouldn't worry about accidentally hurting yourself. My doc told me to walk as much as I could but to rest when needed too. No lifting, pushing, pulling over 15 lbs. Congrats on your sleeve!!!! =)) PS-I found it really important to continue with the gas x chewables and prilosec for gas pain and heartburn. The gas pain is the worst out of everything in my opinion. -
Hey there!!! Welcome and congrats on your decision to be sleeved. I was sleeved on January 25th 2012!!

Congrats!!! Welcome to the losers bench!!!!! -
Letting my babies take a late nap today just because. =) I LOVE the fact that everyday for the last couple weeks I have gotten lots of "I lub you"s out of Elijah, along with lots of hugs and kisses!!! Love love love that he is expressing his feelings, and that he lubs me of course...lol. Now we need to work on keeping him calm while we have guests over, thats a big one,but we'll get it right, just like everything else. Thankful for God and all the blessings he has given me.

AllForMy4 replied to readyforachange's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congrats and welcome to the losers bench!! =)) I agree with the others that the extra weight is def fluid,it will most likely come off within the week. I had alot of extra fluid as well but have now lost 14 lbs since my surgery 2 weeks ago. The way to put your ticker or facts below your posts is to: Go to your profile and on the far right side click on "EDIT PROFILE" It will take you to another page,on the far left of that page, you will click on "SIGNATURE" This is where you can put your facts as well as your ticker/the code for it. Good luck and congrats again!! You're gonna do great!!! -

Two Weeks Out And Feeling Really Full
AllForMy4 replied to Dania621's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Girls,I am in the same boat,I am 2 weeks out today and the scale has been stuck for almost 5 days now. I am only eating about 4 ozs of food a day, tops! I personally feel (in my case) it has to do with maybe not getting in enough protein and fluids. I am walking for about 30 minutes a day. I can only fit in about 35 ozs of fluids, and maybe 40 grams of protein. Btw,Have u guys tried Sobe lifewater 0 calories?? YUMMO. I love the black and blue berry and the macintosh apple cherry. They have vitamins in it and are so yummy. =) -
Not Even Two Weeks Out And Already Stopped Losing! I'm Not Even Eating!
AllForMy4 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm not even able to get more than a couple bites with a baby spoon in me in a 24 hour period. It fills me up. So,I mainly have been sticking to water, gatorade,my protein shakes and vitamins, and browsing the web for yummy full liquid and mushie recipes for when I can eat. I haven't weighed myself for a few days, well I get on the scale this morning and I've actual GAINED a lb! I'm not even two weeks out from surgery! What am I doing wrong? This comes after me losing 14 lbs since surgery on January 25th! I appreciate and love the surgery, along with the lbs I've lost so far...just wondering if anyone can provide any insight as to whats goin on. -

Thank you all for your respones. I think I need to let my husband hide my scale again. lol. I made a promise to myself to keep it away and I broke that promise. Then when I see that I am not constantly losing,it's discouraging, but it shouldn't be bc I know that the weight has to come off sooner or later.....I am only getting about 300 calories a day right now so I'm sure this is just a lil bump out of many to come but that we WILL get over. =) -
This is a full liquid recipe. Great for vegetarians but I love it and I hate vegetables. It is spinach (it won't always be dangerous LOL!) but you can change it to broccoli, beets, asparagus or even carrots. The regular recipe called for light cream but we used 1% (skim would be too watery, don't use skim) and served 8 people. DH cut it in half for the 2 of us. It can be frozen into individual servings. Cream of Spinach Soup Serves 8 people (but you can make half recipe easily) 5 Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and roughly chopped 2 lbs. fresh spinach 2 yellow onions, roughly chopped 3 garlic cloves 1 cup light cream (use 1% instead not skim) 1/4 cup grated Romano cheese 2 tablespoons butter (we used Olivio spread you can use whatever you use instead of butter) Salt & pepper Pinch of nutmeg Water Melt butter in a large soup pot. Add onions and garlic and brown for about 10 minutes. Add potatoes, nutmeg, and enough water to just barely cover the potatoes. Simmer until potatoes are soft, about 20 minutes. Remove from heat. Add spinach and let sit for 8-10 minutes until spinach wilts. Puree in a regular blender. Add cream, cheese and season with salt & pepper. Heat and serve.

I was looking for half and half in the store today and couldn't find it! =( Will venture out in a few days to try again. =) -
Found this recipe while searching for full/soft foods recipes. Def trying this soon, sounds great! Really Good Cold "Tuna Fish Sandwich" Soup 1 Hard boiled egg (chopped) 4 Green onions (just the white part) chopped fine 1 Dill pickle - small chopped fine (dried dill weed would do the same) 1/2 seedless cucumber, skinned, de-seeded, chopped fine 1 C low fat or no fat plain yogurt Celery salt White pepper Dash white worcestershire (optional) 1 close garlic or squeeze from "tube herbs" (optional) 1 scoop unflavored Protein powder (optional - don't use with salmon recipe) Mix all of the above in a blender, then add either- 1 can of Water packed tuna drained OR 8 ounces cooked salmon Chill to thicken YIELD: 3 CUPS (Approximately) We did this with the tuna first and I loved it. He made grilled salmon for himself one evening and at my request made it again with salmon. With the tuna, he made it with unflavored Isopure Protein which kicked up the protein a lot. We didn't think that the salmon would stand up to or needed the protein powder. The egg is absolutely essential...it evens out the flavors. Here are the nutritionals on 1 cup Tuna Soup with the protein powder: Cals: 190 Fat 6.4 g Carbs 5.6 g Protein 26.4 g Here are the nutritionals on 1 cup of the Salmon Supreme (no protein powder) Cals: 226 g Fat 9.3 g Carbs 8.3 g Protein 26 g

I can't wait to go hit up Ross tomorrow! =) Make that monday since superbowl is tomorrow....hehe I so agree on the wanting to look good everyday now! I have only lost 14 lbs since surgery but 24 total since October and can see it in my face ALOT! It makes me want to dress nice and go for walks with the fam where as before I would do the whole t shirt thing and never wanted to go out. I felt like an embarrassment to my family. It's like, now that I know the weight is going FOR GOOD,I have so much confidence, there can only be more in store. =))

Cool! I will wait then and go hit up Ross and TjMaxx! I am happy to hear they can be worn even while losing weight quickly! Thank you!

You are beyond awesome!!! Good luck on Monday!! You will be suprised at how fast the weight comes off! I was in 24's(loose) and now I am needing the 22's,and will be needing the 20's soon I'm sure. I was just sleeved on Jan 25th! I can pay you for the shipping, thank you soo much! Not in a huge hurry. If you can't get them out b4 your surgery, don't worry! -
I am 5'3" and started out at 268,on day of surgery was 254,now(10 days later )I am 240. I know the weight is gonna come off fast as it already has started. I'm only 25 but I really don't wanna have too much saggy skin. My odds are bad since I carried 4 kids,2 being a set of twins that were 7 pounds each at birth! They did a number on my tummy! I just ordered a Proform treadmill off hsn for 5 payments of $139. I plan to work my butt of on that as soon as I heal enough. Gonna do 30 minutes to an hour a day on the treadmill. Crunches, push ups when I can bc I haven't been able to for years lol, and lifting arm weights up and down. Also,I am going to look into getting compression garments and shapewear. I have Nivea firming lotion with Q10. It is awesome. I don't really know yet if it will reduce the amount of saggy skin since I haven't lost all THAT much weight but I know it is just so awesome! It makes my skin feel firmer and so so much healthier. I will never stop using it. I also know that getting as much liquids in,keeping up with your vitamins and proteins also wouldn't hurt in fighting against the saggy skin. Good luck on Monday!!!!! You'll do great!!
