5 Lbs To Goal At 7 Months, My Lightweight Story (Low Bmi)
dreamy posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
139 lbs, 5'7 (slouching) is the current number. 188 was at surgery. Barely qualified. Ate like a pig the last few weeks to make sure I made weight. I have not worked out yet. Just yard work and walking. First three months after surgery I over ate all the time. It was hard to break that habit. Was punished a lot by sleeve. It is just now that I am use to eating just a little, and don't try to stuff more in. Weight is really falling off the last few weeks because of this. Have had two big stalls, about two weeks each time, but did not sweat them, knew they would break. I occasionally have a glass or two of wine, and I drink two shots of espresso with steamed whole milk froth everyday. Water---no sodas-ever, and unsweet tea most of the time. Chicken sits like a rock, actually hurts my stomach. I had filet today from Ruth Chris, and it was fine. In general I don't like meat. I am so thankful that I got surgery early. I think it has been easier because of it. I know I would not have lost the weight on my own. I am much healthier now and feel very good about myself. I still snore, but I think apnea is better. My only concern is that I start leveling off in the 120's. I have been in the 110's and I look super skinny at that weight, so I don't want to go there. If you are a light weight, low bmi and wonder if surgery is for you, I hope my story and journey helps. I has been easy and soooo worth it. -

Thanks guys--hope it helps those just starting and those exploring options!!! -
Hi--I itch, especially when I get in the sun. I have read that a vitamin B deficiency will cause this, so I am planning on a B-12 shot since it is quickest and most effective. I know I am not getting my needed vitamins. It is a weird prickly itch.

3 Months Out And Sick To Stomach
dreamy replied to crazycatlady8's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am exactly where you are!!! Matter of fact, I was looking for a post like this to see if there are others out there that feel this way too. I just ate one small taco al carbon an I feel so sick to my stomach. A pain like my stomach is real upset. It is this way with all meat, fish chicken... The only food that doesnt hurt is carbs. It will hurt for about 30-40 minutes until it has been digested. An incentive not to eat... but I find myself nibbling on the bad stuff. Still losing weight, just can't eat meat. I am not worried though, the pain goes away, and I tolerate other food fine. -

I do-- send me your address. -
I stall every 15lbs lost. No matter how long it takes to lose that 15, it just stops there for about 10-12 days. I have stopped weighing every day to just once wwk. I need to focus on the positive of trying to get good protein, but i'll take bad if i have to, and some days my sleeve wants to be nothing but bad where only crap goes down well. Good thing it is only small amounts of crap.

"low" Bmi--Are You Likely To Loose Too Much Weight?
dreamy replied to seansmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i was right at 30bmi at surgery. 187lbs to be exact. I am 155lbs at two and half months out. I am 5'7, and am shooting for 135lbs. I figure the last twenty will be slow, but I have six months of the "honeymoon" period left to lose it. That should not be too hard. BUT my husband is concerned about me stopping because so far the weight has been falling off without much effort. -
Upset Stomach - 8 Days Post-Op
dreamy replied to ocean_ophelia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been "loose" ever since surgery. Not crampy, just runny. Does not matter what I eat. I think it is all that excess acid. I am getting use to it, and trying to stay hydrated. It helps a little when I get some solid protein in, but it is a small improvement. I too hope it goes away, but I am starting my third month, and so far it has been a problem. -

46lbs Down And They Didn't Notice?
dreamy replied to his2my2our4's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I will be 30+ pounds down at Christmas and I can guarantee you my sil and brother won't say a thing. Mind you that this the same two who said NOTHING to me after i had a total hysterectomy, remodeled a one story house to two stories, and walked in to my new house and did not utter a word. I know what their problem is...and it is eating them up from the inside out. Yours are probably suffering from the same thing. Jealousy and envy. -
Can't Stomach Solids---anyone Else...ideas?
dreamy posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have just come off of restricted foods, and tryin to figure out portion size is really hard. I can't eat more than two, maybe three bites of anything without getting that gross foamy spit up. Every time this happens. There is no way I can get my protein in. I keep going back to cream of wheat and smoothies-which I can get some of my protein. But I read about everyone eating all of this normal food but in small amounts, and that is just not happening right now. Has anyone else been slow to heal and at 6 weeks still can't stomach solids? -

To Everyone 4-6 Weeks Out Gastric Sleeve Surgery- Wanna Compare?
dreamy replied to TiffanyC's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi- I am eating about four times a day. Just came off of restricted foods and now can eat anything. But what has been the most comfortable for me has been cream of wheat with a little butter, sugar, and lactose free milk. About a third or half cup cooked. Protein shake, Jay Robb chocolate 2 scoops with one T. of hazelnut chocolate spread-no sugar added, and half of a small banana, and almond milk and about 4 ice cubes well blended. Drink half, save half for later. Small cup of nonfat greek yogurt. And the second half of protein. And now, i will pick off my husbands plate for dinner. I have not started my exercise yet. Have not had the energy too. But now that I am on solids, I expect that to change. Plus I wanted to lose about twenty and give my stomach a bit of time to heal before i started bouncing around. -
Nov 22 Sleeved And Now I'm Miserable Help
dreamy commented on laphila76's blog entry in laphila76's Blog
Nothing sits well with me either except cream of wheat and yogurt. Both cause runny you know what, but I know my body needs something in it. Eggs make me slime. Most solids do. I am one month out and can start anything in a day, but I am weary. I can also do protein smoothies but they also have the same effect as above. Water makes me burp, as does other liquids, but the slimes are the worse. It is hard to go out socially at this point. That part stinks. I can get about three bites in at most, and that is very weird to me. BUT, I am losing weight, and this is what I signed up for. And by the way--I could eat more right after surgery than I can now. I think that is common. Hang in there!!! -

Anybody have Dr. Aceves and/or went alone?
dreamy replied to SippNSotaGirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
went alone. felt very comfortable once there. Was a little nervous too at first. The town is a border town, don't forget that, but the hospital is sweet and small. Dr Aceves is very serious about what he does, and you will be in the best hands. You will also be glad that you went by yourself because there is alot of boring down time that i would just have felt guilty, and uncomfortable with someone just sitting there watching me sleep. -
Seems like a lot of folks have had some hair loss. Has anyone not lost hair, and if so, what do you attribute it to?

Dr Kelly And Low Bmi For Gastric Sleeve Surgery
dreamy replied to 04kids's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I had 30 bmi on the nose and was at Almater Hospital with Dr. Aceves--no problem. They put my surgery last of the day. I think I was the easiest case that day. I know i had the best recovery. No pain meds needed, and up and walking that day. (as soon as the epidural wore off.) So far i have lost 14 lbs in 13 days--yeah!!!
