lookingahead replied to ambercochran's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Thanks for asking the question -- that's one of my biggest fears is having to go without my morning coffee....I crave it! Eager to hear what everyone else has to say. -

Hi! My date is December 21st as well. I start my liquid diet on December 9th. I will be going out for a "last meal" on the 8th :-) with my best friend. Best of luck to all! Keep us updated on your progress. -
My Dear Sleeve letter....
lookingahead replied to favoredone's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
That was beautiful, so well written, and so honest. I can say that you captured many of my feelings, and my desire to have the surgery, so that I can reclaim the life that I am supposed to have, but thus far I have prevented myself from living. -
@ aet; Since I'm being sleeved on 12/21 (and only my parents know) I'm going to be under the weather and won't be attending Christmas Eve dinner. I'm sad to miss it, mostly the time with my extended family, but for me it's easier to skip this year and not have to deal with questions about why I'm not eating, since I'll be on clear liquids. I decided I needed to put myself, and my needs first and that's not to have to deal with any questions.

Insurance approval and finalizing surgery date! Yay!
lookingahead posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Finally got insurance approval after what seemed to be forever, in reality it was only 2 weeks. Finalizing the surgery date with the Dr's office today, and then I can officially be on my way to the next chapter of my life. This site has been super helpful in getting answers to those silly questions and keeps me from calling the Dr's office every day when I think of a question, since I know I can find the answer on the talk forum. Thank you to everyone for your sharing... Looking forward to what the future holds! -
Hi! I'm a December 21st sleever, and I can't wait. My doctor is Dr. Craig Floch in Fairfield, CT. I have a 2 week pre-op diet that starts on December 7th. YAY!

Finalized my surgery date....December 21....HERE I COME! -
Hi! While I don't have a ton of spider veins on my legs, I certainly wouldn't be sad if they went away after I drop some weight. Did anyone experience a reduction of the appearance of their spider veins? Eager to hear your thoughts. As always, Thanks!

HI -- I'm hoping you guys will be able to shed some light on the drain that I keep reading about. What is the purpose of it? Does everyone who has VSG have one? How long does it stay in for? Many thanks!

Has anyone used Fairfield County Bariatrics in Fairfield, CT? Interested to hear about your experience with either of the Dr. Floch's. I'm currently awaiting my insurance approval, and so far have been pleased with the office, and my interactions with Dr. Craig Floch and his staff. Let me know if you've been sleeved there! Thanks!!!

So it sounds like then it varies by doctor. I'm still waiting for my date, and when I had my consultation with my doctor at that point I wasn't sure which procedure I was having. Since then I've decided to go with the sleeve, so haven't talked specifics with my dr yet. Thanks for your quick answers!
