How Many Calories Do You Eat?
BettyBoop replied to Ms skinniness's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm not quite 3 months out. I get around 400-800 calories a day. And 70-80 grams a Protein. I just had my 3 month check up with my NUT, and they never even mentioned that I should up my calories. So I'm not even going to try. As long as I am getting the required protein in and taking my Vitamins...all is good as far as I am concerned. My blood work is good and my weight is flying off. I don't think it would be beneficial to force yourself more food than you can comfortably handle. I know the doctors I see and the NUT, aren't always on the same page either..... -
It's been since the late 80's for me! And I have no doubt, you'll get there!
-
That is what I've always thought it meant!
-
Thanks so much everyone!! I was so excited, I spelled it wrong! LOL
-
All good suggestions for you above. I might also add try eating just one tablespoon rather than two. Or one ounce instead of two. See if that is more comfortable for you. Good Luck!

You'll probably feel well enough that you won't need your Mom. So then you won't have to hear her complain. -

October Sleevies - Check in!
BettyBoop replied to lisajxoxo's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was sleeved Oct 25,2011. I'm doing really well. I don't really get hungry. Although last night I was wrapping a present of chocolates and I did get some cravings and had to quickly put it away! But for the most part, I don't get hungry and really have no cravings. My biggest thing I must learn and need to work harder on is slowing down when eating. I know getting into this habit for the future is crucial. I am on stage 3 of eating. And so far I can eat just about anything except Pasta. It doesn't make me sick. But it does give me indigestion. It's OK tho, cause I am not a big pasta eater. Also for quite a while after surgery I was on a great big stall. But I am pleased to say that all this week I've been dropping a pound a day and today even 2 pounds. So finally all my hard work exercising and eating so little is paying off!! YAY!! So far 16 pounds since surgery! Before surgery 52 pounds...for a total of 68 pounds! -
How Much Weight Did You Lose On Your Pre Gastric Sleeve Surgery Diet?
BettyBoop replied to jasleeve's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
In my Kaiser Options group classes I had to attend, we had to lose 10% of our weight. I started the classes on June 1st. By the time I had my surgery on Oct 25th, I had lost 52 pounds on my own... :) -
I'm trying this recipe tonight. I am so tired of just plain chicken! However, I am curious as to what "Barbecue Seasoning" is? I have everything but the onion powder and the BBQ seasoning.

How is it a rumor? How is it gossip?

I was told by my surgeon not to drink over 30 grams at a time....I was also told to much protein is hard on your kidneys.

Do People Treat You Different After Gastric Sleeve Surgery?
BettyBoop replied to 2bfit's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No No doubt, losing weight is going to help our joints! How is your stomach handling your meds? I assume you're taking methotrexate? So far so good for me. But I did go through the biggest flare I have ever had during Thanksgiving and the weeks after. My rheumy had to put me on predisone. -
Omg!...frustrated! Neverending Stall....
BettyBoop replied to Lisa :)'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's stressful and scary right before surgery!! No doubt! But you'll do fine!! Just remember everyone is different. And depending on how overweight you are, you'll lose weight differently than anyone else. We cannot compare ourselves!! I'm as guilty as anyone else and I get frustrated as well!! But yesterday I posted that I was frustrated because I had only lost 10 pounds since my surgery on Oct 25th. Well, today I weigh myself and I dropped 3 pounds since yesterday! So for me, I think I just need to figure out how my body is losing the weight. So far it seems like every 2 weeks, I drop 3-4 pounds.... Anyway, I am doing the happy dance this morning!! It WILL COME OFF EVERYONE! If you're doing what your doctors tell you to do! -
Omg!...frustrated! Neverending Stall....
BettyBoop replied to Lisa :)'s topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
NO!!!!!! Don't back out! Stalls are common. Some lose weight faster than others. But if I am taking in 400-800 calories a day, I will lose weight. Mine is slow right now. it is frustrating. But I don't regret having my surgery for one tiny second!! I KNOW the weight will come off. It has to..... So don't let our talk about stalls, make you change your mind about a surgery that will change your life for the BETTER! We're talking STALLS. Not STOPPING weight loss! Stalls are temporary! -

Do People Treat You Different After Gastric Sleeve Surgery?
BettyBoop replied to 2bfit's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm not there yet. I'm just 6 weeks out. But years back when I lost a lot of weight I noticed men treated me differently. And it annoyed the hell out of me! Before they couldn't be bothered. Then they were panting over me. Anyway, I too have RA Lynda. And it is one of the main reason's why I decided I better go with WLS. If I didn't, I don't think I would last much longer having RA and being so overweight. Do you feel a difference in your RA Lynda??? -
Oh my, I'm all over the place in terms of music.......I listen to the Beatles, Sublime, Rage Against the Machine, Rod Stewart, The Pretenders, Social Distortion etc etc And yes, it makes my workouts fly by!!

How Much Have You Lost after Gastric Sleeve Surgery?
BettyBoop replied to peacequeen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At my highest weight of 278, I decided to look into weight loss surgery. So I started Kaiser's Option's plan. They wanted us to lose 10% of our weight. So on June 1st, is when I started dieting. I lost 53 pounds before surgery. I weighed in at 225 on Oct 25th, the day of my surgery. Since then, I've lost 11 pounds. I am down to 214. Not very fast after surgery! But they say that I'm not losing as fast because I lost so much pre-op. It can be frustrating! But a few days ago, I lost 4 pounds pretty much over night! So I know it will come off!! I just gotta stop stressing about it! How can it not when your averaging 700-800 calories a day? LOL -
Can I choose the VSG with Kaiser Permanente
BettyBoop replied to 4mykids's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Yes, it does go fast after your done with the Option's classes. I was done Aug 27th. I was in for surgery on Oct 25th. Good luck with your journey! -
My BIG mistake! I did write 500 mg, but meant to write 100 mg! Which is cut in half and only taken on Mon, Weds and Fridays. Hope this helps. OH, I also corrected my mistake in the post. My apologies!
