Same here mine pays 13k flat over that I'm responsible. I dont understand it all yet. But I know the cash price is 14200 so I'm hoping they don't try to stick ot to me bc I have insurance.ladt week they called and said MY part was gonna be 8k which if they already getting 13k from ins. I hope it's not gonna be that muh more but who knows! Its all so confusing. Who knows! -

I have BCBS TX and I had to do a 6 month supervised diet and visits with nut., then a 10 week online program which is required by my job. My healthinsurance thru my job which is a health care facility will cover the surgery if I do all this plus have BMI of 40 or over 35 with co-morbidities. I am in week 8 of my online class so I am hoping to sch. for jan 30th. Right now there is some confusion with the insurance bc I am approved already but surg. office said my copay is 8k but my insurance online says my plan is 80-20 if I use the facility where I work plus I have a max out of pocket of 2500 if I used the facility where I work. This should be correct but I'm going to call my insurance today and double ck. this and if so I will sch. my surg this Wed. for JAN 30!!!!! yayyyyy Insurance is nice don't get me wrong but boy it can be confusing and ALL the companies mite say BCBS but most still have their own independent rules incorperated in as well. -
I'd say DO IT! I'm hoping to have mine done 1-30 and I'm 198, but I'm only 5' nothing but I do carry it pretty well. Most ppl say GOSH! your not big enuf for THAT!!!! but I have gained and lost the same 35# about 35x since having my youngest who will be 17 on Wed. I have never been able to keep it off and I have never been able to get down even close to what I should weigh which is about 130. I know my scoliosis and arthritis, bp, and blood sugar will catch up to me even worse if I do not get this weight off and keep it OFF!!! So good luck!

Well after looking at my insurance benefits myself...and having a small heart attack bc the surgeons office called me on Thurs. and said my portion was gonna be 8k... then like I said looking at my benefits myself says IF I use the facility/company that I work for which has a baritric center as part of the hospital that it covers 80-20% and that my max out of pocket is 2500... I was like YESSSS much better. So I'm gonna call the insurance co. myself Monday and confirm all this and then I will Sch. for Jan 30THHHH yayyyaaa! -

ahhhh feeling accomplished and it feels good! Cleaned the laundry room, did a bunch of laundry, organized all the cabinets in there, and washed my bed stuff...now time for bed, or lay down atleast...work tomorrow

Trying To Get An Idea Of How Much I Will Need To Pay For Gastric Sleeve Surgery

I'm going thru the same thing right now! I actually work for the hospital system where I will be getting sleeved at their center of excellence and normally my insurance is 70-30%. So my surgeons office calls and says your approved (which I already knew from calling insurance co. myself) and I can sch. right now ( instead of finishing my 10 week online program that I'm "required" to do by my insurance) and that my portion my co-pay is 8000!!!! I was like whooooaaa now! how the heck am I going to come up with THAT!!!! in a month????? SO then I look at my insurance benefits online and it says it's 80-20 if you are at a Christus facility and that my max out of pocket it 2500... now that's more like it!!! So I let them know this and they said O ok well then we will go by that. So needless to say I'm going to re-verify all this with my insurance company and I'm going to the surgeons office to talk to them in person next week so I can BE SURE it's all correct and I don't get stuck with a HUGE bill. -
I'm going for Jan. 30. They called and said I could sch. it now, but I been saying end of Jan 1st of Feb. and thats what I have been working around and told my co workers. So I am thinking the 30th for Sure! Can't wait!!!! I was wondering about having a previous TT and then VSG, I had a TT in 2001 when I weighed 170 but then I gained up to 215, now I'm 200. My stomach still looks alot better than it did before the TT. But I was wondering about how it will look after I finally lose all this wieght and keep it off... anyone who's ahead of me in the game please let me know!!! thanks! -
