Sounds normal to me. The drain is an irritant as it is a foreign body. I doubt that you have an infection but if you start to feel unweel and spike a temp, do seek some help. You will doubtless feel better once it is out. Good luck x

One bite too much=nausea?
healpro replied to jillw8's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think this is different for everyone. I have to look at the quantity on the plate to judge because regardless of how slowly I eat I do not get a full signal and can go from OK to the next fork/spoonful being too much. I am 9 weeks out and am only just realising that my full signal is missing! -
Does your sleeve "clench"?
healpro replied to emily_0192010's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yep - I had this too, mainly at night and it would wake me up. It wasn't painful but I found it distressing and so I took buscopan for a couple of weeks. It went away on its own. I think - and this is only my theory - that this is a reaction of your stomach tissue to surgery. I live in the UK and asked my surgeon for advice at the time - he said he had never heard of it!! I found out thru this forum that this is a common experience. Sleeves as a stand alone wls in the UK is in its infancy unlike over there in the USA and so I am not surprised he had never heard of it but it was worrying that he didnt have the answers at the time. It will stop eventually. See your medic/surgeon for an anti spasmodic if it is really worrying/uncomfortable for you. -
new to forum, 6.5 weeks post Op and question
healpro posted a topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi, discovered this forum today and so glad I have. Was sleeved just over 6 weeks ago, doing ok. I live in the UK and this op is fairly new here as a stand alone procedure, consequently the forums here are not brilliant. Am still in the process of 'lurking' about and looking at all the info. I found a thread earlier (whilst at work) called 'hungry sleevies' or something very similar and now I cannot find it - could someone point the way back to it for me so I can finish reading it please? It is very pertinent to me as I was sooo looking forward to not being hungry anymore and unfortunately this has not been the case for me and this thread had some very useful info in it. I self funded for my procedure and chose to do it before I got really big - I weighed 224. I have only lost 8 kg so far (17.6 lbs), this includes pre-op diet so as you can see my loss is VERY slow. I have always been a slow loser and am now trying to maximise my weight loss. Don't regret any of it for one minute and am very positive that this was the right thing to do. I probably wont post often as am more of a lurker, but thanks for having me!! Tina
