  1. I really appreciate this post, because I was sleeved, 8/30/12, and to date I have lost 58 lbs. I was losing weight so fast at one time, I started to worry. Then I stalled 2 weeks, then loss 3 more lbs., and now I have stalled again. It has been almost 2 months now, and no loss here. And I admit that I wanted to get discouraged one day, and I had to pick myself up, and remind myself that I have lost 58lbs. That is a lot of weight, I don't care what anybody says. I have received so many compliments on my appearance. This past Sunday I wore 5 inch heels to church, and was comfortable. I love the new me, and had to quickly get rid of that sour spirit. God has been so good to all of us. He allowed the medical field to advance to the point that we all had the opportunity to have this surgery. We are truly blessed. I have people telling me that they wish that they can have this surgery now. Including a relative of mine who has ridiculed me about my weight for years. She was denied the surgery, by the way. So I appreciate your post, and everyone else's. We all are in this together, so why not encourage one another. When you mess up, post it here, you might be stopping me from making the same mistake. We all are human, and love to eat. I mean some of this food is really good, but half of it is not good for us. That's just the truth. So let's not be afraid to admit when we make mistakes, and mess up. Admit it and let's be there for each other. I know we don't know one another, but that's what the forum is for. You don't have to know me or see me to be an inspiration. I want all of us to live and be healthy. Be encouraged!!

    Diabetes

I was type 2 diabetic, and I say was, because I asked God for a complete healing before the surgery. I was taking Metformin and Glypizide, and I am thrilled to say that those pill bottles are in the landfill. I have not had one pill since 8/29/12. I just had another f/u last week, and my levels are still normal. God is great, and he answers prayers. And I am 39 yrs. old, we are close in age.

    Very Cold

Someone started this same thread about a month ago, and later reported, after asking their Dr. that it's a side effect of the surgery. She also said that it wears off over time. I am the same way, and was hot natured before. So we all seem to be having the same reaction. Nothing to worry about though.
  7. Are some of you finding it easier to eat meat when it is wet or moist? Meaning, with sauce or a gravy on it. Or is it just me?
  8. I just got off of the scale, and I am down 3 more pounds. I had been on a 2 week stall, but I am happy to say, the scale is moving again. Starting weight was 278, I am now 245. Glory to God! I'll take it!!

    Advise Please!

@Ready4success, no I'm not exercising. I plan to start walking on my treadmill this week. I work at night and sleep almost up until it's time to go to work. I am hoping to get a day shift position, or find one soon. This night work is driving ne crazy. I miss out on midweek church services, and being home with my fam. In addition I am not able to workout like I want to.

@rockafam, we were the almost same starting weight, off by 3lbs. And we are the exact same weight now, to the ounce. I was sleeved August 30, and I have lost 30lbs. After reading other post op posts, I think we are right on target. I am actually going through a stall right now, and haven't lost anything in 2 weeks. But I have complete faith that the rest is yet to come, off that is.lol Be encouraged. hun.

Any August Sleevers Living In Stall Hell?

I was sleeved August 30. I am down 30lbs., but stalled for week and a half now. I am not stressing at all. I am 30lbs. lighter than I was a month ago. So I am praising God for that. I know the stall is not going to last forever, so why not think about something else. Like what am I going to wear to work tomorrow, since everything is too big. Look at the positive.
  12. 30lbs. exactly!! I am overjoyed. I just discovered a workout room on my job. Never knew it existed, go figure. But they advertise every bake sale on every floor.lol. Anyway, I just wanted to encourage others to keep pressing on. We're all in this sleeve together!!
