Share your "slow loss" success!
slimmom24angels replied to clk's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I really appreciate this post, because I was sleeved, 8/30/12, and to date I have lost 58 lbs. I was losing weight so fast at one time, I started to worry. Then I stalled 2 weeks, then loss 3 more lbs., and now I have stalled again. It has been almost 2 months now, and no loss here. And I admit that I wanted to get discouraged one day, and I had to pick myself up, and remind myself that I have lost 58lbs. That is a lot of weight, I don't care what anybody says. I have received so many compliments on my appearance. This past Sunday I wore 5 inch heels to church, and was comfortable. I love the new me, and had to quickly get rid of that sour spirit. God has been so good to all of us. He allowed the medical field to advance to the point that we all had the opportunity to have this surgery. We are truly blessed. I have people telling me that they wish that they can have this surgery now. Including a relative of mine who has ridiculed me about my weight for years. She was denied the surgery, by the way. So I appreciate your post, and everyone else's. We all are in this together, so why not encourage one another. When you mess up, post it here, you might be stopping me from making the same mistake. We all are human, and love to eat. I mean some of this food is really good, but half of it is not good for us. That's just the truth. So let's not be afraid to admit when we make mistakes, and mess up. Admit it and let's be there for each other. I know we don't know one another, but that's what the forum is for. You don't have to know me or see me to be an inspiration. I want all of us to live and be healthy. Be encouraged!! -
I was type 2 diabetic, and I say was, because I asked God for a complete healing before the surgery. I was taking Metformin and Glypizide, and I am thrilled to say that those pill bottles are in the landfill. I have not had one pill since 8/29/12. I just had another f/u last week, and my levels are still normal. God is great, and he answers prayers. And I am 39 yrs. old, we are close in age.

Are some of you finding it easier to eat meat when it is wet or moist? Meaning, with sauce or a gravy on it. Or is it just me?
-
Someone started this same thread about a month ago, and later reported, after asking their Dr. that it's a side effect of the surgery. She also said that it wears off over time. I am the same way, and was hot natured before. So we all seem to be having the same reaction. Nothing to worry about though.

I just got off of the scale, and I am down 3 more pounds. I had been on a 2 week stall, but I am happy to say, the scale is moving again. Starting weight was 278, I am now 245. Glory to God! I'll take it!!

@Ready4success, no I'm not exercising. I plan to start walking on my treadmill this week. I work at night and sleep almost up until it's time to go to work. I am hoping to get a day shift position, or find one soon. This night work is driving ne crazy. I miss out on midweek church services, and being home with my fam. In addition I am not able to workout like I want to. -
Advise Please!
slimmom24angels replied to rockafam's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@rockafam, we were the almost same starting weight, off by 3lbs. And we are the exact same weight now, to the ounce. I was sleeved August 30, and I have lost 30lbs. After reading other post op posts, I think we are right on target. I am actually going through a stall right now, and haven't lost anything in 2 weeks. But I have complete faith that the rest is yet to come, off that is.lol Be encouraged. hun. -
Any August Sleevers Living In Stall Hell?
slimmom24angels replied to Lucabelle1313's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved August 30. I am down 30lbs., but stalled for week and a half now. I am not stressing at all. I am 30lbs. lighter than I was a month ago. So I am praising God for that. I know the stall is not going to last forever, so why not think about something else. Like what am I going to wear to work tomorrow, since everything is too big. Look at the positive. -

One Week Post Op Today, And I Am Down......wait For It...........
slimmom24angels posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
19lbs......Yayyyyyyy!!!!! Confetti is flying, and I am kicking and screaming. To God be all of the Glory! I knew that I had lost weight obviously, but never in my wildest dreams did I think that I had loss 19lbs. I was completely blown away. I am truly overjoyed by this news, and motivated to continue. It got hard the one night that my DH and kids were eating McDonald's, and we all know how those fries smell. I thought that I was going to have to go outside. Although, I am not having hunger pangs, my nose works fine.lol But I have to get used to that. At work, there are always potluck luncheons going on, and food aromas are the norm everyday. So I will be tested on the regular, but I have got to get the victory over food, if I want this sleeve to be a success. So please keep me in your prayers, and as usual I will pray for you as well. Remember, we are in this sleeve together! -
Hello Fellow Sleevers, I am having a hard time with digesting different liquids. Crystal Light, jello, and now Atkins shakes are giving me extreme gas. I am trying to be lady like btw. I believe it must be the aspartame in the CL and jello, and the shakes apparently are not lactose free. My DH brought the shakes home, I told him to get Boost Glucose Control. I am lactose intolerant. What are some more suggestions for liquids to consume? I am suffering here, and I just want to eat something. I am down to water and popsicles only, can't keep going like this. Help?

Rumble In The Jungle......
slimmom24angels replied to slimmom24angels's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I purchased protein powder and Silk Almond Milk during my 2 week liquid protein diet, pre op . It was good. I was going to try Boost Glucose Control this time though, but DH brought home the wrong item. I will rectify that tomorrow. But I need other options, other than shakes. I can't eat anything else. I did find out that I can have creamed soups, so I will also pick that up tomorrow too. Any other suggestions? Just so I won't get bored. -
Hard Candy?
slimmom24angels replied to slimmom24angels's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well, I have gone through too much to get to this point. I am not going to jeopardize my health or success over a Jolly Rancher. I have moved pass that phase, and working on making the right choices. I had my moment, I have gotten back on track now. Thanks for your input everyone, I really appreciate all of the posts. -
Hello Fellow Sleepers, Quick question, can we have hard candy? I was sleeved last Thursday, 8/30. I just want some flavor. I have some Jolly Ranchers left over from the clear liquid diet, pre op. Dr office is closed today, so I thought that I just throw the question out. Thanks for responding. Continued success!

Surgery Yesterday And Doing Great!
slimmom24angels replied to slimmom24angels's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi guys, I have been sleeping a lot today. But still doing well. Had a reflux episode when I got home. Dr prescribed something for it, and I am doing fine. Still trying to get used to my new stomach, but no regrets so far.
