You will manage fine. It just seem overwhelming right now because so much is happening at one time but you will look back one day and say gee, those weren't biggies at all. As for being an only child I know how you feel as I was one too. You would have felt guilty even if you had gotten married and move and really when is the good time? You will be fine, you are just growing up.

Welcome to Bandland, you've just landed somewhere over the rainbow! Good luck on your journey.

Becky, Nervous and anxious are the number 1 feelings as you go into this. Congratulations on your new granddaughter. You will definitely feel your energy level rise as you start to lose. Forget about that Dr. Pepper and start getting use to drinking non-calorie drinks. Gatorade has become my favorite one. Good luck with your surgery.

Michelle, that is great! I know you will look hot in those 10's.

cant i just blend everything to liquid?
gunn4ya replied to katerzz's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Katie, You might want to take it slow and stick to things that are really liquids like Soup, juice, blended oatmeal, Protein shakes. You really want your stomach to heal. Believe me you only think you are really really hungry but if you fill up on non-calorie liquids when you do eat your soup you will be surprised how full you feel. -

Kris, You will be just fine. I was scared too but I internalize mine and don't let anyone know how I really feel. Thanks to a great hubby I did just fine getting home and help around the house. I moved slowly the first 3 days and then all of the sudden I really started to feel like my normal self again. I'll make sure I send up a prayer for you. -
Katie, Sorry to hear about your ordeal. Believe me it will get better. Try to get up and move around. That seemed to make the soreness go away faster. I hope all goes well for you.
-
Brissie, You will be fine. It will feel like you have done too many situps. I used a small pillow when I was getting up, coughing, sneezing and the such. Just place it over your stomach and that keeps the movement down to a minimum. Good luck to you.

Yes Girls, by all means get your Magic Bullets ordered or bought. It has truly been a blessing for me. I blended all my soups that had bits of veggies in them. Also, it make a great egg salad. Tonite I am going to try tuna salad in it. At any rate I wish all of you luck!!!
-
Val, Glad to hear you are doing better. Hang in there and take one day at a time. You'll bounce back to being yourself in no time. And remember drink that water!!!!
-
Brandi, Thanks for sharing the pictures. Just so you wont lose hope, I have UHC and they took a long time before they approved me. They paid 100%. Good luck.

Isa, I am beginning to see that everyone is different. I was banded on March 30 and I have very tight restriction. I am still on the liquid diet stage and this Friday I will start on the mushy stage. Right now I can only get one cup of Soup down for my dinner, during the day I have a Protein shake for Breakfast and the rest of the time I fill up on non-cal liquids. I cant wait though to try me some egg and tuna salad. Hope everything works out for you.

Alex, You look great, great blouse and it happens to be my favorite color (any shade of green). -
Thanks for the update. Tell Katie to hurry up and get well soon.

Trish, You seem to have a talent there. Those ceramics look great!
-
Betty, Looks like you had a grand time. I know you went down and visited that georgous pool!! It looks so inviting if one was desperate they could have taken a high dive act!
-
Babs, So sorry you have to go thru all of that with the insurance company. At any rate, I hope everything works out for you. Good luck.
-
Annette, Being a new bandster I am surprised that I still go to the bathroom everyday but just not as much comes out like it use to. The gas rumbling is a lot different it is really loud but so far other than that everything seems to be normal.
-
Kelly, Congrats on your new home. I hope you enjoy it!

Need Help, I feel like I'm "dieting" again!
gunn4ya replied to TraumaNurse's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Christina, I think that the surgery just depends on the person. I was banded on March 30 and I have really tight restriction especially as the day goes on. I get my first fill on May 17 and I am wondering what that is going to be like. I can barely get a cup of Soup down and that is my main meal the other times I am just drinking no cal liquids. Don't worry you'll probably be ok when you get your fill. -
Betty, sounds like you had a fantastic trip. It's nothing like letting the wind blow on ya, now you're just gonna have to figure out how to get those hands and arms to match. heheehehe.

Yes, I have the book and it is an excellent read. Another book which I would recommend is Eating Well After Weight Loss Surgery by Patt Levine. This book has at what stage you can eat the recipe or whether you can blend it. Great asset.

Penni, Sorry to hear about the tragedy. Such young lives gone too fast.

Welcome Guitarman. I hope all goes successful for you.
