Paula, What a cutie! I think it's probably just like you said, that her neck muscles just have not developed enough to hold up her head herself. I'd be surprised if it's something else. Take care and keep us informed.
-
Terri, That is so good! Next you'll tell us you're running. Congratulations.

I have UHC and they approved me. It took them a little while to make the determination but finally I got an approval.

I had to have the stress test done. The only thing I didnt like was running on that darn treadmill but really the test is nothing. They inject you with this solution and then you wait a while, then they take some pictures, run you on the treadmill and then take more pictures. You usually come back for the results.

My doctor required that you bring in your spouse or whoever was going to be your closest support person. I think that was a good idea because it gave my husband a chance to ask those questions of concern he had in the back of his mind. I am glad he went because then it gave us an opportunity to jointly think of other questions we had concerning the process. Also, I have no secrets from my husband, I would have been disappointed if he had not gone with me.

Tippy, You are experiencing everything normal related to the lapband procedure. It is kinda going into the twilight zone. You've read everything about it but you still don't know what to expect. I had my surgery on March 30. I was sore from the incisions but experienced no gas pain at all. I was going up and down the steps again three days after surgery. Believe me I feel I have made the right decision. You will see it is a good choice. Best of luck to you and keep your head up it only gets better.

Babs, Sounds like you are back on track. You go, you are truly an inspiration.

Hello All, I need some help/clarification on a few things. First of all is orange juice a good thing or bad thing for the band? Is it only in the first few weeks not good? I have heard conflicting answers. Also, what about crackers, I hear some of you are eating them at your mushy stage but that's not a mushy food, right? Or is it that your mushy stage is not as long as mine which is for 2 weeks. What about bananas, I hear some of you say ok for a mushy and some are saying no? And last but not least, how many calories should I be looking at? I am around the 1200 right now, is that good or bad? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I take my pills one at a time. Be careful because pills that have the XL followed behind their name should be crushed at all. Those are the extended release ones. I was so worried that one was gonna get stuck but so far I have been lucky and I have been doing this since I came home from the surgery. I figured no need to get messed up if the pills were working for me before, now I just want to lose weight to try to get rid of some of them.

My husband went into panick mode. Oh no, is she gonna be alright???? Then after I sat down and we really talked about why I wanted this he said he would back me 100%. Now he calls himself the food police. He is always watching and checking up on me. Some days it drives me crazy but most of the time I know he is just looking out for me. This is his way to be involved with the whole process. Now he makes comments about me getting a boyfriend when I lose the weight but who needs one, I married my best friend and boyfriend so I have the best of both worlds!!!! :banana

Pat, Yes, I drink apple juice but was specifcally wondering about the orange juice cause I hear it can bother the stomach because it is acidic. I just wanted to try your strawberry smoothies recipe, it sounded really good but I noticed it has OJ in it. Vines, I must admit I am a borderline couch potato at times and that has got to and will change. So on my days when that couch has me tied to it how many calories should I shoot for?

Gee Megan, That sounds like a lot of fun. I grew up as a young girl around horses. I had two family members who had horses. I am envying you.
-
Jorjet, It's ok to be nervous. You are probably anxious too. You'll be just fine. I think we all have gone thru this. Good luck on your surgery and I hope you have a speedy recovery.

Sue, Good luck on your surgery. As faf as your signature line if you go to www.tickerfactory.com and create one then you will have to copy and paste the line of code it creates. When you come back to this site go under your profile and under signature and paste it in there. Hope this works for you. -
Penni, Sorry to hear about your mom again and I know how you feel. But believe me when they go for spurts like that when it's over it will probably be over for a while. So hang it there I think your moms run is just about over and I'm gonna pray on that!

Jenna, I am 3 weeks out and I am beginning to feel hungry. Before Sunday I didnt even feel hunger. So I would say that I too am healing but I do notice when I start to eat I get full faster. I am still not able to eat a lot in one sitting so I try to do breakfast, lunch and dinner. Sometimes dinner is even too much. Thanks for sharing your experience and remember to fill up on those non-cal liquids. I just bought me some crystal light.

If he has done the rouen -y then you should be ok. The doctor that just did me had performed many of those but I was his first lapband patient. The rouen -y is actually more complicated than placing the lapband. Good luck. I had no complications.

Trish, You time is on countdown. It will be no time before you come over to Bandland. This is an exciting time for you. Enjoy it and take it slow. Remember someone in your past probably telling you about good things comes to those that wait. And believe me the wait is worth it. Take care.

Hi KH, Welcome to Bandland. I hope all goes well with you. liquid phase can be fun you just have to be creatively thinking when drinking those broths and creamy Soups. Believe me mushy stage will come fast and scrambled eggs never tasted so good.
-
Penni, So sorry to hear that. You have been flooded with death lately, you are going to have to take a break from all that. We dont want you getting depressed.
-
Patty, That is really good weight loss. So what kinds of things are you eating? Are you excersising as well. You should really be proud.
-
Sandra, It sounds like you are sucking in too much air. Be careful and make sure you try to exhale before talking and eating, this might help.
-
Congratulations and now everything else will seem to go really fast. Good luck.
