I have been having the golf ball effect every now and then. I still have not had a PB and I am happy. But this morning I got the golf ball effect really bad -- squeezing my chest and then without notice I slimed -- yucky, yucky but the golf ball feeling slowly started going away. So did I not chew good or what happened????

Snuffy, Your weight loss is great. You will have to give more details on how much you weighed at the start of your journey and what you did to lose that much. Good job. I think there are more and more patients from the Metro area who are also thinking about a support group. That is not a bad idea. -

Hello Pansy and Teresa, Yep, there are a few of us Metropolitan DC folks hanging around here. Pansy, yes I was Dr. Brodsky's very first lapband. The guy is great!!! I was in and out in no time. Dr. Brodsky has had lots of experience with doing the gastric bypass which is a much more complicated surgery than the lapband. I think he is great. His demeanor and skills put in right up at the top. If I had to do it all over again I would not hesitate and would have him do it again. -
That only natural and that's just because you dont know what to expect. You are only going to feel the stick from the needle they use to numb the area with and after that it just feels like some pushing. Just dont look, you'll be just fine.

I have more restriction too. Cant eat a lot.

Jenna, All of those pictures are great! I agree with you the dog looks like "oh no, not again". Dont forget to post one of your mom after her surgery.

Calling all March 05 bandsters!
gunn4ya replied to Madeline's mom's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey dont forget me!!! I was banded on March 30. I had my first fill on June 1 because when I went in May the doctor couldnt find my port but was successful under fluoro. I started at 283 and down to 263. I have lost 20 pounds and one clothes size. -
Ok, for me this is a tricky subject. When I get food stuck it feel like it is stuck in my throat. It feels like a big golfball stuck and it wont go down or come up. Sometimes it feels like it takes my breath away. Thats usually when I jump up and start to pace the floor but I find this helps me cause I start to bump and then the feeling goes away. I usually dont try to push and eat anything else after that. Although this has never happened to me I know some of the other have PBd when it stays stuck for too long.

Teresa, They are talking about Washington state. I just sent you a private message, please read it.

Welcome to Bandland Allen. You have really been doing a great job with your weight loss. Keep up the good work.
-
Patty, Same thing happened to me. When I went to get the fluoro I was really nervous but believe me it was all uneventful and only took about 10 minutes if even that long.
-
Penni, I hope all goes well for you and your hubby. You have a lot bigger heart than me, I dumped my first hubby for cheating. The one I have now is a keeper.
-
MaryRuth, Welcome to Bandland. Good luck on your journey.

Robyn, I just had my first fill done under fluoro on June 1. The reason we had to do it under fluoro was because when I went to the office to have my fill he could not find my port. Nope, didnt have to drink anything, it was just an X-ray machine that they placed over my stomach and you could see the port. Once the doctor figured out the ports bull's eye he injected the saline solution and my band tightened. He had me drink a small cup of Water before leaving to make sure it was not too tight. Of course I didnt notice any change til I got back to work and was drinking some water too fast and it felt like it was stuck going down.

After my strips fell off I used the neosporin cream on the incisions. It helped them from itching so much.
-
Lisa, You look soooo cute. Actually you look like one of those kids, if you remember from the Our Gang series.

What foods do you find difficult to eat?
gunn4ya replied to aileena's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Bread and cucumbers with the skin on them. -
Aileena, You really want to wait to give your stomach time to heal. You don't realize it but it is probably still swollen. You will be glad you waited. In the meantime, start to concentrate on healthy eating and drinking liquids. Before you know it you will get your fill.
