    Tomorrow,!!

    Congrats and Good Luck!
  2. If you have stuck to the liquid diet and haven't cheated you should have lost weight. Go and be proud.! And if you didn't lose (even though I am sure you did) be proud that you are stciking to this diet, because seriously this pre-op diet is freaking hard! Hold your head up high, you are getting healthy and you are going to feel better by getting this weight off. You are gunna wear non elastic pants, in fact you are gunna rock some skinny jeans! Just keep up the good work! I want to add you have to do what will make you feel most comfortable, whatever that may be. Good Luck!
  3. That is so awesome! Congrats!
  4. Congrats! It's such a good feeling knowing it is going to happen. :biggrin5:

    Drinking Protein

How are you have trouble? Is it making you sick, gag, or what? I would say try and switch what you are drinking. Or split it up throughout the day so you are drinking less amounts more times a day. Whatever the reason anyone is usually going to get sick of the same thing day in and day out it's a good idea to have a variety of options so you don't get tired of one. Good Luck.

    Give up my coke addiction?!

So I went thru a similar situation when I started my pre-op diet, I was addicted to diet pepsi. Like no joke I was drinking about 90-100oz a day and not drinking my Water. Seriously I drank no water. Anyways, when my surgeon told me I would have to give up soda for the rest of my life at first I freaked but in my mind being thin was way worth giving up soda. It took me about 2 months but I am now able to go all day without soda. It is one of the hardest things I have ever done. I have quit smoking, had a child by c-section, had many many many surgeries and quiting soda ranks way up there lol. You should at least quit soda until you are in maintenence. Then I don't see why re-introducing it back in would be a problem. I am still pre-op and like i said my surgeon says I have to quit soda for the rest of my life. HAHA he is sadly wrong, I will drink soda again- just not anytime soon. I quit by slowly cutting back how much I was drinking a day. I didn't get headaches or feel like I was dying or anything. I think it is because I cut back slowly. I did like 2 weeks at a 20oz a day. Then I cut back to small bottles of 16oz for 2 weeks. Then I bought the small cans that are 8oz for a week. I hate soda in a can, I like the plastic bottle or fountain. So I immediately gave up fountains and eventualy l drank from cans. Drinking from cans did it for me because it tasted wrong lol. You can do it, it really is hard but it's worth it to have a good solid recovery and to make sure you don't hurt your new small stomach. Most likely after the surgery you won't even want them anymore, lots of people can't handle sweet sugary things anymore. Good Luck!

    New to the forum

I wanted to also welcome you to the forum. There are a lot of helpful, caring, amazing people on here so you have made a good choice coming here! I am not having my surgery done in MX but I think there is an actual place on here that is dedicated just to people going to MX. I am not 100% sure but you might wanna look around a bit. Anyways, welcome!
  8. Of course we will lose weight on the pre-op diet, that is what it is meant to do. Don't physc yourself out. Most of us are overweight because we are unable to make the permanent lifestyle changes to keep the weight off. That is why the sleeve is so successful because it is making the permanent lifestyle change for us. It won't fix our mind and how we think, but I feel in a way it will help with that too. If you eat too much you hurt wich sends the signal to the brain not to do it. Same with drinking/eating too fast and drinking or eating bigger bites or gulps. So I feel like we are just retraining our mind and body to be healthy and thin. By the time we are able to eat real food like 6 months down the line we will be thinner and better prepared to handle our own food choices. So yes you could back out and stick to the diet you have been given for pre-op, in fact at my surgeons office many people decide to do that. But you know what will most likely happen? You will get fed up with the diet, quit, and probably go back to your prior habits that put you in this situation in the first place. That is what most of us have done our entire lives .I say stick with it, you will be so happy you did. :biggrin5:

    time to surgery

I have medicaid and I started this whole thing September 26th and I will be having surgery on November 30th. I have a great surgeon who believe in me having the surgeon and has done everything accurately and quickly to make sure I get the surgery sooner rather than later.

    had very first consultation today!

Hey hun, I havent had the surgery yet but wanted to let you know that the sleeve surgery was the last thing I wanted. That's before I read all of the success stories on this site and before I did all the reasearch I have done. I'm wondering why you think the sleeve won't work for you?

    November 30th

My surgery is November 30th as well but I am having my surgery done in Southern Illinois by Dr. Sudakaran at New Life Weigh Loss center.
  14. November 30th surgery date! wo0t wo0t!

  15. My surgery is November 30th. i started my whole journey on Sept. 26th. So for me it had all happened in the blink of an eye. I am so nervous, even though my surgeon is amazing. I guess for me the nervousness comes from just not knowing how it all will be after I have surgery. I know how it "should" be, but I'm still nervous how I will actually feel. I'm nervous also that I won't lose any weight. That probably sounds silly, but I have been overweight my whole life and losing the weight almost seems like an impossible thing right now. I'm also very anxious about the actual procedure. I always hope everything will go smooth and complication free, but will it actually be that way the day of. So to answer your question, yes I think everyone goes through exactly what you are going through to some extent or another. Why wouldn't we be nervous or anxious? We are basically about to change our lives in ways we never have before. I believe everything will be fine. Have faith hun, you know what you are doing, and in about 5-6 months you will look back and giggle at how nervous you were. Good Luck. !!

    Inbetween sizes... *sighs*

I know how frustrating that can be. I have slid into many cute pairs of pants that look great on my thighs and butt only to button them and POW there is tons of belly flab. I haven't had my surgery yet, but I do feel your pain. I recently bought a pair of super cute bright pink pajama pants, I bought XL cuz I like them baggy and comfy, well they fit so good. When we went back to the store I saw another cute pair of bright purple ones with stars so I grabbed an XL and when I got home they were very tight. I was so upset and sad. The nice thing is that eventually they will fit. Determination and hard work and in no time your pants will be looking FAB on you. They may even end up being way too big before you even know it. You never know. From looking at you ticker it looks like you have done an amazing job. Don't let one pair of pants bring you down, keep your chin up girl it will all be fine. (((hugz)))
  17. Those are both great victories! Congrats! I have always thought that it's such an awesome feeling to try on clothes that once fit fine and now are too big. I dunno why but having clothes fit bigger sometimes (to me) is a better victory than a scale loss. Congratulations again this is an awesome post! Good Luck on your pre-op diet and keep us posted!

    Banana Babes

Yeah longer-life I was the one on a never ending liquid diet. But I am glad they finally gave me a date. And in all honesty I am glad I was on the liquid diet for so long because i feel more prepared now for how things will be after the surgery. I fell off the wagon many times, and I cheated many times, but now I am doing great and feel so ready for surgery. Thanks for worrying about me. After you said you would switch surgeons I went to my surgeons office and said i want a date! They still couldn't give me an exact date but he gave me a general idea which was good. I am the type of person that will call and annoy the nurses all day because I have a million questions lol. at first they hated me but now they love me lol.

    Banana Babes

Hi Everyone, Just checking in I have my surgery scheduled for November 30th. Yah! I am so excited. For me this has all been a blur. I started this whole journey on Sept 26th. So all of my testing and everything only took 2 months. Wowie. Thru the testing i have found out that I have central sleep apnea and also bipolar disorder. I can't believe I had both things and had no idea. So I am lucky to have had all the testing done. Now I just have to attend my pre-surgery class and one more support group meeting and I am done. If there are any sleevie buddies who wanna add me as a friend that would be great. We can never have too much support. BTW I am keeping my sleeve private until after the surgery is done. My family is very negative about it and i will not let them persuade me one way or the other until it's already done lol. Then they can't do anything about it.

    One Week Down

Yeah it does seem hypocritical to do that. But many people quit long enough to have surgery and then start smoking again after they have healed and gotten thru the post op stuff. I quit smoking when I was pregnant with my daughter that was like 3.5 years ago. I still crave cigs but I won't do it. I know if I buy a pack that will be the beginning of the end lol.

    Completely F*%King LOST

Everyone has said so many great things, I really don't have much to add. I don't think you are motivated because you are stuck in a bad cycle. Eat something bad, feel crappy, get down on yourself, eat something bad again, etc.. That's how I usually end up getting at times and that's what you might be doing. You have done so well. You most likely have not stretched your sleeve any more than any other person at your stage in weight loss with a sleevie. I think you should stop "thinking" so much. Stop thinking you have completely destroyed your little belly. You haven't! You have just gotten into a bad eating pattern that you need to break out of. We all do it, don't be so down on yourself. Get back on track, you can do it! Good Luck, I am here if you want to vent or rant or whatever just PM me. Everyone else on here, well I'm sure you already know, they are great and awesome too. :biggrin2: You can do this I know you can. If you didn't believe in yourself you would have never gotten the surgery in the firstplace. (((((hugs)))))

    Got my surgery date!

Thanks Liliana! Yeah we will be sleevie buddies! I can't even tell you how much I enjoy having you and everyone else on here for support. Thank you for giving me some hopeful and encouraging words. We will both do awesome! I was just having a small moment of weakness.
  23. So I got a call today from my surgery place and my date is November 30th! I am so excited and nervous all at the same time. Lately I have been thinking of backing out. I know i am only hesitant because the surgery will hold me to standards that I don't hold to myself. That is the one reason I wanted the surgery. I can't cheat because everyone is watching me and weighing me and keeping their eyes on me. But now I am wanting to back out because I want to be able to have cheat days and eat little things here or there. I know that sounds crazy, but I have lived so long like this it's hard to break the habit. I am not going to back out though I am going to do it. This is my time to get healthy and stay healthy. I got off on a tangent there but anyways SURGERY on NOVEMBER 30th!! WOOHOOOOO Thanks for reading this. =]

    i'm so sad.

Wear something you think is nice, and if your mom says anything tell her exactly what you have said here. Tell her you won't waste your money on something you are only going to wear once. Tell her you are sorry she feels you won't look nice but you will put a lot of time and effort into what you wear and you think you will look FAB! Also, I hardly ever dress up but when I do I usually wear a cute pair of dark jeans and a nice button up shirt. Since no one ever sees me without my yoga pants or sweats they almost always think I look nice. It's not about anyone else it is about YOU. Like someone else said you need to feel good about you and that's all that matters. The more confident you are on that night the less likely your mom will say anything. I have always heard confidence makes the woman. Good Luck and keep your head held high.
