    For Those Who Love Soda...

I still drink diet soda. I drink it in moderation, my surgeon told me I was never allowed to have it again. I am not the kind of person who can be told they can NEVER do anything again. I dont hurt when I drink it, it isn't stretching me out, and I am still losing weight very rapidly. I see no problem in having a little diet soda when I feel the urge. I used to drink only diet soda, no water. Now I get in all my water and if I decide to have a diet soda I make sure to drink that much more extra water to make up for it. No biggie.
  2. Right after I had my surgery I hated my sleeve. I couldn't eat, drink, or do anything really. It was extremely rough those first 2 weeks or so. I regretted my decision in every way possible. BUT now I am almost 3 months out down almost 50 pounds and I am SO happy. I love the fact that I went thru with this surgery. I eat smaller portions, I make healthier food choices (sometimes not by choice but more by my sleevies choice), and I get in all my fluids and protein everyday. Having this surgery done is not easy, not at all. I am lucky to be a person who had no complications and no issues other than leaving the hospital too early and readmitting myself for some extra R and R. I hated not being able to clean, cook, and take care of my amazing little girl (2 yrs old) when I was first out of surgery. It was all worth it though. I feel like a healthy person now. I can also do things without feeling like the fattest person there too. Good Luck. Just keep reading reading reading and that way you make an informed decision. This is not the easy way out, that's a for sure. But it is worth the pain and suffering lol.
  3. congrats on being sleeved. I have been sleeved for almost 3 months now and I love it. There are times that I get frustrated with it, but overall I am happy, healthy, and still losing weight. Thank you for sharing your story, I enjoyed reading it. Good Luck and congrats again!

    My "large" Size Nsv

This is an awesome post. I had to laugh a little because right before my surgery I went into Victoria Secret and bought a Lrg Sweatshirt and a Lrg pair of "pink" sweatpants. The sweatshirt is now so baggy, and I am still working on the sweatpants being baggy. It was a great feeling though because I see so many girls wearing the Pink brand and I was always jealous because I couldn't fit into them, but now I can. AND so can YOU! It's an amazing feeling. Congratulations on ur succes and keep up the good work.
  6. It gets easier as time goes on. My Doc told me to focus on fluids first and protein second. You do not want to get dehydrated. I don't know where you live but if you have a Sams club they carry a protein drink called Premier Protein. It has 30g of protein and is only about 10 oz big. That is what I drink. I am 3 months out and I still get 90g of protein a day. I usually do not eat solids because I do not like the way food settles in my stomach, so I am still on protein drinks. It does get easier though believe me. I can drink big gulps and definetly drink a lot more than I could at the very beginning. When I was at your stage I still had trouble eating a whole popsicle, so don't worry. Things will be better soon, just focus on hydrating urself and take it slow. Good Luck.

    Emotional!

I feel that way too. Sometimes exercise really helps but at times I feel so crummy that I don't even want to exercise. It will pass just like any other weight loss caused problems. My boyfriend tends to forget that I am supposed to be a walking PMS crazy person, so we have been fighting more often. I'm not worried though I am just sticking to my guns and pushing thru. You will be fine too just keep up the good work and try to stay positive.
  8. you look amazing! keep up the good work.
  9. Mine is to start weighing in weekly instead of everyday. Also, I would like to be able to run 5 miles in an hour, a constant normal jog. I want to lose weight. I also want to live a healthy life and stop thinking like I am on a "diet" all the time.

    Gained :(

You will be totally fine! Try and stay positive and just amp-up your workouts for a while. The gain, like someone else said, could be caused by anything really. It doesn't really mean you gained any fat, it's honestly probably just water. Keep up the good work and stay positive! I have been in a stall since 2.5 weeks post-op and I am still stuck and I am almost 1 month post-op.. During this time the scale has fluctuated anywhere from 1-5 pounds UP and down. It kills me everytime I step on the scale, it's like my body refuses to go under 220 pounds. This is a time I always get stuck during and and all of my diets. I am doing what LilMissDiva has posted about Bootcamp something or another. It's basically a way to get yourself back on track when things seemed to have strayed. You might wanna check it out too. Good Luck.
  11. I always love when men get together and do something that many people think is for "women only". Weight Watchers is one example, I always enjoyed reading what the men wrote online and what they said in groups too. It was always so much fun with the men mixed in and this forum is no different. The men on here crack me up, and a lot of times they are the ones with the best responses. Anyways, just agreeing with you about their forum, I secretly read it too LOL.

    Water/fluid Intake

At my surgeons office we are not allowed to count anything towards liquid except the following: Water non-caloric non-carbonated and non-caffeinated So really that is pretty much water (or flavored water like crystal light), broths, sugar-free popsicles, sugar-free Jello, decaf coffe/tea etc. They have specifically told me milk, Protein shakes (water or milk based) and anything else along those lines do NOT count towards fluids. That's my office though, yours may be different
  13. I agree you should check with your surgeon. I have had this happen once after eating bread and eating too fast. I have heard of it called the "slimes" in other topics. You new tummy mught be intolerant to something and that's why it happened.
  14. I have been going thru it for about 2 weeks now. I started it in week 2 and I am in week 4 now. I get so frustrated. I was 25 miles a week and I get in all my fluids and protein and it still isn't moving. I would love to not step on the scale everyday, but I do. So I get to feel crummy everyday lol. I am sure it will pass, I am about to up my workouts and cut out any extra junk I have let weasel it's way into my diet. Good Luck, it will pass for both of us I KNOW it...!

    Sex & Body Image Issues

Don't worry so much. I can't really talk too much because I have a ton of body image issues as well. I really try and not focus on my body so much. My BF catches me changing and looking disgusted at myself, and he always tells me how amazing I look and he really only sees the positive things. I have talked to many men about this, men friends who are straight not gay lol. Anyways, most men say they don't notice the negative about a woman until she starts pointing it out. That's why men don't usually like the women who can't accept copmliments and are always downing themselves. When I am naked I am thinking saggy boobs, cellulite, and fatness. My boyfriend is thinking "boobies...i love boobies" lol. All I am saying is if he is dating you, and understands what you are going through he already obviously cares for you a lot and I doubt he would care of your shirt was off. It is probably making it worse that you leave your shirt on, your pointing out something that he would otherwise overlook. Good Luck hun, it will all work out. You may find even after your plastic surgery you might find something else on your body you don't like. None of us are perfect, as someone else said.
  16. I am lucky if I hit 600 calories. Everyone is different though. My surgeon and NUT haven't said a specific number to me. They did however say as long as your getting your protein and liquids in the rest will pan out for itself. Right now I am just breaking out of my stall and I am about to limit my carbs. I am almost a month out.
  17. I was sleeved on Nov 30th and as of today I have lost 13-14 pounds so far. I am hoping to get to -15 pounds by a month out which is in 6 days. Everyone on here has done so well, CONGRATS to ALL. I don't know if I am normal or a slow loser but based on the other people sleeved at my surgeons office I am considered a "lighweight". I will be there sooner or later though, I am not giving up.
  18. I find that usually all of my cravings now are in my head. If I crave something though I will taste it, just one bite, even if I have to spit it out. It helps me so much because usually after that one bite I really don't want it. I find that I pick at everything, even my meals. I just don't want to eat anymore. I hate the way it feels when I overeat and I hate that I can't eat as much as I want to. As of now, for me, I prefer to just drink ym protein shakes. I try food every now and then to condition my stomach for food, but mostly just protein shakes and I am almost a month post-op. I am never physically hungry though, ever. Things will start working out better, the beginning is the hardest. Once you can start real food, you won't feel those cravings as much I PROMISE!
  19. I had a hard time with Water for the first week or so, but it did get better. I had to drink G2 because water made me so sick. It does get better, so much better. I am almost a month out and I am doing so much better than I was the first few days. The only problems I have now is mentally. I have a hard time eating a few bites and putting the rest away, I want to eat the WHOLE thing lol. I am glad I made this decision, but at times "fat felicia" as I like to call her will sneak in and tell me I made a big mistake and I could have done this on my own. But fat felicia never got me anywhere and always gained the weight back. So only time will tell for me, and for you too! Good Luck and congrats, you will be feeling better in no time and enjoying your skinny self.
  20. I hope the gatorade helps. If not like everyone else said go to the ER. I went home a day after my surgery and after sitting at home for a few hours I ended up going to the ER and asking to be re-admitted to the hospital. It was just too much at home and I couldn't handle it. Everyone was really nice and understood completely that I was having it rough. Try rubbing your legs and a heating pad too. That always helps me with aches and pains, if the gatorade doesn't help that is. Good Luck.
  21. Merry Christmas! I love this forum and everyone on here.
  22. It sounds like you are doing so great. In no time you will be doing even better and have hardly any pain at all. Congrats and welcome to the losers bench!

    Will I Lose My Hair?

I haven't started losing any hair yet, and I really hope I don't. I love my hair. I actually read this yesterday and didn't reply. Then, last night I had a nightmare that I had bald spots forming on my head and my hair was falling out. I am obviously completely stressed out about this. lol
  25. Amazing! You look great congrats!
