One month after surgery -
I gave up on the medicine cups almost immediately after I got home. My surgery was 11/30/2011. I don't like measuring things because it's too time intensive, and I have a 2.5 year old running around. I just eat what feels right to me. Don't get me wrong TONS of people measure out their food and I think that is really great for them and I wish I could sometimes but I just don't. When I was in Weight Watchers we had to measure out all of our food and I will admit it did help, and in time you just "know" what the right portion is and all that. You will get the hang of it, just take your time and do what feels right.

Your Healthy Go-To Food
Felicia replied to Joiebean's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can't remember the actual name for them refried Beans maybe? Anyways I hated them before surgery and now I love them, we have a place by us called Taco Johns and I get their bean burrito, Yum-o. I can only take like 2 bites but I don't care that's usually my treat for something I have done exceptional like extra miles on the treadmill or something. So are they called refried beans? LoL They are those like smooshed up beans almost like bean dip I dunno whatever. -
Congrats!!! What an amazing accomplishment! I also hit Onederland today and it feels awesome! You go girl keep up the good work!

My restriction usually to me feels like Thanksgiving dinner times 5. Ai feel so full and just yucky. This only happens if I tempt my sleeve by having that extra bite that I know I shouldn't be having. I honestly hate feeling full now. I would choose a Protein shake any day over a meal. My Protein shakes are "safe" and I know I won't feel any restricted feeling, just nice and pleasantly full. My sleeve has altered my mind now and has scared the poopies out of me so I don't ever wanna feel truly "full" like I used to pre sleeve. My restriction is also higher up now maybe like under my ribs or below my breastbone, not in my stomach anymore. So it is really uncomfortable. No way would I wanna try and push it with that feeling going on. Hope this helps! Good Luck!

I do have to take a few minutes in between big chugs too, just wanted to add that in. Overall how I eat and drink are still pretty much the same.. It is what my sleeve does after the bite or drink that influences me. If that makes sense. If I gulp gulp gulp my sleeve doesn't mind but it will say hold off awhile until I can gulp gulp again. Same with bites.. I take more time in between my larger sized bites and always wait to feel my sleeve signal... whether it be good bad or ugly.. to proceed. I am 3.5 months post op BTW and in the beginning I was NOT this way. I sipped, I took small bites, and I generally followed most of the rules. Follow what ur body tells you, like someone else said everyone is different. U wont always have to do it the way you are right now.

Im prolly not the norm but I can drink or "chug" Water just fine. During my 2 hour workout I usually drink 64oz of water easily. It is true that the more water u drink the more easily u lose weight, at least for me it is.. if i dont drink enough water one day I notice a stall on the scale. The more water I drink the faster the scale moves. Could be too that because I am drinking more water I dont have as much time to sneak in other calories that could potentially stall me.

Prayers For Sleeve 4 Me
Felicia replied to peacequeen's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Totally going to keep her in my thoughts! -
I am almost 4 months post op and I take pretty normal sized bites. Cottage cheese, cereal, yogurt, all those smooshy things are fine with normal bites. If it is meat or something like that I will take a normal bite but chew it to death. Anyways to answer ur question no I do not think eraser size bites will be the way u eat for the rest of ur life. Take ur time, do only what u can and rest assured it will all work out in the end. Good Luck!

Bs (Before Surgery) Love The Term & Unhealthy Foods
Felicia replied to bellabbr's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My boyfriend and I were just talking about this. He was reminding me how he used to go out and buy me McDonalds and I would eat 2 cheeseburger, large fry, large coke, and the free cookie for going large LoL and then top it off with a oreo mcflurry. My gawd. I also loved Dairy Queen moolattes and heath blizzards. Ben and Jerrys pints of ice cream too, I could eat a whole one the heath coffee one. I could eat a whole bag of BBQ Krunchers in a sitting. I also loveeeee Reese eggs. I still love them they r my weakness. I could eat like 4 of them before and still be hungry. My life is so different now. I used to be able to eat a 1/2 box of Cereal in a sitting, now I am lucky to eat more than my 2 yr old daughter LoL. And u know what? Thats fine with me. I love my sleeve, most of the time and I am loving the way I look. My boyfriend compliments me constantly, men stare at my booty, and I even catch women staring at me. Woohoo rock those sleevies ladies. -
I Added Negative Findings Of The Operation Because
Felicia replied to hamanyq8's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well I have seen quite a few of your posts now and it seems you are having a really hard time. I will also take you for what you say you are, who am I to judge right. Anyway, I have said this before to you but maybe you didn't read it. The thing is you already had the surgery so I really think you should try and make the best of it. It isn't easy as you know and it's a long hard process. You are not doing yourself any favors by eating the wrongs things and ultimately ending up in pain. Why don't you try going back to liquids and starting over? You could also let us know about your weight loss, how much have you lost? When was your surgery? Where was your surgery? Are you attending any support groupd where you live, you might find that those help you quite a bit, and may help you turn your outlook around. Good Luck. -

You look super cute! I love your outfit. Congrats on all the weigh loss that is such an amazing thing. And like you said don't worry about a slow loss, slow and stead wins the race anyways. -
Love your post! Cant wait to be worrying about the same thing. It will take me some time but i will get there. Congrats on your success!

This sounds just awful I hope that your doctor can help you in finding a solution. It could possibly be gas. Like maybe you have IBS or gastritis. I know I have both and they can cause some serious pain.

Protein Shakes What Do U Like
Felicia replied to Tamig078's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also like the premier protein from Sams Club, it's so good and has 30g of protein per like 11oz. I think they are 11oz ... not 100% sure of that though. -

Flame Free Friday Confessions!

I ate some twizzlers the other day and also some chocolate covered raisins. Also I have been drinking more diet pepsi than I should and not as much water. I am on a mission to do better from now on. I am starting to wonder if my back pain might actually be kidney pain from being dehydrated.
