Hi rxtine....did I read your post right? You really had to go to 90 pre required visits? That's crazy! QofC

Three months away is now Three Weeks!

We're not supposed to put our blog links in these messages (stupid rule if you ask me) but many people, especially new people don't have their signatures turned on so they don't show up automatically. But my blog is www.queenofcrop.com Best to start at www.queenofcrop.com/about and then go from there. QofC

Sounds like you are a good one to blog! I'm thinking of posting some stories of others on my blog once a month. Would you be interested? Basically I would be looking for an ABOUT ME page....take a look at mine and if you want to write one about you, I might be able to use it....sounds like you might have an interesting story to tell....

Congratulations Diamondeyed! You are in for a very exciting 2013!!!! Looks like you have been on this forum for a while so you have an idea of what to expect....just know you will feel a little weird for 6-9 months but every day gets a little better and a little easier and then before you know it, you will be a normal weight person and life will be so much easier in every respect. Don't forget to take before photos....you won't be sorry! And when you have a chance, fill in your photo and profile here...it's nice for others to see who they are chatting with! I recapped my first year on my last blog post if you want to read about what you might expect in your first year. Good luck and enjoy the ride!

    Newbie here...

Hi Janette! You've come to the right place....this forum has been a godsend for many of us...lots of support and information here. You can ask any questions or just browse through and people are very good at responding with their own experiences. You might want to take a look at my blog queenofcrop.com/about I blogged every Sunday for a little over a year; it will give you an idea of what to expect. My last post was a few weeks ago and recapped my year. It will be a little different for you because you are much younger, but in general you'll get the idea. Basically, you are going to feel weird for about 6-9 months and then your stomach heals and you start feeling normal again. But the ride is fun because you are losing weight all the way! Enjoy your sleeve; there are very few people that have regrets.
  6. Great post and I agree with everyone above...you look amazing and very healthy and I love your attitude! I am 15 months post op and I eat about 1500-1800 calories a day; small meals but very satisfying. I live in Europe now and they don't post nutritional information on packages but it doesn't matter because I wouldn't look anyway. I eat pretty much whatever I want and always something sweet with a coffee everyday. I try to get as much Protein in as I can but I don't obsess about it. I live in Amsterdam where I walk everywhere but I also go to the gym about 3-4X a week because I like it now. It's like you said, feeling like a NWP (normal weight person). It feels great. I weigh myself every day and so far after reaching goal at about a year, I bounce between 136 and 139. I haven't gotten back up to 140 yet, but if I do, I'll cut back or work out more. For those of you just considering this, or who have just had it done, you might want to look at my last post on my blog (I blogged every Sunday for a year) but my last blog sort of recaps what my year was like so you know what to expect. I'll post again from time to time but my first year is there for who ever is interested. Good luck to everyone and thanks for this wonderful, logical, reasonable post. You have a great life ahead of you...wish I could have done this when I was your age!

    NSV shout outs

Today, for the first time in YEARS, I sat on the end of my bed, raised my knee to my chest, put my foot also on the end of the bed and cut my own toenails!!! Such a simple little thing but it was really cool. I love my sleeve!
  8. Today I wrote my last weekly post on my blog. 11. My brother is considering this surgery and he lives in Kansas City. His insurance is looking at this and not sure if they will approve because it's relatively new. Does anyone have any experience having this done in KS and with insurance?

    NSV shout outs

So I guess this is a SV and not a NSV, but I made it through the holidays and lost weight! To be honest, I'm shocked because we were in Switzerland and everyone kept feeding us cheese fondue and potatoes! Not to mention lots of sugary goodies....I remember the days before my sleeve and the holidays meant at least a 5 lb gain.....life is good and I love my sleeve! Just wrote my LAST post on my blog A YEAR IN THE LIFE OF A SLEEVER. I posted 24 photos....12 BEFORE and 12 AFTER....all my after photos are the best NSV's ever. HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
  13. Thanks for the nice compliments....but I have been sending out a weekly blog for the last 15 months (every Sunday). Today was my last weekly post. I may update from time to time, but you can always go back and read from the first one! Just go to www.queenofcrop.com/about and go to the bottom to click on the beginning. Slowed Weight Loss

Welcome MsNew!!!! Oh yes, this forum has been a huge support and saviour for so many of us. A great resource when we have questions and people here will empathize with you AND help kick you in the butt if you need it. So glad you found us. I am also one year out...)14 months actually. I have reached my goal weight as far as the CDC is concerned, but I would like to lose 10 more lbs (I am 138 and only 5'3"). I have been at 138 for 4 months....I don't think I'm trying hard enough and like you, I'm starting to eat things I shouldn't. But I do weight myself every single day to be sure I don't gain anything and I am exercising faithfully. Good luck to you and remember there are lots of people here for you! 17. I thought I would post this on the pre-surgery site so people can see what the hardest parts of the first year are; or at least were for me. I have posted them on my weekly blog so take a look. At least for me, out of the ten, there were really only two that were (or still are) hard; the rest is just noise. My blog is www.queenofcrop.com Good luck to all of you who are in the decision phase or waiting approval.
  18. To wanttolive ad bee30: you will soon be on the other side! We're all here for you as you navigate your way through the next few months...you are both in for a very exciting year!!! Be sure to take Before photos (today!) You won't regret it. Hopefully both of you read my blog yesterday...(click on the link below my signature to get to it or just go to queenofcrop.com I wrote in a little more detail what the hardest parts were for me in the last year...and as you will see, it wasn't much. You'll both do great. To MartyMcSkinnystein: love your post!
  19. A year ago, before surgery, when I traveled I took way too many clothes. I never knew what would look right on any given day so I took too many things and consequently, my luggage (and my body!) were way too heavy. And I never felt like I looked good in anything; plus I had to take shoes that I could walk in, which were always ugly. Fast forward a year...I had the surgery, lost 85 lbs, am at at goal...and just spent 10 days with carry on luggage and a pair of boots! All I took was two pair of pants, a few basic tops, 4 scarves (to change things around), a light jacket, a heavy jacket, one dress. And I was set for anything! We went from walking around Prague, Berlin and Frankfurt all day, to getting dressed up for concerts. I had my one year check up and tried to look as nice as I could for that and it was all very easy. When you are thin, travel just gets easier! Oh, and the fact that I could walk everywhere, all day without my feet, knees, hips hurting was so great. Wish I would have had the opportunity to have this done years ago. Photo of my and my husband (and one of my scarves!) at the Charles Bridge in Prague and with my doctor in Frankfurt and another all dressed up at a fancy dinner. More on my blog that I just updated today if you're interested.
  20. One of the miracles of this surgery is the self confidence we get back when we lose the weight and don't have to make jokes about our weight to compensate for the embarrassment of it. Flying still sucks, but for different reasons now!

Supersweetums...thank you for sharing that....I really appreciate it. I'm in Amsterdam and will go for an appt next week, so all of this information is really helpful. A Little Embarrasing...implant - What Size?

Hi there It's all new! Will you let me know what happens when you see the surgeon on 7 Dec? I have asked for an appt too but haven't heard back yet. Would love to know what they say and how much this might cost. You can email me directly at queen@queenofcrop.com Q of C
  25. I remember once when I was flying and I put my tray down and it touched my body...I looked across at my seatmate and saw how far it was from their body...and I thought..."how strange that they don't make these things all the same size!" This was DENIAL in action!!! Now I sit in my seat, cross my legs, play with the extra amount of seat belt that's hanging out just make me smile, put the tray down and it's a long way away! I don't like flying because it's such a hassle these days, but those little things sure make it much more pleasant! I was lucky I never had to get a seat belt extender, but it was pulled all the way out at times!
