  1. Yes mine bugged me a lot. Also at around day 6 or so it started to itch like crazy. It was everything I could do not to scratch. I finally got them out on saturday (day 11) and felt so much better. One is open a bit the side one, but now none of them are bothering me. So it will get better. Just hang in there and don't scratch if you have the urge.
  2. See, that is what I am reading from everyone. I think I am eating too much, how is this possible?? Maybe this is why I am struggling with the weight loss thing too
  3. I was sleeved in Mexico and while they gave me a huge post op package with sample foods and all about the phases, when I called today to ask if I am getting too many calories/proteins/carbs in they told me they don't really know to just eat Protein first and follow the phases. So okay my first negative thing to say about having surgery there My insurance doesn't kick in until the 1st of the year when I can make an appt with a nutritionist so help please. I am 2 wks post op and averaging 900-1000 calories, 70 grams of protein, and about 50 grams of carbs. Is that okay?? I am flying blind here. My husband seems to think I need to up to 1200 because anything below 1200 is starvation. I don't know what to think. Thank you so much.
  4. Oh and typical day : b: 1/2 cup oatmeal with milk 150 calories or 1 scrambled egg 102 3 Protein shakes 390 calories snack laughing cow cheese 35. Usually I have about 2 of these lunch is either some Soup or egg cooked crepe style with some refried Beans and cheese dinner is same lunch or some ricotta and maybe a pudding here or there or an ice pop or tablespoon Peanut Butter. So its good stuff going in but adding up quickly. I was shocked when I tracked this weekend how much calories it added up. I can't even imagine how much I was eating pre op
  5. I seemed to have turned a corner this past friday. Before everything was going down rough and I had to sip, now I can actually take a gulp and not feel bad and I am getting hungrier. Today I tried a little tuna can ate the whole thing. I don't know what happened since friday but my stitches came out and I feel so much better but so worried. and that is what I tried to telling dh. I am 225 I doubt I am in starvation mode. My hair is shiny, my nails are not breaking, I don't think I need to up anything. I think I need to lower it if anything..lol

    Whatcha Eating?

I think way too much. I just tracked everything for the past couple days and I am shocked. But just this week I started feeling better and eating better so breakfast: 1 cup of oatmeal or 1-2 scrambled eggs with cheese Protein shake : 3 scoops. I blend it with ice and do it all at once. Comes out to almost 2 cups. Will drink 1 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon. snack: laughing cow cheese lunch: 1 egg beat made in crepe style some refried Beans and cheese snack: rest of my Protein Shake or a greek yogurt with protein or a pudding with protein dinner: Soup or if I am feeling okay some tuna or chicken salad. I am averaging 900-1000 calories a day 70 grams of protein and some 50grams of carbs. I think its too much my husband thinks its too little and my body is in starvation mode. Who knows ???
  7. I am 11 days post op and today I made a refried bean crepe that was delicious. Just beat an egg, fry it than put refried Beans and a bit of cheese. Roll it up like a burrito. It was heaven. I also did refried beans with ricotta and it was pretty good. I have also cooked black beans with spinach put it through the food processor and it was so yummy. Chobani (greek yogurt) with strawberry and a scoop of chocolate flavored Protein in the freezer for a bit is like an ice cream. 1 tablespoon of Peanut Butter mixed up with one of whipped cream is awesome for the sweet tooth. I can't wait for 2-3 wks post op so I can eat chicken salad and salmon.. I am getting bored too.
  8. I am so frustrated. I blew our savings to have this surgery and now I don't think its working. I have lost 5 lbs and I am 10 days post op. I am getting in my Protein and most of my Water. I am still in the clear/full liquid phase. The only possible thing I can think happened is I eat a pudding because I was so sick and tired of drinking Protein shakes so I add my protein to my pudding and between that and the protein shakes I am at like 25-30 grams of carbs a day. Please tell me there is hope. I am so upset

    What Tastes Good Pureed?

I feel like I am planning for back when my kids first started eating..lol Scrambled eggs, ricotta and refried Beans are awesome. Black beans, some meat and veggies is really good. ricotta tomato sauce and cheese is like the inside of a manicotti. chicken salad is awesome so is tuna. Also I don't put it on a blender I either cook to mush consistency and mash with a fork or use a food processor. Its exactly like making food for when your kids start eating solids..lol
  10. I read the easiest way to get your fruit and veggies is through a monster smoothie. Hand full of spinach, strawberries, banana and blueberries, scoop Protein and scoop of Peanut Butter. Little bit of juice to make it liquify able and you got all your veggie/fruit for the day in 1 8z shot. Give it a shot and see if that helps you. Good luck.
  11. Thank you guys I am just so frustrated. I read about it everything before and after, heard stalls, heard about the diets mentally prepared myself but this 5lbs only?? Never seen it everyone is dropping 15-20 and here I am. Its so frustrating.
  12. That is amazing. I am glad you had such a good experience and 21lbs is awesome. Good job

    Banana Babes

Yeah today I woke up feeling much better. I know it will take time, it just gets so boring the same thing. Dh did add one scoop of protein to my pudding and that tastes delicious. So much better than trying to down another protein shake but still getting the protein. He is a genius and just knowing I am getting my protein but not having to drink a protein shake today is the highlight of my day and make me feel like I can do this. and I hope I get to the point where food doesn't control my life. Right now its just a different control than before..lol
  14. My insurance wouldn't cover. Self Pay in the US was 13-15K and all the doctors in the area I called only had about 50 of these under their belts. I went to Mexico which was 4500 plus a $300 ticket to San Diego and one night stay in a hotel. Everything else was included. My Dr averages 140 of these a month and have never lost a patient, less than 1% leak rate, less than 1% infection rate. The care was way better than I ever received in the US. If a family member wants to have this surgery and their insurance covers it, I would still send them to Mexico to my Dr. You can't beat experience.
  15. Wow you are doing amazing. I will be one week post op tomorrow and have only lost 4lbs Oh greek yogurt got 11 grams of Protein. Beats Protein shakes once in a while, also pudding, flan, Jello and laughing cow cheese and ice pops. About the only thing I can eat now.

    Banana Babes

Thank you guys. I finally added to some pudding and can get those dang pills down. Tonight I am having one of those OMG what did I do moments. I tried eating one teaspoon of mashed potatoes (my surgeon said 1-2 wks on liquid diet) and since tomorrow is one week and I am so sick and tired of broth and protein shakes, I figured I would try it. Nope. I am feeling like I am never going to be able to eat food again or even drink normally. It takes me almost 2 hrs to down one protein shake. I am only getting 50 grams a days not 70 Energy I am fine. I been to the parade downtown, walked around the mall, went shopping. So I am moving but the broth, protein, jello, half pudding cup, ice pops rinse and repeat is really getting old. Tell me it gets better because I am regretting the one thing I wanted the most out of life weeks ago
  17. I am right behind you and feeling great too. I got the Walgreens complete multivitamin/multi mineral liquid (10 bucks) because I still can't take pills. I walked around downtown yesterday, took the kids to see santa at the mall. Knock on wood I feel wonderful too. I did also get a bit of diarrhea but for only 2 days. I been drinking orange low carb gatorade and that seems to have stopped it.
  18. I just read that your body can't really absorb more than 25-30grams of protein per time. So wanting one higher is not a good idea.

    Banana Babes

I had my surgery in mexico and I am waiting on my new insurance to kick in so unfortunately for now I got to suck it up with it. I wonder if I can crush and throw it in the soup. Oh and Brit I got this one : http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_SPM5675421303P?i_cntr=1322970301122 they have chicken and beef. Delicious. Really really good stuff also low sodium. I found it right at Walmart. Try that one. Good luck.
  20. Hey welcome to the clube. I was sleeved on the 29th. My doctor said to not really worry about the protein until next week. This week to make sure I am hydrated. So try on the protein but don't beat yourself up. I can't get protein down right now. I am on low cal gatorade, broths, jello and sugar free ice pops. That is it.
  21. I just did on Tuesday. Had a great experience and would recommend it to anyone. He is highly qualified averages about 140 a month and never lost a patient. Asides from cost, that won out for me and I am so glad I went with him. Good luck.

    Banana Babes

Well I did. I had my surgery in mexico, survived and feeling great and the experience was great. My only issue is heartburn and trying to get the antibiotics down. I cut them I throw it up, I crush them they leave a nasty nasty taste in my mouth. So yeah every 12 hrs I am suffering. Asides from that I am doing good. How is everyone else?? I didn't get home until late last night and miss seeing everyones progress.
