IndioGirl55 So sorry I was refurring to my self. I know how bad of a behavior I have got myself into and do not wish it on any one else. No offense to you.
-
I can not eat bread not even one bite. Pork is also difficult for me. I have given up all fast foods, they all make me sick especially french fries yuck!
-
kbniz, I love your explanation. I PB real often due to getting in a hurry. I stand over the trash can sliming. Every time I say I will slow down, but it happens over and over especially 1-2 weeks after a fill. It is like a learning curve and I am a slow learner. IndioGirl55 please be careful this is not good behavior and your band can slip. I prey the lesson for me will sink in before something bad happens. It is no fun to jump up in a crowd and run for the bathroom. I think I finally have the tenique chew, chew, chew. Good luck.

I go first thing in the morning no problem working. I do not know about the FMLA part.

Has anyone been banded at Premier Bariatrics in Indiana by Dr. Clark?
short1 replied to mnm8077's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I only had one psy. eval. and they mailed the paper work to Dr. Clark's office. I did talk to the dietician twice and attended two meetings. After that it was all about the insurance Co. Good luck! I wish you well. -
Has anyone been banded at Premier Bariatrics in Indiana by Dr. Clark?
short1 replied to mnm8077's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Dr. Clark is my Dr. He and his staff are very kind. I live in Terre Haute, if you have any questions please email. My surgery was Aug. 15, 2007. I am now to the point I can really tell I have lost weight. It was the best decision I have ever made. JP -
I know exactly how you feel, but let me say this you are doing great!!! I have lost 44 lbs. in 32 weeks. I often wonder what I am doing wrong and then realize I am only human. My eating disorder did not go away after being banded. It is a learning process. Some lessons are more difficult than others. You are doing fine stand back and look real hard at yourself. Whan is the last time you lost 23 pounds? Pat yourself on the back.

I agree, mine is medicine. It has a very bitter taste. I also had a bad experience with alfredo sauce. I do not know how on earth there can be so much saliva produced in such a short period of time???

2nd fill, am I okay or just freaking out????
short1 replied to AudricIan's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
AudricIan, I had the same thing happen last week. I have 2.3 in a 4cc band. Everything except Water got stuck for a couple of days. I also had all that burping. It drove me crazy and made my throat sore. That finally went away, but I still have to be careful not to over eat and chew, chew, chew. I have no idea why your Dr. would have told you to eat solids. Mine told me full liquids for 48 hours. Good luck, you are probably swollen. Call your Dr. if it does not go away. JP -
After my 2nd fill I threw up every day for 2 weeks. Finally, after a couple days of soft foods only, the swelling went down and I was able to eat solids again. Call your Dr. and see what they say. Good luck.

amc581, I did not tell anyone at work. I sit in the lunch room only 2 times a week, but it is enough to let them see how hard I am dieting. They finally quit asking how I live on so little food after about 30 lbs. lost. Now they tell me how welll I am doing and ask for helpful hints. If you do not want people to know tell them you are on a dite because you will be. Good luck!

I just need to get this off of my chest. I hate working with most other women. All the drama, the back stabbing, the competition with clothes, jewelry so on. I work in a small lab with one other woman who I get along with quite well. We have similar likes and dislikes and are the same age. Recently a job was posted in our area that sounded a lot like my job. I inquired about the job and got no response for over two weeks. Finally, when I did get an interview for my own job it appeared it was only a formality. The new HR woman who does not like me for who knows what reason had already hand selected a new young girl with no experience to take the job. Naturally, I protesed loudly. I wound up with the job, raise, and this new girl to help me. This sounds good, but the girl is not only a tattle tail, she is a shark in the Water. She has already started telling stories about me to other people and has tried to get a married engineer she has been sleeping with fired. I do not carry much weight in our company and nepotism and cronyism is a real problem. I normally like to fly under the radar, but feel I wiil need to keep my eyes and ears on this girl at all times. I just do not have time for all of this crap in my life. I simply want to do my job to the best of my ability and go home. I hate playing games and despise back stabbers. Any advice on how to handle this new very pretty very young and very threating girl will be appreciated.

Shortie Porties--Banders that are short!
short1 replied to PigsRFlying's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi I am 5'1". Like several of you I alos like 3/4 inch sleves. I hate petit length pants they are too short. Who are these pants made for? I don't like my pants around my ankles, but the regular length are 4-5 inches too long. Maybe my weight has just made them too short. We will see. -
4cc band, perfect fill?
short1 replied to aprilbene's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I got my 5th fill yesterday. I now have 2.3 in a 4cc band. Wow am I tight. I will have to take it very slow, even my meds hurt going down. Full liquids for me for 48 hours. JP -
Hi, My mum had her Op today. I have a few questions.. :)
short1 replied to tokio's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was pretty tired the first two days, but walked a mile on the third. Everyone is different. Make sure she gets plenty of liquids and plenty of sugar free popsicles. Find out how many grams of protein her Dr. requires. I also used a heating pad on my shoulder for the gas pain for several days. If I think of anything else I wiil let you know. Good luck to you and your mom. -
Thanks for the advice. I plan on getting the book "Women's Inhumanity to Women". I will look for tonight after work. Maybe I will even bring it to work and read it on lunch time. Her cubicle is attached to mine so I can leave the book in plain sight. Lindata this girl sound just like your former friend. People here at work are already telling me how sweet she is. I also like the idea of taking notes. I on the computer so much it will not be a problem to do daily if necessary. I like to consider myself a team player and really do not have time for all the drama, but in this case feel I need to defend my job and dignity. Thanks again. JP

I do not miss them. Some of the things were hurtful.

Hi all I need some support. I was banded Aug. 15, 2007. So far I have lost 35 lbs. I was at 40, but gained 4 back. It should be higher, but most of that is my fault. My life is a mess and the more stressed I get the more I snack and I haven't gone to the gym for two weeks. I am so under appreciated at work it makes me sick. I know find another job. Well it is not that easy for a middle aged woman with double knee replacements to start over. I am not a cry baby so please don't take this wrong. Our HR dept. is hiring a lab tech to work with me and have me train. The kicker is she is going to make 11,000 a year more than me:angry: WTF:mad: I have tried to talk to HR several times and went as far as to apply for the job myself. I get no reply. Are they trying to get me to leave? I feel like a failure in both weight loss and my job. Oh crap now I am being a cry baby. Thanks to those who read. JP

News flash. I got the job! I am in shock:w00t:. Maybe my life is taking a turn. I am almost scared to be happy, but I am going to give it a try.

Re-Introduction after 2 years banded
short1 replied to ccar50's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
ccar50, So glad you decided to post. I have a real bad habbit of over looking my accomplishments. If someone says wow you have lost a lot of weight! My reply is well I still need to loose 50 more pounds. What the hell why can't I just say thank you? My self esteem has been low for so long it is hard to be happy for myself. Good point that not only do most of us need to learn new eating habbits, but also new ways of thinking and feeling about ourselves. For me the old negative stinking thinking always gets me in trouble. I used to think it was easier to just play the same old tape over and over rather than change. I now realize how much energy I did and sometimes still do put into working against myself. Hope to hear from you again. JP -
Just wanted to give you all an update. I finally got the interview, and guess what? I am the most qualified and was even told so, however the final decision is not totally on qualifications. This is another way for the company I work for to practice nepatism, cronyism, and weed out undesirable people like myself (too fat, don't wear low cut tops, I think you get the picture). The good news is I have lost 4 pounds!!! All of you are correct in saying I am more important than any job, and West Coast Fat Guy it is true I would never have any of these people in my life if it were not for work. It is too bad we often have to work at places where we are not appreciated. Between my family and all of you I hope to just be appreciated for me. I will know for sure this Friday about the job. No matter what I am the one in control of my eating and weight loss, I just need to be reminded every now and again. Jack my jets are fired and I do have a plan B. I changed my user name due to it was my first initial and last name. I wouldn't want any from work to figure out who I am. JP
