    Afraid To Tell

    Yay! Excited for you!
  2. I take the generic form of Pepcid each day and have only had to use my anti-nausea meds once. I used pain medicine off and on the first week after surgery, but then I no longer needed it.
  3. I absolutely loved spicy foods before surgery and now I don't tolerate them well at all. Both salsa and buffalo sauce have made me throw up. It makes me sad, but I am hopeful that will change eventually. For now I am trying to play it safe.
  4. That's awesome! Feels so good removing those old sizes from the closet!

    Would You Have Done It?

I had no comorbidities and I did it! I thought of it as a preventative measure.

    Coffee Caffenated

My surgeon allows coffee after 30 days. I just started having a small cup in the morning around my 5th week. So far I am doing fine with it, but drink a much smaller serving than I used to.

    Help :(

I have lost 23 lbs at a little over 6 weeks. Stop worrying.. you are way ahead of the game! Stalling is perfectly normal and will happen many times during the process. Just focus on following your plan and the rest will happen at its own pace.
  10. Downloaded it. This will definitely come in handy!
  11. Congratulations on your amazing weight loss this year and I hope your surgery is all that you hope for! Best of luck!
  12. One day at a time is a good focus. You can do it!
  13. My surgeon says no alcohol for a year. I know many people don't stick to those guidelines. I don't know that it would do physical harm, but I won't risk it for quite a while I don't think.
  14. Thanks! I know you are right! I also tried it moist from the crockpot with buffalo sauce and that burned all the way out (if you know what I mean! lol) Chicken is off my list for a few weeks.
  15. Chicken is the only meat I just don't seem to tolerate too well (of what I have tried so far). I did get about a third of a chick fil a grilled breast down once and it tasted amazing. However, I felt uncomfortable for over an hour afterward. Guess I am still not ready for chicken even at 6 weeks.
  16. I had a 10 day stall in week 5 and although I was also prepared, it bummed me out totally. It suddenly broke after doing nothing different and I have lost 5 lbs in less than a week. I wish I understood why these happen, but of course they seem to happen to everyone! Hang in there! You will go the other direction soon!
  17. I didn't know what to say before, but I have been following this thread from the beginning. I am so very happy that your stent was removed and that you are feeling better. I felt so bad about your predicament. It sounded really tough. I hope it gets much easier from here!
  18. Be patient with yourself. I only lost 17 lbs the first month. Then I stalled for over a week. Now I have dropped 5 lbs in the span of less than a week. It is so strange how the body loses weight. I keep being reminded that it will come off, but I can't control the pace! I have dropped a size so far at 6 weeks out and the next size down fits, but is too snug to wear.
  19. It really does get better every day. Let yourself rest if you are tired. At 6 weeks out, I still find myself taking frequent naps. I guess my body needs them, so I don't fight it. Definitely continue to force yourself to drink. It is super important to stay hydrated. Welcome to the other side of surgery!

    Why Am I Starving Today!

I have had maybe 3 days like this since surgery where I feel like I could just keep slowly eating all day long. I may be strange, but I don't fight it. Maybe it is my body's way of letting me know it needs a little more that day. Usually I feel totally normal the next day. As long as you are sticking to your meal plan, I wouldn't be too worried.

    5.5 Months Removed....

That sounds like a very exciting and challenging PhD! Glad your successes are a catalyst for more success to come! You can do it!

    Onderland!

Congratulations! I can't wait to join you. It's right around the corner and I can't wait!
  24. I brought all kinds of stuff with me to the hospital and literally used none of it. I had one pair of comfy clothes that I arrived in that I also wore when I left. I used my toothbrush and briefly used my laptop in between snoring from pain meds. That was seriously all I touched. They provide the lovely gown and socks and the high quality crystal light and Jello.
  25. Powerade Zero and Propel are my top 2 favorites. I didn't have trouble getting fluid down at all, but I had to drink so slow that it was frustrating and seemed like lots of work. It is so important though... force yourself. It will be easier to take bigger sips as you move along your journey.
