  1. Wow. 7 months would be more trying than 3 weeks for sure! Congratulations on all your success! Love seeing people still doing well so far out!

    1Mo Po & I've Gained Weight:(

I can totally relate... my weight loss has been quite slow compared to many others. Then at 7 weeks out I stalled at 201/202 for 3 weeks. Talk about frustration. I broke that stall this morning. We all just have to hang in there. Our bodies have a mind of their own. It happens to all of us, but when it is happening to you it feels like you are all alone.

Bye Bye Stall 3 Pds 166 From 223 W/pic Update

Congratulations! I broke a major stall today as well! Isn't it great when that happens? You are looking great!
  5. I used to love that feeling of being "full" before surgery. After surgery, I have to pay close attention because one bite too many and it feels like it is in my throat! This sleeve truly is a behavior modification tool. If you push the boundaries, you know it and won't do it again!

    Can't Sleep

I am almost 10 weeks out and I promise it gets better every day! I was so overwhelmed for weeks and finally things started to feel normal again. It's a new normal, but all the uncertainty really does pass. Hang in there!

No Weight Loss For Going On 3 Weeks.....wth!

I have been stalled at 201 for 2.5 weeks. I also was prepared through reading, but it still is affecting me. It is the frustration of the stall and being so close to Onederland and not getting there day after day. I know it will move, but the weight loss is happening waaaaay slower than I anticipated with a surgical intervention. I guess I'm not giving encouraging advice, but just wanted to say that I understand.

    So Frustrated With Eating Out!

Yep... I have such a hard time eating out. I have gotten sick every time (Today was the 3rd time since surgery). I ordered a size of broccoli and a small baked potato to keep it cheap and simple. Couldn't even eat the broccoli without excusing myself from the table. It's not just the amount of food. It is the way it is so heavily spiced. I never noticed that until after surgery. My stomach is much more sensitive.
  10. I am still learning my sleeve too. I prefer to barf rather than be in an hour of pain. It has only happened a few times and it is usually when I am eating without paying close attention to my signals. You take that one bite too many and you are like UGHHHHHH!
  11. I am so glad you went to the ER when you did and I am so sorry to read you have a leak. It is surprising you had no symptoms especially since you were so far out. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

How are you feeling now? Any update?
  14. So glad to read that you don't have a leak. So sorry to hear you are fighting an infection, but you are in the right place to get rid of it quick. Sending prayers your way...

    Mood Swings

I have been so incredibly grouchy this weekend. I am afraid to be around people lest I lash out!! LOL Not only have I been grouchy, but tired. I fall asleep every time I sit down. P.S. I might be less grouchy if I hadn't been on a stall for like 12 days!

    Woot! Woot! Back To Onederland!

Breaking a stall is such an amazing feeling. Good for you!!
  17. Congratulations! That's great!
  18. Guilty... I didn't weigh for like 6 months prior to surgery and now I jump on the scale every time I pee! It's ridiculous. I think I am going to put it in the closet.

    Boohoo :-( I'm Back In The 200S

    Encouragment

I love this advice. I feel I am losing very slow. I seem to lose one week and then go up and down a few lbs the next week before I lose again. I know I am doing things right, so I have to relinquish "control" over the process. I think we all have to focus on the right behaviors and let the weight loss happen in its own time frame. I am trying to love and appreciate my body. I have put it through a lot and now I am learning to nurture and care for it. You are not alone. This is a mental process as much as it is a physical one!

    Considering A Real Diet

Crosswind... I can TOTALLY relate to this statement. I turned 40 last year and decided I was done torturing myself with dieting. It has been a lifelong career like you said. That is exactly why I got weight loss surgery. You have done so well and I really appreciate your balanced approach. I can totally understand wanting to do a last ditch effort to get to the end. I might contemplate something similar. I would think that you could do that and go right back to the way you have been eating all year. Just be careful that it doesn't start the "cycle" again. Only you can know if it will.
  22. Agree with what everyone else said. I also read something the other day that mentioned that drinking can push the food out quicker and cause a similar sensation to "dumping". The article said that the goal was to keep food in the stomach as long as possible. This has been the hardest rule for me, but I just distract myself right after I eat and I find the time passes faster than I anticipate.

    Cold Drink Intolerance

I can tolerate cold at 7 weeks, but I am starting to naturally prefer room temp. I find I can drink it more quickly and it just seems to go down easier.
  24. I was so glad when surgery was finally over because the roller coaster of emotions finally had a chance to rest. What you are feeling is absolutely normal. It's just a mixture of excitement and fear of the unknown. You will be on the other side very soon!
  25. Great advice, Cheri! I have been adding some healthy carbs back in and feel so much better. As for stalls.. Mine come every 3 to 4 lbs. Hate them, but try to just keep going in the right direction. I have read enough to know they are totally normal.
