Do you look older since you lost weight?
KateMarie replied to LynRN's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My plastic surgeon said it's very common for weight loss patients to come to him for a face lift, including 25 year olds. I'm hoping my face 'levels' out as I maintain my current weight. -

Anyone have a hiatal hernia/sleeve repair surgery?
KateMarie posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Has anyone had a hiatal hernia , acid reflux surgery and sleeve repair post sleeve? Painwise, this has been worse than the orginal sleeve but I now have some relief from the relux. It was so bad that I had pneamonia 5 times since being sleever 9/11, my throat and nose were raw from the acid 'fumes' and I haven't vomitted since the surgery this past tuesday 2/12. -
I'm about 15 months post sleeve and have had complications since the 6 month mark. Severe reflux, nausea and pain. It is all day, every day. I've been on numerous meds with little relief. Has anyone else dealt with Bile Reflux? I've read that the most common fix is the Roux n y...I did the sleeve to avoid that surgery but if it stops the pain and allows me to lose the rest of my weight, I will do it. I haven't lost a single lb in 9 months because I eat crackers all day to keep the vomitting to a minimal, especially at work. I regret this surgery every single day.

For the first time, I get to report a loss! I am 203.4 today. I have reported a weight since the thread started. This 7lb loss feels amazing and so motivating. I'm at 115lbs total loss. :-D

The surgeon is going to do another surgery to fix the reflux. It's so severe that the radiologist that did the upper GI was afraid to let me lie flat once she saw the amount of acid being pushed back up. I'm going to start the Basic Bootcamp this week. That is a great idea. If I could just see small progress, I wouldn't feel like such a failure. THanks for the support. I feel defeated. :-(

Each week, I watch as my email fills up with the successes of the people of the page. I have yet to post because I have not had a successful week in almost 6 months. I'm filled with jealousy and disappointment. The last six months have been filled with complications, pain, asthma, vomitting and nausau and now, an additional surgery is scheduled. I am 11 months out and after dropping 100lbs in 6 months, I haven't lost a lb in 5 months. I'm not giving up. I'm on a new medication to deal with the extreme acid reflux that leaves a horrible burning in my stomach and throat. Now, I have less urge to eat to soak up that nasty acid feeling. I've worked out a meal plan and My goal for this week is to post that I've lost 2lbs on the 9/1 Super Saturday Weigh In. Wish me luck. :-D

The Last Time I Ask About Hair....i Promise!
KateMarie replied to jailynn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 9.5 months post op and 100lbs down. I have also lost about 50% of my hair. I take 10,000mg of biotin a day. I aim for 70gm of protien daily. Some days I get more. Some less. I just read up on silica. It's supposed to work wonders in our situation. I'm really hoping the hair comes back soon. I'm getting married in just over three month and don't want to be bald! Good luck. -
Has anyone had to have an acid reflux surgery after being sleeved? I'm 9 months out and have horrible acid reflux that has lead to severe ashtma. The dr is discussing doing another surgery. I'm almost hoping for the surgery. At this point, I'm eating more to try to 'soak up' that nasty acid feeling that I have all day.

Stalled At 2 Weeks Post-Op.
KateMarie replied to KristieAtkinson's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was in your boat a few times since my sleeve on 9/13. Everyone said it will pick back up. They were right. It does. I know it's hard to understand because of the limited calories but it's has more to do with your body fighting the starvation mode. When this happens to me, I don't weight myself for a week. Try that. Keep going. Drink a lot of water. Good luck! -

Leaping my glorious boobs does suck but I'm almost 100lbs less than 8 months ago and I started training for a 5k today. I will take my Heath over big boobs any day. Plus, I wa serious about buying new ones. I will have perky full D's!

I have been a DD since I was 15 regardless if I was 135lbs or 300lbs. Now, I'm down Almost a 100lbs and they are so gross. They look like deflated balloons. My boobs were always my 'good feature'. Not any more. I will be buying new ones too.

I started at 311.5. I'm at 218.5 now. My dr set my goal at 145. My goal is 180 and then I will see how I feel. I'm 5'10". I don't need to be a size 5. I have almost 40lbs to my first goal. As for junk, I'm eating a tiny bit of chocolate occasionally but not much. My 'junk' is Peanut Butter crackers. I hated peanut butter before surgery. Now, I have this gross acidy feeling in my stomach and mouth at all time so I eat the crackers to 'soak' it up.

Don't get me wrong, I'm pleased with the 92lbs but to not see that scale move in months is so discouraging. Especially since this is the time when we should be losing the most. The depression from lack of losing just triggers the eating. It's a vicious cycle. Im going to take some of the advice and start journaling again and go back to liquids for a few days to 'detox' of the crap that I ate. I
