  1. So, I had my surgery Nov. 23rd & I am 97 lbs down as of TODAY!! I am so super stoked. I have been exercising my AZZ off & it has worked. I can't believe how blessed and happy I am. Now.... the pics. vs before
  2. I skate 2 hrs of roller derby twice a week (barring my bruised up tailbone) I go to the YMCA for 50 min cardio 3X a week & I do strength training here and there. I need to get on the AB TRAIN so I can look better. If I did not exercise, NO WAY I would be where I am today.

Hey, checking in! It has been a while. Since my surgery on Nov. 23rd, I have lost 97 LBS!!!!!! WOOOOOOO HOOOOOOO! Feeling great!
  4. 70 LBS DOWN TODAY!!!! Boooooooooom! Victory is SWEET! I have some setbacks: -Ate some CRAP sugary food over the last 3 weeks. Stalled my A$$ off! -Stopped killing it at the gym due to a Derby Injury NSV's: I bought several XL things including an adorable dress & they all FIT AWESOMELY! That is regular ladies XL, not 1X.... just to clarify (& gloat) I bought a size 12 REGULAR WIDTH strappy ridiculous heels that SCREAM Vegas (will be there in one month!) I was up to a 13W before surgery. I am currently wearing a tank top from the JUNIORS section. it has a multi-color zebra pattern & I think I'm going to wear it to the gym later! I can sit in the school chairs that have arms on them now. I can walk up to the third floor apartment of a friend of mine & I can still breathe!! My collarbones exist... and they are LOVELY! So, pretty damn good if you ask me. I have many more victories than setbacks & I start regular practices with the Charlotte Rollergirls Derby team IN ONE WEEK EXACTLY! L-O-V-I-N-G my new life~ ALSO.... CHECK OUT MY VIDEO BLOG ON YOUTUBE. More about my derby adventures there. Link is in my signature. I would love your feedback!!!!

Well, we almost have 1 month until V-day & I am 287 this morning. I would love to lose down to 265 by V-day! That is 22 lbs, but I am an overachiever. Let's see!
  6. I am almost 8 weeks post-op & I have had pizza! Don't worry. You will not have to live a life without it

    Sushi Recommendations?

I had sushi last night for dinner. I ate about 1/3 a bowl of egg drop soup first, then I had a Philadelphia roll with light rice. It was cut in to 6 pieces & I was able to eat all 6 pieces exactly as I ate them before. I just picked it up, dipped it in the wasabi soy sauce & YUM! I just chewed well, but I tolerated it without any issue. I LOVE that my bill was $13 & I also paid for my son's kid meal in that!!
  9. I had one glass at Christmas, about 1 month out. It burned a little, so I stopped. At nearly 7 weeks out, I had 4 glasses over a period of maybe 4 hours. I did NOT feel drunk at all & it went down fine. Losing steadily!

    Male NSV here (possible TMI)

    Awesome topic haha
  15. I was sleeved November 23rd & as of this morning, I am down 25 lbs since surgery & 43lbs with pre-op diet! I feel SO FREAKING GREAT, It should be illegal. I had an exemplary recovery. No pain, no nausea. I did throw up twice, on the same day about 2.5 weeks post op, otherwise... NADA! I just got done eating 2 oz of thai basil curry chicken & two small mushrooms (it was take out). I get all the protein in each day without fail. I am drinking a 26Gram protein shot after my workouts at the Y. I have a whole oatmeal packet or cheese grit packet for breakfast when I work out in the morning. Otherwise, I have eggs. I can eat 2 eggs if they are poached, but can only eat one if they are scrambled with cheese. I tolerate everything.... and it can be a bit scary. I had a small (lighter size) piece of chocolate cake on Christmas. I had one glass of wine. I really feel absolutely normal besides the fact that I can't eat a large amount of anything. Fluids aren't as easy to get in as they were at first. Eating really screws up drinking because you have to wait 30 minutes! As for exercise, I am exercising my A$$ off!! I have been doing eliptical for 30 minutes and arm weights several times a week, as well as roller skating (to get ready to try and do derby). I just got cleared at 4 weeks to do anything. YAY! I added abs in today at the gym & it went well.... besides being kinda pitiful. haha I can see SUCH a change in my body. I feel strong. I look good. I am really really really HAPPY that I did this & now my brother is thinking about having the surgery!

Sounds like you all are doing awesome!! I am now a little over a month out & down 42 lbs since a week before surgery. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT. I feel incredible. All my clothes are getting way too big & I am roller skating and/or going to the gym at LEAST 5 times a week. I also had a few bites of chocolate cake yesterday & it went down fine. I feel perfect!
  18. My surgery was 3 weeks & 3 days ago & I have lost 39 lbs!
  19. My pants are starting to be ridiculously huge.... I LOVE IT! I am a bit of a clothes hound & went through all of my stuff the other day. It is happy AND sad. I worked hard for that wardrobe & Lane Bryant has seen thousands and thousands of my dollars! I am passing the things to my sister that are her style & I guess I am going to ebay the rest of them! It is exciting to start fitting in the clothes that were too small but you held on to them, JUST IN CASE!

    Relationship With Food

I always knew I had a bad relationship with food, but now I feel like I can get around the hunger, take a breath & actually change it. That is the magic in the sleeve!
  21. I had daily pain in my knee & foot for more than a year. Now, less than 2 weeks out, I have NONE! It is amazing how 31 lbs can change something so dramatically! Also, BP has been around 130/90 for about a year & I had it checked on Friday & it was 102/75
  22. Is this normal? I can easily drink 8+ oz of water an hour if I let myself. I can take large, normal drinks & it doesn't hurt at all. Protein shakes are thicker & I can FEEL them go down more, but not painful. I do take smaller drinks of those to avoid the trapped air feeling. I just don't want to jack my sleeve up at 1 week post op, but sip sip sipping constantly is driving me nuts & I am tolerating it well. SO, what is your advice/experience?
  23. 2.5 months from thinking about it to SLEEVED! I am 6 days post op & I FEEL FANTASTIC! My recovery has been a complete breeze. I know I made the right decision!

Thought I would give my update here! I am now 2 days post op & feeling pretty dang good! My drain came out the about 26 hours after surgery. I have had very little pain besides when my sister's DOG ran across my stomach last night! YOWZA! No vomiting at all since surgery & my nausea is nil if I take my zofran. I found a protein shake that was a little thinner & has 50g of protein in each 14 oz! It has been making my intake much easier. I got to take a shower today & that made me feel MUCH more human. I really have NOTHING to complain about so far. My surgeon & his PA described my surgery as perfect & beautiful! I also apparently have a "beautiful liver". HA! Who knew!? I got some cool photos of the surgery. I did have a small hiatal hernia, so he repaired that as well. I hope things continue to go smoothly! YAY!! Time for all the real work AND THE CHANGE!
  25. Surgery at 7:30 am! Just had my lovely bowel prep drink, IN A WINE GLASS, of course! I am excited, nervous & occasionally freaking.
