    September bandsters Progress

Exactly Teresa - you won't have complete restriction the first fill but it will help you get there. I am still losing, so it isn't so bad. Just the thought of waiting until December gets me down! Good luck with your fill!

    Any September bandsters out there???

Mermaid - don't give up. Go to your dr and check in. That is the only way he will find out what problems (like hunger) you are having and be able to help you (give you a fill)! Hang in there, not everyone loses right after surgery, that is why they give fills! I have my two week check up this afternoon, just meeting with a nutricianist!
  8. Yes Kimmie - I posted that on some of the other boards and can't stop this poll now - but we are the Finer Niners!

    Exercise?

I am anxious to get back to the gym too! I want to tone before anything else starts hanging!!! I believe it is 6 weeks for gym stuff and now for the walking outside - easy brisk walking.

How much weight have you lost

I think the protein shakes make a big difference. I am supposed to still be on mushies for two more days but can't handle it. I was so dang hungry. I am eating like normal (smaller portions though). I am eating my protein first and then my veggies and then carbs. Boy is it making a huge difference. I was worried because I was so hungry all the time and my dr doesn't do the first fill for THREE months out of surgery. So, I won't be getting my first fill until December!

LOL mandi - I so know what you mean! I love watching Paula Deen and have to control myself now! She makes yummy fattening foods! I will have to learn how to tweak some of them! I am glad to hear that your ooozzzing was nothing, sometimes you just have to worry though. I totally understand!

    Banded yesterday...have questions

just banded- during my mushies stage, I ate refried beans with cheese and light sour cream for my protein. Beans are a good source and so is cheese. I hope this helps you.

Superstu58 - do you live there in Modesto? I used to live in Oakdale and miss it all very much! How are you doing with your band? How much weight have you lost?

    September 07 Roll Call

Well, I hope it all turns out ok. Worst case senerio, I guess you could always go to your pcp if you feel you need it looked at and your surgeon doesn't have the availability. If it concerns you, then you need to have it looked at. Good luck!

    Any September bandsters out there???

Yes, and we still have some newbies finding us...but I figured the month was over and there weren't very many other voters going to it. Did you vote?

    September bandsters Progress

I am so envious of all of you! I have to wait until December for my first fill! Let me know how they go. Do your drs do them flora or just with the needle and sip test?

    September 07 Roll Call

Mandi - Have you called your drs office? What did they recommend for you? I hope it is going better now. Everyone from the 28th surgery day seems to be doing great! Libby - Isn't it horrible that people are having this surgery and KNOW nothing about what they are doing??? It just amazes me!

Mandi - my first one was the day after surgery. Everyone gets either constipated or lets loose, so to speak. Hope you aren't having to many issues with it. Remember you aren't getting in nearly the amount of food now!

    September 07 Roll Call

Wow Mandi78 - you are a trooper for getting on so quick. I am glad to hear that you are feeling great. As for my gas - it didn't come until the middle of the night on the first night, I hope yours stays away! I am still having problems getting comfortable to sleep, but the first couple days post-op I slept in a recliner. I couldn't even get into my bed. I am not in bed and still uncomfortable at night. My dr only said water the first day and then broth and gatorade the second day. Each dr is different, so follow your dr and your instincts of course! Good luck and how you do even better tomorrow! Good luck on getting some rest!

    Any September bandsters out there???

Wat to go eastxnurse! Keep up the good work - aren't you so glad you did it? Bigboy - my friends hubby is obvisously a male and he has to take in only 30 (advice from same surgeon). I have an Aunt that was banded in May and has to take in between 60-85 I believe. She has lost some hair and was told she didn't take in enough protein and that is why her hair is falling out? Have you heard of that one?
