Hello Everyone, Haven't been around much, busy week, suspending and kicking out bad eggs like crazy. Tomorrow is a fun day for the kids who didn't misbehave during testing week, so I tried to get as many out as I could. That way I won't have as many behavior problems tomorrow. 4 more wks, give me strength !!!! This week went by so fast. Oh, yesterday I saw colors, Aura, It's a visual disturbance that used to happen to me when I was young. I eventually figured out from a friend who was having the same problem that it was birth control pills. I could not take them, they caused the auras. Some people get it before migraines, but I didn't get a headache with mine. So it happened yesterday at school for about 1/2 hr, and I have no idea why. It hasn't happened in 10 yrs. since I took progesterone for a cyst on my ovary. I have been having a headache all day. I hope it was a flook, and won't happen again. A lady at work said her husband kept seeing stars and the dr said it was silent migraines, so I googled it. That looks like what it is. It's like the T.V.'s on the fritz.

Hello Everyone, I am getting very sleepy. I don't remember if I told ya'll about the drama with my Mama last week. Unbelievable. I saw her yesterday, and she was doing fine, and asking for Cheetos. She called my house and asked me to bring her Cheetos. She calls me today and askes me to get her crawfish etouffee. What the hell, do I look like Hello Deli? Phyl- Congrats on the L tops, fantastic!! I took a nerve pill so I could go to sleep because I am a serious night owl. It's kicking in. TTFN

Not only are schools required to follow sp ed laws. Lawyers for sp ed are free. Only suspended students are not allowed to go on field trips at our school; Major behavior problems. I'll give you an example: The kid who shit in a classroom for lunch on Monday is a major behavior problem, especially since he most definitely DID NOT WIPE!!!!!!!

Karri- If you really need a job, they are abundant down here. You're hubby wouldn't have trouble getting one either. The dr. released my Mom from the hospital yesterday straight from ICU back to the nursing home. Wed. is the first day in 7 days that she had eaten anything, and it was only a smigeon. So she gets to the nursing home last night, and I am waiting there for her so I can help her shower. She comes in on a strecher with emts. She is coughing, and says shes spitting up bile. The nurse takes her temp and it's 102. The nurse calls 911, and sends her back to the hospital. I spend the night in the ER with her. She had no fever when we get there, nurse at home gave her Tylenol. She never throws up, and barely complains. In the wee morning hours they ship her back to the home in ambulance. I go to the home. As soon as she gets there, she spitting up again and complaining of pain. We were in the ER for 6 hrs and she never complained! They give her vicodin and phenergen. I went see her a little while ago and she says over and over, "I don't feel good, I don't feel good." I go tell her nurse. She's not throwing up. So I don't know, is she really feeling terrible, or is it a severe Nursing Home allergy? IDK, but I can't do anything about it. It's just weird that she never threw up or complained in the ER. They also didn't give her any of her regular meds in the hospital, so maybe that is why she feels terrible. She takes 3 antidepressants, and was without them for 1 wk. 2 days without regular meds causes nasty withdrawals. SO stastus ??????????????? Janet- TTFN : from Winnie the Pooh Ta Ta for Now

Hey Everybody, I'm way behind on post, don't know when I'll get to read them. Mom still in ICU, they still don't know where the infection is coming from. Waiting on biop results from colon. She will not eat. Had bread and vanilla wafers last night on her tray. She wouldn't even put one in her mouth. She lives for bread!! She says they taste horrible. ???? I'm going on the treadmill. Karla- Even after almost two yrs. if we go on liquids it tightens up our bands. That's why people do the pouch test. It is my opinion, which a little more than opinion because I have a band and the person who told you to go straight to solids probably doesn't, that you must eat mushies first or solids are going to hurt. I say do mushies, or put your solids in a blender. Take advantage of the tightness as long as you can. It is going to go away, and if your dr. is slow with fills you may take mts. to get it back. Can you tell I'm a little P.O.ed at know it all drs.?

They have my Mom in ICU. She had diar..... and vomiting so bad that she dehydrated. She has some kind of infection they can't clear up. When she went in on 3/25 for 2 weeks, she had an infection. They released her last Wed. I put her in the nursing home. She stayed for a week then back to the hospital with an infection again. They didn't clear is out the first time. They are giving her cipro and something else for infection and pain meds when she wants. She is sleeping most of the time. This has been my day today: got home at 3 am from hospital, fell asleep near 4, woke up at 7:30 to get ready for my 9am dr appt. which turned out to be torture, see next paragraph. Take tylenol and a sip of vicodin at 8:30. 8:35 the phone rings. DD is stuck in the CBD and her car is dead. DH has to leave me alone at the dr. and go jump her car. On to dr. I got laser treatment on spider leg veins. Son of a @#!$% it HURT!!!! and I took vicodin before I went.If that's what a tattoo feels like, HELL NO!!!! It felt like I was being stuck with a needle 1/4 inch deep into my skin and twisted over and over and over non stop for 30 minutes. Torture!!!! Went to nursing home to get Mom's clothes to wash and find her teeth. Spill a glass of coffee in the car and into my brand new purse which is the 1st purse that I can truly say I LOVE!! Hubby drives while my vicodin wears off, I didn't take much. Come home, hubby takes pain meds. to go get a root canal. I drive him. I wait for 1 1/2 while they work on him. They can't reach the root, they have to send him to a specialist. We leave and go get Chinese food. Get home, DH went to school from CBD, car is dead again. Someone jumped it for her. Now we have a car to fix. Eat a few bites of Chinese. Puke, try again, Puke. They hell with it. Have to get to ICU before 2:30. I go to the hospital. They are giving her pain meds. which keep her sleeping pretty much. They will run more tests tomorrow. Headache starts, probably because I didn't eat anything today. I have to take tylenol when I get home, doesn't work, take another sip of vicodin. I only have about an ounce left. Whoa is me!!! I have a trip planned for this weekend in The Woodlands, TX. with 8 girls I went to school with. I am driving and one girl is riding with me. DD is coming and staying with a friend. If I back out my friend won't have a ride, and I REALLY want to go. I have never been away without DH before. It's a panic attack problem. I need to do this, and I want to. Tomorrow they are running more test on Mom. I will go see her tomorrow morning, then leave from here for Houston about 10:30. If they need me, I'll fly back and leave the car with DD and my friend to drive home. I really don't think Mom will get worse in the hospital. They need to clear up the infection and figure out wants causing it. It may be the leg that had the blood clot in July and was also infected. They probably never cleared that infection. Her leg has remained red and shiney. The dr. said mts. ago that it was just a rash and not infection anymore. I said how can you tell it looks the same. She said I can tell the difference cause I'm a dr. I shoulda got that on tape. I can call my brother if she needs someone, and my DH will be here. He's a gem, he will help if I need him. So, unless things are worse tomorrow, I'm going. I'm trying to pack and hoping things are gonna work out.

I got a call at 6 from the nursing home. They are sending my Mom back to the hospital. She had diar...... when I left, so the nurse gave her something. It didn't stop, and she started throwing up. They are concerned about the hernia, so I'm getting ready to go to the hospital.
-
Hi Everyone, Just got back from visiting Mom and turning in her Medicaid application. Her stomach is hurting her. She has a hugh hernia in her lower adomen the dr said he would not operate on. I don't think he thinks she could handle the operation. I don't know if that's the reason for the stomach ache. DH's Dad is also in the hospital again, he was just in a few weeks ago for peeing blood and he is again. He has prostrate cancer that has spread to the liver. He's 83.

Steph, you are so lucky. I wish I could still snuggle my baby. I'm not even allowed to touch him. I knew this day would come. I used to make him swear when he was little that he would never stop kissing and hugging me. HE LIED!!!!! A LOT!!!!! I getted kissed when he wants cash.
-
Steph- I agree with Janet. A spine is not something to play with. What if you do some kind of damage to yourself? Walk only, don't jump around. Phyl- Have a safe and lovely trip. I went to curves today. I'm gonna go walk on the treadmill. I thought it was around 6:30. I just looked at the clock, it's 7:30. AHHHHHHH!!!! Where does the time go? I have to fill out the medicaid appl. for my Mom. It's a pain in the butt. They want a lot of paperwork. I'll have to go to DH's work tomorrow to make copies since I don't have work this week.

Do you floss your teeth?
mango24 replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Brush morning and night, floss everynight with unwaxed floss, have my own dental pick for minor scraping of the lower front teeth which always get minor plaque buildup which the dentist said is front the saliva glands, use a sonic care toothbrush Mom always took us to the dentist every six months and we NEVER walked out without cavities. I TRULY believe healthy teeth were filled to make money. Therefore, my entire back teeth are nothing but fillings and will probably not last me to 60. My husband is the same. My kids had the same oral hygiene as me as a youngster and they each have 2 small fillings. I can remember going to the dentist and him saying, she has 4 this time, she has 3 this time....... Yeah right, like I brushed with sugar and gargled with syrup. I have to take xanax to go to the dentist now because of that beast! -
HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!!! We just got back from camping today. We had a good time. Went visit Mom when I got back. She is trying to lay a guilt trip on me. I have to keep reminding her she gets 4 shots a day. She says, "I do?"

Simon gave Adam a standing ovation. Go on American Idol's website and you can watch the songs. My Mom went in the nursing home tonight. I went bring her her things and give her a shower. While she was drying off; I went to move her bed. On the floor were pastel hershey kiss wrappers all over behind the bed. The lady in her rooms daughter was there so I told her to look at the mess. She said they didn't even look behind the bed. So I go dress my Mom and make her brush her teeth. I go pull her covers back, and low and behold a bag of hershey kisses in the freakin bed. Her roommate said, "I gave her those." I said, she's diabetic she can't have this. She said, "Oh, I'm diabetic too." I said if you give her a bag of candy she will eat the whole bag, just give her a couple. Mom also begged for money to get chips. Obviously the healthy diabetic in her room told her about the vending machines down the hall. If she didn't see the woman eating chips and candy it wouldn't cross her mind. I think the roommate is gonna be a problem.

Karla- Congrats on the weight loss. I didn't know Lexapro had a generic, my Mom is on that and they are not giving her the generic and it is expensive. Tomorrow is last day of testing. Our student's funeral is Thurs. We are having problems with his friends fighting students who they believe said bad things about him. Which is not true, but in their minds they believe if they fight for him, they are honoring him. These children are truly messed up. My Mom is still in the hospital, the social workers are trying to make me take her home and I won't. I went to the nursing home today and then to a lawyer. If I could take her home, why would she need to go in a home? She is now considered a brittle diabetic and her blood sugar must be continually monitored to see what her insulin dose will be. The dr also said she has a lesion or growth on her bladder that will be monitored. She has a huge hernia that the dr said he will not fix. And the dr also said she will need a pacemaker cause her heart keeps pausing. She was very lucid today, seemed quite normal. On Sat. her condition was very scary. I brought her soft shell crabs for supper today; she was ecstatic.

We are testing today, and I can not stay awake. I have one kid in my office testing, because he couldn't behave in his class. I'm gonna need to hold my eyes open with toothpicks!!! OMG, I hate not being able to stay awake. OHHHH, this is sooooo freaking boring!!!! :smile2::closedeyes::smile::closedeyes:

Bethgrove- google antipressants, read up, decide what you want to try and ask your dr to prescribe it. My Mom went from Effexor to Lexapro. I've been on Trofanil/imiprimine for 18yrs for panic attacks. Ones I've heard of: lexapro, wellbutrin, paxil, cellaxa There is one they say doesn't cause weight gain. I'd google antipressant that doesn't cause weight gain.

Hey Everyone, It's been quite depressing aroung here. Yesterday when I went to see my Mom, the door was closed and there was a letter on the door about seeing the nurse and communicable disease. They said her stool tested positive for a resistant bacteria. I slightly flipped a little. I want to know when she got this. So she went to look at the results to see when she was first tested for this. I went in the room. She had a letter she had signed that said they were recommending home health care. I went talk to them about that cause the dr told me she was recommending rehab facility. The social worker told me she doesn't qualify. So I made the decision to sign up for a nursing home. She needs 4 shots a day. There is no one to give her that. Home health comes 2 or 3 times a week. Seeing her is very hard. She looks terrible. She says, "I'm so tired, I'm so tired." She just sits and stares or sleeps. When I talked to the nurse before I left she said the dr was just here and he thinks the bac. is just part of her floura. What??? We are taking state wide testing at school this week. One of students, 14 yrs old, went to the mall with two of our other students last night, and he dropped dead. Just dropped dead walking and talking to his friends. Yesterday, he was laughing and playing in the yard at school after lunch. He had ashtma, but we do not know why he died. He was not having an attack. Needless to say, today was very tramatic for the students. The state let us cancel testing. The trama team came in. We had kids crying everywhere.

mango24 replied to Fordgal88's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
A five gallon bottle of water, which is really heavy to carry. What the hell have I done to my poor body???? I would like to lose another one!!! -
Hey Everybody, Guess who came for a visit today? Auntie It's been at least 6mts. I gotta check my calendar. I seriously thought it was the end. I gotta go to the dr. I called my Mom today, didn't go visit. She actually sounded normal on the phone. Sometimes she has conversations like nothings wrong with her mental capabilities. My students start state wide testing tomorrow. Oh boy the Osbournes are on, we get the f word beeped out every 2 seconds. Whoaa, what a bowl of fun. I think I'll pass and go take a bathe instead. Oh, by the way, me and DH went to a rock concert Sat. night. It was a Led Zeplin imitation band. They were really good, it was like we actually got to see them. Zoso

Janet- Your pictures are awesome!!!! Where did you zipline? Candice- Lovely pictures, you look Marvelous!! Went to the hospital, my Mom looks worse than when I brought her. The doc called me tonight. She said Mom now has to take 4 insulin shots a day. There is no one to give her shots all day. I work. I don't know what the hell I'm gonna do. The doc said she was going put in an order to send her to a rehabilitation facility to get her stronger before she can come home. She said she is taking out the catheter tomorrow, she has no more infection and yeast is clear. I have no clue if her insurance pays for this. This is too much to deal with.

Denise, I know you know we love you and know we say what we do with uberlove. I've begun to have a drink or two of dh's soda. I even drank a diet pepsi last week when I was so miserable. Oh..and 1/2 a diet squirt tonight. It was the TWO of them WITH all the food. all docs have different restrictions and I'm not going to freak out about breaking a rule here and there...it was just the combo that I couldn't let go. Love you. Steph, I don't know what you're talking about??? No comprendae
