    1) I am just really nosey now... what is everybodies Marital status...??? Married, 24 yrs 2) Does everyone live alone and cook for one?? Me, Hubby, 15/Son, 23/Daughter, 77/Mom 3) Who prepares family meals and who eats what they cook their family? Usually me, but daughter likes to cook a lot too If I can swallow what their having, I eat that. No bread, meats are hard to swallow too. I made red beans Sunday. That goes down nicely. I have only had serious restriction since Jan. 3rd 4) Or... do you prepare special meals just for your bandster self? I find something else in the house if I have to. I usually have Lean Cuisines on hand, Protien Shakes,

Dini - You look fantastic!!!!! Who's the guy with you in the first picture? I read a little of the Ireland thread, I don't get it so I can't advise. The families watching a TV movie right now with Val Kilmer (Sp?) My daughter's teasing my husband cause she says he has a man crush on Val. If Val's in a movie, he's watching it.
  3. Very interesting poll. I'm never been asked to take off shoes at someone's house. It's just not something we do around here. However, if someone asked me, I'd have no problem with it. The thing is you'd have to ask, because it doesn't cross our minds around here, cause it's just not something we do. It's like eating mashed potatoes and gravy with a butter knife. We just don't do it that way. So you would have to show us your way. Another interesting poll I was part of in a class once was: Do you bathe or shower at night or in the morning? 35 people were polled and 4 said at night. I was floored and a bit grossed out. 31 people admitted they spend the day getting dirty and sweaty then get into a bed dirty, sleep dirty, then wake up and wash the dirt off. That absolutely is not allowed in my house. Our beds are clean, but our floor ain't.

    Crud - I swallowed a piece of gum :-(

Alyson - My nurse has sat me up with the needle still sticking out of my port to make me drink. They can pull all your liquid out, sit you up, make you drink water to wash the gum down, they lay you down and refill it.

I had to go back to work today. Yuck!!!!!! I am still waking up every day with hives. When I get to work, my secretary and 2 teachers in my room say, "Girl you got shingles, thats contagious, you needa go home." I say I ain't got no freakin shingles, and they ain't contagious anyway. They keep going on and on. You needa go to the doctor, leave, go ask the principal she had em. So I go show the principal, she says that ain't shingles, and they ain't contagious. So I looked them up, they are contagious to someone who has not had chicken pox. That person would get chicken pox not shingles. They actually had me worried because I did get a small fever blister yesterday. So any who, I'm still getting these freakin hives every day. They start around 9:00 pm. I'm gonna go buy unscented detergent today. That may be the culprit. Jackie - because of this I have also been reading problems with bands, I was nervous I was having a reaction. Karri - I agree with you about the schedule. Work makes it much easier not to eat. I rarely have time to use the restroom much less eat. The students don't have school today, teacher in-service day.

    waking up after surgery

I remember waking up like I just popped my eyes open. I saw a nurse sitting next to my bed, and remember just talking away. She called my first nurse of the day to come get me. When she got me she said, "This one's smiling." I then remember walking right away to the restroom. My stomach was then sore, like a did serious sit ups. No sore throat, no gas pain, no nausha. My doctor put anti-nau med in the I.V. and the patch behind my ear all before surgery. I do remember my eyes were blurry for 2 days after surgery. I needed reading glasses. My experience was great, and my doctors are now god's to me. I was terrified to be put to sleep, and I am terrified of drugs.

BlooEyez - The band is weird. On my 4th fill I was up to 5. I closed completely and had to go back to have some taken out. I couldn't swallow spit. I was drooling into a cup. Today I had another fill .1 to my 5.5, so I'm at 5.6. So far I'm fine. I had 5.5 for all of Dec. with no problems.

Phyl - The shoes might have something to do with camping. We always take off our shoes before we go in the camper. I went for my 7th fill today. I had 5.5, she put in .1 I told her I just wanted a little. I did lose 1lb, I didn't think I lost anything. I did eat sweets and drink during the holidays. All sweets are now gone. I sweated to the Oldies again today. January Exercise 1/31 Food Journal 2/31 Under 800 cals today!!!

Kathy - I did exercise a lot more than usual in Dec., but the holiday cooking and sweets destroyed any weight loss. I go for a fill on Thurs. the 3rd, my 24th anniversary. I am totally ashamed to go, I lost nothing this month. I want a fill, but I'm afraid to get too tight. I really don't know how much tighter I could go without shutting completely. Because that did happen once, I am apprehensive. My resolutions: I will start using Sparkpeople again faithfully, daily I will stay below 1000 cals. daily I will exercise a minimum of 4 days a week I did Sweatin to the Oldies yesterday, and I was definitely sweating. Indio - My QVC Christmas present to myself was, the standing mirror jewelery box with the non tarnish lining. My DH hung it on the wall. OMG how did I live without this thing. I love it sooooo. I filled it with my jewelery, and now I realize I need more jewelery! However, another New Year's resolution is, no more spending money. Weird thing happening - Saturday night I broke out in hives. Sunday morning I still had some so I took Ben. Monday morning I woke up with hives. Took another Ben. Last night I was searching this site and others for hives because I am afraid of band rejection. I can't figure out what's causing this. It's never happened before. I have been itchy for a few weeks. When we went camping for Dec. 9th. I thought I had a few mosquito bites under my arms even thou I was fully clothed outside and it is winter. I now realize it was a few hives. That is where they start.

HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE!!!!!! I see I'm the only one on at this hour 12:15 am. I have a very exciting life, sitting at the computer at midnight, New Year's listening to the fireworks outside. Man, I'm boring. I had a party to go to, but I was to lazy to go. Phyl - We are Mexican Trained out, we've moved on to Poker. Did you get my Christmas email? Marcy - I was anemic for awhile before surgery. I was chewing ice like a damn freak. Screwed up my teeth. I got the Flintstones with Iron. I take 2 a day and amazingly I stopped chewing the ice. I'm telling you I was crazed, it was all I could think about was getting ice. My son almost killed me. He loathed the chewing. Indio - Another similarity...... I love QVC, can't live without it. Diamonique rocks!!!! Man, Dick Clark's New Year is Rockin!!!!

Peaches - My Nurse, the fill nurse, said that the band is a semi-permeable membrane. That's why she pulls all the fill out each time to see what's still in it. I think that may be why it's so important to drink a lot of water. If you get a little dehydrated your body may take the fluid from the band. I'm just guessing here, but it sounds logical. Ruby - Welcome back, and Congrats! Hey, Where da hell is Chim?

Phyl - Glad you explained it to Dini, I couldn't think of a way to explain the comment except maybe She's a brick house, 36-24-36, what a winning hand, I think it is Spanish for Sexy Hot Mama. Had fun at my Christmas party last night. I'm sore from all the dancing.

Karri - I bought missy 14 for Thanksgiving. Well I couldn't find them Sat. I was looking everywhere. When I found them, I looked at the tag inside. They're not a 14, they're a 16. What da hell? I told everybody I bought a 14. I musta been drunk. At least it's regular 16's and not Womens, so that's something. I was in stretch women's 18's.

Phyl - How ya feel better soon!!! salsa - the fills have no magical quality that cause weight loss. It's all about calories with the band. 1000 with a fill, 1000 without, is all the same. I find that I can get the same amount of cals. 800 with carbs and not lose as much as if I get 800 without carbs. I'm talking trash carbs. not good ones.
