Random sleeve catch up thanks to Sydney city closure.
Ran into Sue on her way home. Ended up in drinks and trivia and a burger the size of our head apparently.. any guesses on how much 2 long term sleevers could have eatten?

So before my sleeve and weight loss I wasnt dating, while I was single I didnt feel like it was something I deserved.
So I lost the weight and most days I am comfortable in my skin. A few months ago, i decided to officially put myself on the market so to speak.
Have been internet dating, meeting guys etc. I found some nice guys, but no spark, some real d*^ks and quite a few guys that didnt want to know me once I opened up about my weight loss.
Anyway I recently I broke my ankle and have been pretty much limited to my apartment building and started running into this guy in my lift, anyway I was always with someone when I met him so I couldnt act too interested, but we always had a nice chat.
Anyway I did something that I would never have done before the weight loss, I put a letter in all the letter box apartments on his floor (admittedly only 4) and asked him to contact me if he is interested in a coffee..
And to my shock..absolute disbelief, a couple of days later I got a message from him...he replied and asked me out to lunch...which sadly i was at work, but we kept in touch and today we are having lunch!!
This is something that I would not have even contemplated pre-surgery.
Whatever happens I went after what i was intereedted in for the first time...

    Sue/Kelli,
Look forward to seeing you all.
A bit of a crappy day for it tho. However there is an indoor area on the 2nd floor with a cocktail bar. Maybe we can meet there. I may head down a bit earlier and scope out the place.
    See you soon

Hi everyone. I thought I'd update. Monday coming will be 8 months to the day since I was sleeved. I'm currently down 45kgs! So I'm now sitting at 97.6kgs. I'm only just starting to see it in the mirror which is great. I had to go shopping for more clothes again and am fitting and looking good in size 14!!!!!! I've never been a size 14 that I can even remember lol. So I'll up load a pic in my new size 14 dress

I saw my Surgeon last Friday and I am now at the lightest weight that I have been since the late '90's. I have lost 34 kg in 8 months, very happy WLS patient here. I also went clothes shopping today in Target and for the first time in what seems like forever, I had to shop in the 'Normal' section and I have bought Size 16 and 18 tops...I spent a load of money that I shouldn't have spent, but hey, I might not be here tomorrow although I'd better be, because now I have so many new clothes to wear I won't need to wash anything for a month.
Everyone is doing so well, keep up the good work.
    Have a great day !!!!!!
    Lots of Love
    Michele

The plastic journey so to speak is very different. Mine was made much harder due to complications with the surgery (which almost cost me my life but thankfully did not). It is definitely not something to under take lightly.
But in the end result (now 4 months afterwards) I am fairly happy with the result, I would have liked to have seen some more skin removed as I still have some over hang and also have a recurring issue with numbness and pain in my arm from the arm reduction.
There are days when I am like, really there isnt much difference but I was looking at photos that I took just prior and the difference is significant, need a reality check sometimes eh. But shopping is definitely much more fun, my last trip to the US I went on a dress shoppng spree (like 13 dresses and most of them tight fitting) and I feel good in them.
Ditdee, as everyone has said the 3 week mark is notorious for being a stall period where you may not loose weight and may gain weight, it is just your body reajusting. Just keep working it and eatting smart and the weight loss will return

    Happy New Year Everyone!!
I have not been back here in a while but still see all your updates come through to my phone.
Good to see some more newbies come in and the "oldies" still around
Everyone is looking and doing amazing.
I admit to having lost my way for a little bit. After the prolonged recovery from the plastic surgery (where no exercise was allowed), quickly followed or concurrently with a very stressful period of work (travelling constantly/demanding clients/long long long long hours) and then overseas trip and Christmas (read alcohol period) I admit to having lost my way for a bit, and found I have put on 5 kgs from the lowest I have been. Strangely tho I dont look like I have (but go figure).
So much for getting off the weight rollercoaster, i think for me it is life balancing act. I am back into it and back to trying to get into 2 work outs a day (a kick starter so to speak), as I know how hard I still have to work, but 5kgs is better than 75kgs. And now I do know that I can do it, through eatting better and exercising more (besides I do feel better emotionally when I am exercising) and I have two 5km runs to get ready for at the end of Jan/beginning of Feb.
    I hope everyone is well.

So we are done ! We stayed an extra night in hospital as I was suffering from a bit of nausea but all seems okay now. Just need to concentrate on fluids for the next week until we go back to see the Dr. Dr Phil Lockie and his wife Shirley Lockie (ass & co-ordination) are an amazing team

I live not far from Parramatta so can easily meet up with you there or could even meet up with you and we could travel into the city from there to meet up with everyone else - we could even catch the river cat which would be a nice trip for you down the river and then into the harbour!

Milked-down yogurt is a good option for the liquid phase. Also chicken stock, beef stock, bonox, Vegemite in Water etc. Salty things to balance out all the sweet stuff. You can stir plain Protein Powder into things. Just don't put it into anything too hot or it will curdle. I found that alternating hot and cold helped too.

Saw my gp today had the dressings taken down sites all looking good told I could take some peppermint oil caps to help with gas! Found real chicken broth is nice during my post op time! Finding stuff to mix up and that I will tolerate during this Fluid stage hard!

It took me 8 days post op and it's quite normal. Colofac helped and it should also improve once you start purée and soft food. You are doing all the right things.
