  1. What I mean by alternating calories is, I was doing 700-800 calls a day and stalled for 2 weeks (was getting loads of protein and water), so I decided to up my calories every other day and slightly lower them the other days so 1000 calories, 600-700 calories, 1000 calories etc. After 3 days I dropped over a pound. Has this worked for anyone else, or was it likely a fluke with the timing? I know a lot of people just up water or protein but anyone else got any other solutions they use for breaking the stalls? I know stalls aren't a big deal and you usually still lose inches but I am just curious.

    Wls Quick Results

My grandmother actually told me the same with losing weight as far as my goal. She said and I quote "just be careful you don't want to lose much more weight" and that is at the point that I was 30-40 pounds above healthy bmi. I just came to the conclusion that nobody else's opinion on where my weight loss should start or stop truly matters, my body will tell me when its happy.
  3. I love the apple pie! There are a few I was much more fond of then others. The ones I like are apple pie, strawberry shortcake, cinnamon roll and vanilla almond.
  4. Hi everyone. I was just chewing a piece of gum and accidentally swallowed it. I am 6 months post op. Am I going to be okay, or should I worry.

    Panicking... Help Please

Thanks guys. I appreciate the answer, someone answered on OH that they had done the same thing two weeks ago, and they are fine. I just freaked because I am usually so careful with what goes into my sleeve, then I breathed while chewing and down the hatch it went. Knew about the wives tale but thought the stomach digested it differently and we all know our stomachs aren't quite the same as most peoples and didn't know if that would screw with something. It happened about an hour or so ago now. Can drink just fine, but have a full feeling, which I guess I am lol.
  6. Hey everyone! Just wanted to share with my favourite nsv with everyone, my first 5k walk is officially under my belt. I came in in under 50 minutes I am very happy with my time, I was actually anticipating being well over an hour but determination kept me going. Its amazing to see from this end how much weight was holding me back.
  7. On the 18th I am walking in my first 5k for charity out of town. So my husband and I are staying in a hotel on the 17th. He wants to take me to dinner that night to Celebrate how far I have come. I think I know what I want to get but am seeking opinions. Here are the four lowest calorie items they have. It is very limited its a Pasta joint. Appetizer - Toasted Beef Ravioli - 110g - 200 cal - 4.5 g fat - 540 mg sodium - 30 g carbs - 10 g Protein Kids - Spinach and cheese Ravioli - 187g - 310 cals - 12 g fat - 700 mg sodium - 38 g carbs - 14 g protein Soup - Minestrone - 9 oz - 60 cal - 1.5 g fat - 660 mg sodium - 10 g carbs - 2 g protein salad - House with FF Hone Mustard - 128g - 120 cal - 3 g fat - 280 mg sodium - 21 g carbs (9 sugar) - 3 g protein I am seriously torn, none are an awesome choice and I will be doing low cal high protein rest of the day. I also am not 100% sure I could order kids either. I have not had pasta since surgery so part of me thinks I should splurge and get the toasted beef ravioli, and it also has a fair amount of protein. Then I see the carbs (I don't count carbs, but I try to stay reasonable). The soup is loaded with sodium but low cal, I wouldn't enjoy it as much likely though, but it wouldn't throw my day off. Then there is the salad, decent calories, but good bit of sugar. Any help or opinions on what you would choose are appreciated!
  8. Thanks everyone. It is more his way to celebrate then mine. My celebration is the 5k itself He works far from home and I only see him 1.5 weeks a month, and where he works they have no restaurants. He also was raised italian, so I am humouring him and let him think its about me, but I can tell he really wants to eat italian and its the only one near our hotel. This will only be like my 3rd time eating out altogether since surgery, and as it is clearly not a habit, I am willing to eat somewhere that does not necessarily have the best choices, so he can enjoy it. The chicken parmigiana is definitely the best option. I looked at everything and calculated the Protein to calorie percentage and it was the highest, it also comes with Pasta which I won't be touching so overall in the end its not going to be too unhealthy, and will have pretty high protein. I thank you all for your advice! This forum has always been so helpful. And thanks for the congratulations. I will probably post to let you all know how it goes
  9. I am pretty sure I am just gonna tell my sleeve to suck it up and try the chicken parmigiana. It has a lot of calories, but loads of Protein. And we can be honest, I won't be anywhere near finishing it. Id rather try to make the right choice and have my sleeve reject it then make a wrong decision. Thanks so much for everyones advice.
  10. Arg they don't have calamari at the one I am going to.
  11. Found a better menu online... Heres something else I have found... Seems like the healthiest option of them all. Entrée Calories Calories from Fat Total Fat Cholesterol Sodium Carbohydrate Protein Calamari 303 111 11.7g 12.8mg 265mg 8.2g 33.9g
  12. This is why I am so torn, the only have a chicken entree, but my sleeve does not let me eat chicken at all. If they had steak or meatballs, that is most definitely what I would be going for. Everything there is mostly pasta, pasta or something similar to pasta.

    Protein/vitimins

Honestly I did not meet my requirements for a fair while after surgery, however today I am down 70 lbs and pretty healthy. Just do your best, there is nothing more you can do but that.

    Is My Body Just Done?

As far as getting in more calories, nuts are the best for that. Good for you and high cal.

    Protein/vitimins

I wish I had advice, but all I can say is it will get better. For the first 2 months I never made my protein goals, I couldn't tolerate a single protein drink. Then I went back to one I had discounted but I was able to tolerate it all of a sudden. I now easily get 70 gm protein, today will be between 80-90 gms. Also have you discussed just taking the vitamins with your surgeon? I was swallowing pills at about a month post op.

    Dang Tom Cravings!

I know this seems silly, but when I gave into cravings I was like great thats 2 pounds I am going to gain. Then I got level headed looked at the bag of crackers and realized even if I had eaten the whole box (which I was nowhere near at all) It would have only been 800 calories. To gain a pound you need to consume like 3500 extra calories. So just look at it as a hiccup and realize its not the end of the world, tomorrow is another day

    Wfl?

Lunch for me was greek yogurt with blueberries and blackberries.
  18. GonnaLoseIt

    Salad

I was able to at 8 weeks. oddly enough my sleeve has partially turned me vegetarian. It doesn't seem to like a lot of meats, but loves veggies and fruits and soft things (avoid celery, I have heard a lot of people having a ton of issues with it, so I just avoid).

    First Nsv!

Great NSV Isn't the change the sleeve makes in our lives amazing!
  20. I have the worst snacking habit, okay not the worst but I love to snack, a few days ago someone posted about roasted edamame and it is amazing! I get my snack, and I get Protein with it : ) I would eat 100 calories of crackers or the sort, which provides 2g protein and about 15 carbs, not many of which are for fibre. 1 serving of roasted edamame has 130 calories 10g carbs, 8 of which are fibre and 14g of protein, so the snack is helping me reach my protein goals and not costing me extra calories. Sorry had to share, as I can't explain how much this is going to help me. I am using Seapoint Farms Lightly Salted Roasted Edamame as an FYI
  21. Hello, I do not keep track off my fats, but I am conscious of them while I am losing weight. Once I get a bit closer to goal I will go back to full fat but right now I actually do low fat for the short term, I find it to not be as heavy on my sleeve. Tried full fat and I feel like it just sits on my stomach. Weird I know but for the short term (3-6 months) of low fat wont affect me to much.

Damn Was I Really That Big?

I was so darn huge before, and I definitely didn't perceive myself as being as big as I was. This was probably because I avoided being in pictures like the plague. Now that I have gone down 70 lbs I almost feel like I look bigger then before. That is until I look at a picture from before. The brain plays some pretty messed up games. And seriously congrats on the weight loss So good!
