Anyone Not Had Hair Loss?
Thomas CPA replied to Debvzw's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
expect it, the typical from what the nurse told me and I have experienced as many have on this board is 4 to 6 month period then possible reversal. What helps is Biotin daily. I also use a laser comb and Ovation hair Shampoo (seems to slow the growth and makes hair fine on me but it is not coming out anymore) For all that you hear from some here - it has really nothing to do with Protein else men would not have been losing hair since we are mostly beef eaters. It is due to a major change to body from the rapid weight loss and should change back over time. -
Any Tips For Flying With Shakes & Vitamins
Thomas CPA replied to Autumnjazz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just take the number of Vitamins you need, no sense carrying all the bottles. As for shake, just measure amounts into zip lock bags, doubt security will notice and if they do and taste they will know it isn't drugs. What is worst case, they confiscate it. -
Great! Good Eating. Still make the bread toasted so it doesn't expand with liquids.
-
doesn't matter the order, just separate the two by 2 hours. You should take Vitamin C with the Iron.

my doctor said about 4 to 6 months. With weight loss after 6 months I had a beer with my brother-in-law, make it about 1/2 to 3/4 of a beer and I was very buzzed. a margarita maybe to much so expect A) you might get very drunk and so soon out, sick to your stomach. Forget the drink, have a good time nobody will mind if you drink Water.

Protein Powder In Your Recipes?
Thomas CPA replied to VJSlim's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Use half a banana, strawberries, or other types of items to add taste. -
My Journey So Far With Kaiser
Thomas CPA replied to MonkeyNurse's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I also went Kaiser, pretty quick process, my delay was my schedule not theirs. No special preop diet just had to show weight loss which really isn't all that bad and helps with post surgery to maintain. Think best way to go than those who think flying to Mexico for a quicky works, Kaiser teaches you how to do it right and the cost was $0. Good luck on you surgery. -

Thomas CPA replied to mominkansas's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was buying new clothes after the first two weeks when down 20 pounds. Rule of thumb is 1 inch for every 10 pounds. -

Thomas CPA replied to Pookeyism's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story

How To Date With My New Sleeve
Thomas CPA replied to Tshaunda's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hopefully the guy is paying more attention to you then to what you are eating or drinking. Not their business about your surgery on a first date anyway. -
give or take 4 ounces but check with surgeon, my doctor left it a tad bigger than normal. At two weeks I could take a full protein shake. Think of it this way, your stomach is the size of a medium banana, what could you fit in an empty banana peel
-
Not even two weeks out, I wouldn't worry at this point. You should be into mushy phase soon so enjoy having your meal with him. Physical activity will take a bit, it took me 4 weeks before I felt like doing anything physical. Give it a good month and your life will be going back to normal

Mushies/purees Not Going Down Very Well - What To Do?
Thomas CPA replied to ocean_ophelia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
my doctor told me what doesn't settle now may in the future. if necessary stay on liquid protein diet and try once a day some sort of mushie. Try a part of a banana even if it is one bite every minute. Don't do more than one type at a time and see what settles. -
How Much Time Did You Take Off Of Work?
Thomas CPA replied to mesaucedo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't take any full days off. I worked half days for 3 days and back to full days after that. -
Found combination Biotin, Ovation cell therapy and Rogaine working well hair returning ending month 6
-
Just a lot of liquids, it will pass. Take your stool softener as once it returns you will likely need it.

6+ Months Out And Stalled For Last 2... Fail?
Thomas CPA replied to BeachWithMyBabies's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
May not be stall you may have maxed out surgery results. Pre surgery 235 ideal 150. 50% expected surgery loss of 40 lbs now 190. That is it. My goal 180 may not get there can't reduce food intake more. Exercise will not do it alone as you metabolism adjusts to caloric intake. Take some time off add calories then start again to jump start metabolism again. Reality you may be at surgery weight. I did that at month 4 now ending 6. Not a stall I reached Eden -

Just Got My Bipap Machine Today
Thomas CPA replied to Catracks's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
After 10 years I got rid of my cpap with the weight loss. For the first 12 months the cpap did nothing for me, it did not give me more sleep. As for getting used to mask, that was not a problem. From day 1 it is just a matter of getting it adjusted so it is not to tight or loose. No need to be apprehensive. -
Tips To Avoid Throwing Up After Eating?
Thomas CPA replied to w8loss4me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Trial and error time, as my doctor said what you can't tolerate now you may later. I am 6 months postop and still run into a combination that doesn't sit well. This happened at dinner tonight. Try bland stuff, yougurt, cottage cheese, mashed potatoes, mashed banana -
How Many Experience This From Their Husbands..
Thomas CPA replied to SunshineMom2's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
from the male perspective, I have the same problem with my wife. She likes to yell, scream and I ate a lot from emotions caused by her that I allowed to affect me. With therapy I learned to not let her get to me and now 6 months postop and 45 pounds lighter, goal weight, she is now losing weight and because I am calm, ignoring her when she screams, she is calming down. Hang in there and realize you have the right to your feelings and stand your ground. You have support here but if you need some help to cope, get a good psychologist or therapist to help you cope. -
Sipping And Not Drinking With Meals
Thomas CPA replied to yecats's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Everyone a little different, I was drinking pretty good after getting out of hospital, more than sipping. This is not like bypass surgery, you still have a stomach the size of a medium to large banana. Just don't drink more than 30 minutes before eating, so you can eat, during meals so you don't fill up on liquids, and not to soon after to prevent washing the food through the system before minerals and vitamins absorbed since you are taking in so little after surgery and for next 4 to 6 weeks. -
Surgery On 2/2/12 Some Panic Waves
Thomas CPA replied to lazzareschi's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There is only like less than a 1% mortality rate. Just relax and enjoy the time. Plan your last full meal before surgery and have fun. -
Does The Hipaa Law Apply To Members Of The Church?
Thomas CPA replied to My Life as Liz's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
hippa applies to doctors and medical offices in releasing information. If you opt to tell people, including clergy, they are not under any obligation to spill the Beans, though if you ask them they probably won't. Only clergy bound not to tell are Catholic Priests when done as a Confession. Best way to keep a secret, never tell anyone. -
This May Sound Stupid... But I Need An Excuse.
Thomas CPA replied to readytobeslimxoxox's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just tell them you have stomach flu and make it simple, it will explain why you are not eating. They will likely not press for anymore information. Sorry you will miss your prom, it is possible you can make it (I was in on a Thursday and could have been out on Saturday but opted to stay another day as I wasn't drinking Water (iv keep me hydrated so I didn't feel like drinking) otherwise I was fine to walk, drive, etc. it is expensive gamble to get tickets and a dress. but if you do go just stick to water and no snaking.
