Go to the doctor! I went this past week and he measured my fluid and I was down 1 CC. So now I am back up to what I was. Plus as we lose weight there is fat in the stomach area that goes away. The things I learned!

March... our 6 month bandiversary... where are we now?
dal replied to terilynn112's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It has been too long since I visited! So glad to see all doing so well. I am not as far as I had hoped. I can still eat too much. Been too busy to get to the doctors. Went today and was measured for fill. I had lost 1CC of fluid. So I am back up to 7CC and can go back in 4 weeks for more. Nonetheless - I am smaller and not gaining. Feel better already and will get back on track! God bless y'all! -
Congrats Samurais! Isn't it wonderful to look better for the holidays?! I wore a new outfit to church last night - what a difference from last year. I know I have a long way to go - but the journey is well on its way. May you all have a blessed Christmas enjoying the true meaning of joy and peace and not just how much food we can cram in!

31 for me since surgery! 41 total.

Blessed Thanksgiving to all my fellow Samurai. This is our first big holiday where our favorite thing (food) will be dealt with differently. So let us remember to count our blessings. To eat smaller amounts. And to thank God that food will not rule us this day. Many blessings to all of you!:grouphug:

Go where the doors are opened! That is what happened to me this year. So far so good. I have hope that I will finally conquer a life long battle and be a better representative of the Lord Jesus Christ! Happy Thanksgiving to all - may we count all our blessings that God has so wonderfully supplied.

Looking good does help a lot - my skinny clothes are getting big. Terilyn I am so sorry about your mess and what you lost. I pray you will get blessed to make it up.
-
I think that is a great big thank you Lord! You may have never been told this before - NO CRUNCHES!
-
I will pray for you right now:teeth_smile:!

Well I had my second fill and I do believe I can feel a difference. I stay full longer! I did find out I have the new large band and it holds 17cc and I now have 6 so I have a long way to go. I can go back in 2 weeks if I need. I have not lost much more but my clothes are getting large! This time of losing I am actually losing all over and not getting too droopy. Not sure what the difference is. Even my PC noticed that this time is not like the others. It just is exciting to think that this time it may really work to change my life. My legs already feel better. I am truly blessed to be able to have this journey.

I am so sorry! May God be with you as the very best is done for you. Congrats on the weight loss!

So good to read all the GOOD NEWS! This is my first visit to this thread. I have spent my life growing in the things of God - but my weight was always the roller coaster. I believe God opened the doors this year to do it. Last year I got nowhere, so I went where I believed he was leading. I have lost but the last two weeks I have been eating more than I should - but I am hungry! The dr. said my last fill would not do the trick so I go next week for more. I am hoping the restriction will be better. I am not eating the way I used to by any means and I do feel better but I want more - as usual impatient me. So I will lean unto the Lord and walk this journey trying to remember every step is a healthier step than what I have been doing. I know God will bless us as we learn from him and our bodies in the process. God bless y'all!

26 pounds since surgery 9-10!

I just got a fill yesterday and feel a tiny bit of difference. My Dr. said I would probably not feel any big difference so he wants me to come in two weeks for 1-2cc more. Apparently this is a time of trying to get at the right spot so our loss now may not be as great. I fill up OK but then I am hungry in 3 hours...so I am snacking - trying to make good choices. So I guess we just hang in and wait to get to the sweet spot that I read others talking about.

Tina - I think our bodies just try to catch up with all that has been happening. You have lost a good deal of weight in a month and a half! As we progress with fills and we get more used to eating less and going longer between meals - we will lose more. Let's be willing to be patient:cursing:and know we are in this for the long haul. Keep on doing the the things you are - your body will thank you:lol:

Take it easy on yourself! Awareness is the key and this is a journey. We have wanted quick fixes forever. This is not that, but it is a direction that will help restrict us. Just try to eat protein stuff - it does stick with you better. Soon you will be at that zone of less food for longer periods of time. How about patting yourself on the back instead of the beating - you are a gift from God...try that one! I bet you will feel better. We will make it!

Well time for a check in! I had my first fill today and it was just fine! My doctor does have the nurse numb the area and then she stuck the needle in the port and put in 4cc. She said I had no saline in at surgery. The dr. wants me back in 2 weeks for 1-2 more. He did not feel the 4 cc would be enough but he was pleased with my loss. I drank fluids for a while but then ate with no problems. I can tell some difference but I do get hungry in about 3 hours. So I will try to be good. Isn't it amazing how different every doctor is? One more hurdle overcome - skinny here I come!

I ended up spending the night because of late surgery. I had my sister for the afternoon but was alone at night. My second day post-op was the worse - shoulder, neck, and just pain! I laid low. Just be sure you can get a hold of someone.

Where would a person buy Greek yogurt?
dal replied to Losing_It_In_Texas's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I just saw some in our local grocery store in MI. It was with the other yogurts - all by itself. It was a small container and a bit pricey. I do not think it was flavored. I have only had it with cucumbers in it for a sauce for kabobs. -

NayRay - you are going to do great. One day at a time. We have all had those hard times and you have had a big one. No matter the month you are a September Samurai....we will conquer the fat! -
Why Don't We Give A Little Update Where We're At

I went for my first fill this past Tuesday. Thank goodness because I hadn't lost weight in the past week because I was able to eat. So the doc numbed me at my port area. Then he put a syringe in the port put some Fluid in and had me sit up. He told me to take 2 good size gulps of Water. After the first one I felt the rock feeling in my chest. Then he slowly pulled fluid out and said to tell him when the feeling went away. After that I took a few small sips and I could feel it slowly go down and that was it. I was on clear fluids for 48 hours and now I am slowly starting to eat again. :thumbup:Thanks for sharing about your first fill:thumbup:...I am nervous about mine. Every DR. seems to be different so I'll see how mine does. I will try not to worry and know many have done it before me and survived. You go girl! -
OK... it's October now, what's happening?
dal replied to terilynn112's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Y'all rock! It is so good to hear that we are both struggling and suceeding together. I have been very blessed to have no problems. I am now up to fruit and vegetables with soft meats. Next Wednesday I'll add beef and bread. I have gone out to eat and ordered a chicken dish and have eaten half and bring the other half home. I am not counting calories - I just eat less. I have been hungry but fill up quickly and stayed full for hours. I feel better and my clothes - even my one size down ones are getting a bit looser. My face has changed the most - but the boobs are hanging in (literally!) We did the right thing and the journey has just begun. I may sound a bit like Pollyanna but I am excited for us all! God bless you and keep you strong - ready to face your new lives simply being in an average body. Not sticking out and getting those looks any more. Woohoo! -

Well today is my three week birthday since surgery. Wounds are healed and I got to eat chicken today - tasted so good! My sister took a picture of me Sunday and then put it next to one taken last spring - a big difference already - that'll keep me going. I have been feeling hungry but the chicken has helped that tremendously. No problem with chewing and swallowing. Keep on folks this is an exciting adventure. I think I am approaching 30 pounds lost but I am waiting to weigh at the doctor's in a few weeks when I get my first fill. I have worn two things that were in the smaller pile - not worn in a while. Yay! -
?? for those who had surgery beginin go Sept
dal replied to bloom's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Glad to hear y'all are experiencing the slow down. I lost steadily on the pre-op and then right after surgery. Now my body has caught up to the change or something. I am still on mushies so I know I am not eating a lot calories. Maybe our bodies are still knitting together. My exercise is limited to the pain from being overweight. In another week I can return to the pool where I can walk and exercise almost pain free. This surgery was no magic bullet. We did not get heavy in a month. We will not get thinner in the same time. We did this to help us change our lives and we have the rest of them to use this wonderful tool as an aid to do what we had a hard time doing without it. Let's encourage, help, and face all our tomorrows with confidence knowing we are going to be smaller and smaller. God bless all of you!
