  1. Thanks, I'll send it over to him.
  2. I made it to phase 2, the final phase, of the Triathlete Fit contest. If I win I'll be on the cover of Triathlete magazine. To enter I shared my story about how WLS and exercising, specifically triathlons have made me more fit. Please vote. for me, Julie S. Below is the story I submitted. You can vote on all your devices, (desktops, iPads, and your cell phones). Contest ends on Monday February 8th. Thanks. http://triathlon.competitor.com/…/top-10-vote-triathlete-fi… In August 2011, I had weight-loss surgery. Like many, I had tried to lose weight on my own with diet and exercise, but I wasn’t successful. After the surgery, was it easy to lose weight? Yes. Was it easy to keep it off? Hell no! The main problem was I wasn’t being active. I met a lady who told me she was scheduled to have a second surgery to lose the weight she had regained. Fearing I would end up like her, I decided I needed to get moving, so I started swimming. Then a friend asked if I wanted to do a triathlon, so I started biking and running too. Finally, on Mother’s Day of 2012, I officially became a triathlete. From then on I was hooked. I’ve been competing in triathlons for four years now, and I’m currently training for my first half Ironman in April and first full Ironman next year. I’m happy to say that, thanks to triathlon, I haven’t regained any weight and I’m the fittest I’ve ever been. My new goal is to encourage others to be active and to try tris—whether they need to lose weight or just want to have fun. ‪#‎pleasedontunfriendme‬ ‪#‎triathletemagazine‬ ‪#‎triathletefit‬

  8. I signed up for my first Olympic Triathlon; the Kemah Triathlon on April of 2015. I've been wanting to do one for a long time but never had the guts to sign up for one. I'm super excited and VERY nervous especially for the open Water swim which I've already started training for. I'm also going to talk about my training on my blog: www.julissaschultz.com. If any of ya'll out there have completed an OLY tri please message me. I would like to know what your nutrition was like during the race and would also like to hear about your experience. Thanks!

    Three Year Sleeveaversary!

lilijo my lowest weight was 134 and that was because I had to have a hysterectomy and stopped working out. Once I started CF again I weight went up to where I'm at now. My problem areas are sweets and I started to stray to them last year.
  11. Today is my 3 year sleeveaversary! My weigh currently fluctuates between 137 and 141 and I'm happy with that. My goal weight is set to 125 however if I dont get there thats ok. I have to say maintaining is the hardest part. I exercise like a beast but I still need to work on my eating habits- they could be better. My goal this year is to meet with a nutritionist to help me with that.

    Sports Nutrition

Just curious, what do you do for your nutrition before and during an event like running, triathlons, etc.? I've noticed that lately I've been "hitting the wall" a lot. I've been told that its because I'm not carb loading enough or not eating enough during my exercice. I'm just curious to see what you guys do. Here is what I'm currently doing. I usually carb load before with Sweet potatoes and Pasta. The morning of an event I usually eat a waffle with Peanut Butter. During the event I usually start to get a snack around 30 minutes in and its usually at Advoare rehydrate gu or a honey stinger waffle. I also drink lots of Water. Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

Congratulations Jess, what an accomplishment! Are you addicted? What are you using for nutrition?
  14. We'll said! I've been sleeved since 2011 and although I haven't gained my weight back, I work hard at maintaining my weight. I've heard many opinions from others, recently someone told me weight loss surgery was for lazy people. I was like really? Cause I Crossfit twice a week, swim twice a week, run two to three times a week and when I have time throw in a bike ride. So if that's lazy then I guess I'm lazy!
