I have Anthem and I got the same run around for about 60 days. The insurance company kept saying they did not get everything and the surgeon said they sent it over. They both kept telling me to wait. Eventually I became a real jerk with both parties and micro managed the situation. Once I did that the surgery was approved in like 72 hours. Good luck it will work out. Have faith and stay on top of it.

I love the taste in my mouth when I am in ketosis. Then I know I am losing weight. When on Atkins you eat a lot food but with the sleeve we have to be careful what we eat because we cannot eat very much. Low Carb is my lifestyle.

I had Chinese yesterday. Actually my wife wanted it the night before so I ate some mongolion chicken with onions over three meals, that night and two yesterday. I skipped the rice. The restaurant decided to make it super spicy. I used to love spicy foods. I am paying today. I am four and half weeks out. I probably should have waited a little longer. I am in such pain today in my stomach and throwing up all night I called in sick from work today. Just laying in bed with my computer.

The only thing I can think of is they tell us to stay away from certain foods for 6 months becasue they are high in fat or high in sugar or carbs. This hinders weight loss and your first six months are when you will lose the most weight. I think they tell us not to drink for similar reasons. I think my surgeon just gave the sleevers the same book as RNY, Which does not make sence to me becasue we do not dump.

OK I have this irrational fear that the surgeon put a band in me instead of the sleeve like I wanted. I know there are certain things like everytime I go to the docs office they all mention how is my band. I also feel like I have a band and I can feel someone that I think is a fill site. How would I know the difference? I am very scared.

Well gdc. Congrats on not listening to the temperance moral righteousness that goes on on this board. They are so quick to judge someone for their morals and beliefs and then they throw names around. Good for you!

I am 3 and a half weeks out and am so hungry all the time even after I eat. I am still eating mushy foods. I am very worried about this. Any suggestions? I told my sister I am eating too much. She said what are you eating? I told her (just normal stuff for the mushy foods) following the NUTs instructions. and she said I sound like some anorexic girl. She said that is nothing.

Why are people so judgmental. Honestly a drink or two is not going to hurt a normal sleeve. Yes it is empty calories and could hinder weight loss. Yes abusing alcohol can cause liver problems. She will only live once. If she wants a drink knowing what might happen so be it. You made the decision not to. That was a healthier and better decision for you. I started drinking week two. I drink four to six glasses of scotch a night. I love the sleeve I get drunk so much sooner.

I think I looked into that one and the sugar free slurpee actually has a bunch of net carbs. I would not get the huge size but the small size would be ok I am sure.

2.5 weeks post op. So several times since surgery I have been laying or sitting down and stood up and almost passed out. Yesterday I went out side and mowed the lawn for twenty minutes and thought I was going to die. My head rush was so extreme I could feel it in my head and eyes. I came inside and fainted on the living room floor. I woke up and my dog was licking me. Any ideas?

Thank you for the responses. I will call my doc on Monday. I have been getting so worried about every little thing. I call my doc and nurse about 10 times since surgery. He finally gave me xanax. But fainting is no joke. wow that was scary.

My dog eats his puke. He likes it. But my doc did say if you are throwing up it could be a leak. Make sure you do not have left shoulder pain, a fever, or abdominal pain. All are signs.
