    that sucks. I am glad I got it done in the US. I went into the surgeon and two weeks for fear of a leak. It was great being able to drive 10 minutes and be at his office.     Mermaid does the sleeve stretch? I know there are not many long term studies about sleeves since it is a new surgery. I know the pouch on an RNY patient stretches. That is one of the reasons I choose the sleeve.

    Take a PPI and dont think about it. When I quit smoking it was the same all in my head after the first week when the nicotine left my body. If you do not think about food you will not be as hungry. This is what I have found. I just do something else and forget about eating. If I am busy all day I do not think at all about eating. As the weeks tick by since surgery it goes away faster. Like quitting smoking.

    One of my family members is a bankruptcy attorney and I have talked to her about what I should do if the insurance does not change their mind. Good luck. Bankruptcy might be our only option.

    It means you are losing weight. Be proud. I usually just bring it up. But I tell everyone I had surgery within minutes of meeting them.

    Well now I swallow it but after surgery I chewed it. What an awful taste.

    Two days before my surgery I spent all night reading horror stories on message boards and the internet. After surgery I was freaking out the first few weeks. I think I called the nurse at least a dozen times during that time. In fact I even went to the surgeon for an extra appointment. I will tell you this everything turned out great. I had no pain after surgery and was out of the hospital after one evening. I am 10 weeks out today and have lost 67 pounds. Yes some people have complications but set your eyes on the prize and everything will work out. You will be fitting into the swim suit you always wanted to wear next summer. I am sure your husband would love you big or little. Best of luck, Norm

    I have been working out 2-4 hours a day and the most I can lose is about a pound a day. I am watching the Biggest Loser and wish I could lose more.

    I started taking Xanax after surgery for sleeping and it works awesome. I have never slept so well. My surgeon prescribed it.

    9 weeks out today and have lost 63 pounds. Doc says avg for 3 months is 50 pds. That seems low to me.

    Yeah that is what they are saying that it was not medically necessary. They claim to not have the pre approval letter as well. much fun. I belive this will eventually be paid however they want to make me work for it.

    yes it is amazing how much less insurance pays then what is billed. I just have to keep calling. For some reason Anthem likes to lose things a lot. I think they like to delay paying their bills. My dad has Anthem too and he said he had threaten them with a lawyers letter to get them to pay a Quest bill. Quest had sent it to collections becasue Anthem took soo long. They deny then say they lost it then deny then lost it finally after lawyer letter they took care of it.

    I have every expectation that they pay in time. I hope. They said they would in the preapproval letter. I think this is just a common way insurance companies handle their business. They want to avoid paying for as long as possible. The problem is what will this do to my credit?

    a carb is not a carb. net carbs impact blood sugar. the idea behind a low carb diet is to have less impact on blood sugar. The Atkins diet0 is a version of this. It reflects net carbs.     You count carbs that affect blood sugar and dietary fiber and sugar alcohols do not affect blood sugar. I subtract them.

    Rosalind funny how nutritionists are so misinformed and wrong. There are some carbs that are ok. But when my nutritionist told me to eat a baked potato or mashed potatoes, she is wrong. I love good low carb veggies- green beans, cauliflower, peppers, broccoli, mushrooms, onions. I stay far far away from starchy veggies like carrots, peas, and potatoes.

    I had surgery 7/19. It flew by after the insurance approval. I know my advocate at the surgeon got tired of my emails and phone calls. But the day I called the insurance company and they said I was approved and will receive a letter in two days I was ecstatic. It was all worth it. BTW since surgery the insurance rejected the surgeons bill saying it was not covered. I had to call them on this too. They said they would make an adjustment. Still waiting to see when that happens. I hate insurance companies.
