I have surgery date ,hopefully I can get my VSG if I can convince my surgeon that RYN is not for me. My questions is for those who are post op 1 year or more.
Do you think you can eat a bit more than when you were 6 months post op? Or are you eating the same amount of food as when you were 6 months post op?
How soon do you get full, with how many oz of liquids or food? I know everybody is different so I willing to read different opinions here TIA

Hi there. Does anyone know which Dept of Veterans Affairs hospitals do the sleeve? The system is divided by regions, and the VA does not put out a lot of info about the bariatric programs. I have Tricare Prime too, but they do not cover the sleeve. BUMMER... I am a service-disabled vet too and am able to use all services at VA hospitals too.
Thanks for any info you can provide.

There are several military facilities that do the sleeve. For sure BAMC in Ft Sam Houston San Antonio do the sleeve. I am waiting to be call with for my Pre Op appointment and surgery date. Where do you live right now? are you able to travel to San Antonio?

I had my surgery 6 weeks ago and my doctor put me on a chewable PPI for the first 6 months and he said I could go back to my omeprazole after that. So far I haven't had any problems!!
Thank you so much for your input

So I been reading and a surgeon told me today that won't perform a VSG on me because I have GERD and the VSG could make the GERD even worse. He is trying to push on me the RYN. For those you have or had GERD,how is it now after the surgery? Is it better? worst? and How long ago you had surgery? Thanks!

Hi Liliana, I have PCOS also. I am hope this surgey will help me. If you find any information please let me know. I am scheduled to have surgery on the 8th. Do you have a surgery date?
Chunky and Fluffy 75 - PCOS is Polycystic ovary syndrome and it is a condition in which there is an imbalance of a woman's female sex hormones. This hormone imbalance may cause changes in the menstrual cycle, skin changes, small cysts in the ovaries and etc...

I'm not so sure about VSG/migraines, but (and this may be a silly simple question) have you had your eyes checked recently? Before I had my lasik surgery 10 years ago, I had DAILY Migraines that were horrible! Even though I was at the eye doctor constantly and I knew my glasses prescription was fairly up to date (I had to ditch the contacts for like a month or so pre-op) it didn't matter. I still had them. Hope you find relief from your migraines. I know how miserable of a bear non stop constant migraines can be.
You know I been about to go and check my eyes ,I will Thanks!!

I been diagnosed with PCOS for a few years now. I was wondering if any of you have PCOS and after the VSG surgery has improved? I am doing some research online if this surgery would help with my PCOS among other
health issues I have. I know loosing weight improves the PCOS symptoms but I would like to know any experiences here. Thanks!
