  1. Ok so I will be 3 weeks post op wednesday and I know everyone is different, But do you remember how much you used to eat at this stage? Like how many tsp's at once? I still on purees of course. I would like to see if I am eating the right portions. Yesterday I ate some refried Beans and then after tsp I forgot and I had a sip of Water, oooppss :( my stomach hurt a little. I am doing my best and waiting 30 minutes after every meal or snack. Thanks in advance :)

  2. during mushies, chicken, tuna and egg salad have a lot of Protein.

You can google Protein calculator and I bet something would come up that had

the exact amount of protein in each source. I know I have seen one online.

I sill drink a protein shake once a day because I am not a Breakfast eater and I love my shakes. I also eat a pudding called Pro pudding by Body Tech . it has 25 grams of protein and 4 carbs. I got it at the Vitamin shoppe but if you don't have a Vitamin Shoppe , you can get it at Amazon for the cheapest shipping.

    Awesome :) Thanks!!!

  3. Myfitnesspal is great, like Lissa said. I am only one week ahead of you and we are at the same eating stage. I also drink 2 Protein shakes a day prepared with 8 ounces of Lactaid skim milk for a total of 72 grams of Protein because there is no way to get a lot of protein from foods at this point. (that must be the longest sentence ever!)

In regards to eggs, I have eaten 3/4 of a boiled one with mayo (egg salad) and it was too much. I will try 1/2 next time. For all other Proteins like chicken, lactose free cheese etc, I weigh half an ounce and pair it with 1/2 ounce of cooked vegetable. I come close to finishing that. As the days go by, I am sure I will be able to add more. Lately I have been eating between 570 calories to 735. I say if you can eat a whole egg, go for it. Perhaps sometime soon you can drink 1-1/2 protein shake, versus 2.

By the way, I use full fat mayo, full fat cheeses & real Peanut Butter. I do use skim milk because I am used to it and I consume 16 ounces a day. I feel the amount we consume is so small, I might as well savor something that tastes yummy. I am not trying to change your mind about your choices though. We all know what works for us.

    Did I answer your questions?

P.S. In regards to the Beans I am going to email my NUT to ask if it is ok to take an enzyme supplement to help me digest them. (Even though she prefers me to eat protein from animal sources.)

Thanks hun. Sounds Right what you said about getting our protein with shakes . How often are you eating , every 2-3 hours ?

  4. Is hard but you need to make sacrifices to get great results at the end . I was on a liquid diet for 4 weeks total and I never cheat . I don't compare my self to others because my surgeon is the one who decide what's best for me . You CAN do it . I don't know your surgeon but mine won't operate on anyone who didn't follow the pre op diet. I think one single cookie won't hurt but dont do it again . You need to start from now to follow your dr rules so you can successful with your sleeve . Good Luck!!!

  5. It looks like you are doing well. At 3 weeks, my portions were very small, too. I can barely eat a whole egg now at 3.5 months post-op.

Most meats have Protein and many foods have a nutrition label that tells you how many grams of Protein are in a serving. If you aren't eating a whole serving, be sure to divide the grams of protein by how much you are eating. For instance, one egg has about 6g of protein. If you eat half of one, you ate 3g of protein.

I use My Fitness Pal to log my food, primarily so that I can see how much protein I'm getting a day and don't have to keep a running number in my head. It's easy to use on the computer or on a smart phone, and I have only had two foods that weren't listed in the approximately 30 days I've been using it.

There are also websites online where you can look up how much protein is in the foods you are eating. Many restaurants have nutritional information on their websites as well, in case you like to dine out.

Awesome : ) Thanks Lissa :) I have fitness pal on my phone but I haven't try it yet :) I will now...

  6. Ok so I will be 3 weeks post op this next wednesday and I just started my mushies recently. I been having half of 1 scramble egg with a bit of fat free cheese and I made this with a bit of lactose free fat free milk. I can only eat half, I think I probably can eat the whole egg but I stopped when I feel full. I want to try to get as much as Protein I can with only food so I can have at least 2 shakes of protein a day and complete the rest of my protein intake with foods. Anyone can recommend me a website or something where to calculate how much protein, calories etc you are eating. I am confused because I don't know much protein is in every food I eat. So far I tried refried Beans and I able to eat 2 tsp at once, with a sprinkle of cheese. I can't eat much beans ( I LOVE them ) but they are causing more gas than I already have :(. How much you could eat at almost 3 weeks out? what are some normal portions to eat? Is half an egg ok? I don't want to over eat. Is hard for me because when I get full,I don't have any signs like burps or chest pain :( I am taking my time eating,I ate half an egg in about 20 minutes and then I wait 30 minutes to sip on something.TIA

  7. I thought this day was never going come lol I am finally starting my purees after 4 weeks in liquids pre op 2 and post op 2 as well. I am excited to use my blender

for something else that is not Protein Shakes LOL I know people asked this question before but I would like to see how your menu consisted when you were in puree diet?

Like any ideas besides tuna, green Beans, refried beans? I am quiet confused about the amounts I am suppose to start eating. I will see my surgeon tomorrow so I will ask him as well but I want different opinions to have some more ideas :) TIA my lovely sleeve sisters ^_^

  8. I am in the same boat as you and today is my day 15. I am trying my hardest still to get my Protein daily intake and my fluids. I started taking B12 too and it seems to work a little with my energy. I was dehydrated around day 6 post op and they gave an IV.You can call your Dr and ask to get an IV I felt much better after just one.

I still struggling with fluids intake at day 15, but I have faith it will get better with the time as my new banana shape stomach heals lol Get well soon!!!

  9. I have PCOS an I am 13 days out and my weight loss so far ( still VERY early ) has been wonderful :) 28 lbs gone and I will start working out as soon as my Dr give me the OK to start. I off my metformin since my surgery and I am doing good without my insulin meds :) I think having PCOS won't stop you for losing weight as others :) and your symptoms will improve as you keep eating healthy and exercising

  10. Ok so I really need to VENT all this out. Today is my 11 day post and I am feeling terrible, emotionally and physically. I am so tired of this liquid diet :(. My surgeon's plan is 2 weeks pre op of full liquids diet, the day prior surgery I was on Clear Liquids and post surgery 2 weeks more of full liquids and after my 2 week check which is this December 9, I can start my purees. I am not drinking enough fluids :( I am doing horrible with my Protein and my Water. I tried but I get tired of drinking the same stuff over and over. I am trying different Protein Shakes to see if that helps but I get tired of them easily. I am feeling weak with no energy :(. I get really sad because this whole liquid diet makes me sick. I want to try something in puree but I need to wait till my 2 weeks check. I know is very important to follow my surgeon's instruction because I don't want to be back in the hospital due to an infection in my staple line or whatever. But I am seriously really tired of having broths ,jello etc :( I tried to make them in different ways, bought them. I been VERY strong on cooking for my husband and 2 year old regular foods and not even thinking of try the regular food. I KNOW this is all in my head. I really NEED some support and help now. I am scared I won't do good with my sleeve :frown5: :frown5: :frown5: :frown2:
