Hi Mark!! I'm in Sachse and waiting for my surg date... Good luck next week!! I went to your bands website and had a thought, How will we know which "band" you are refering to when you post? lol Any way, I'll be thinking about you this week and hopefully you will up and jammin soon.

Judy, I'm having my surg done at the Plano surg center with Dr. Cribbins. Who is your dr?

I also have UHC, it took 12 days from visit with the surgeonto get my approval letter and then 3 weeks to get my surg date. That only left me with 1 week to say good bye to all my favorite foods!! lol Good luck!! A lot of your approval depends on what your EMPLOYER has written into their benefit package. Iwas lucky that hubby's has weight loss surg as a priority!!

Kathy, I hope you are feeling better this afternoon!! I don't mean to be ignorant but what is PB? Peanut Butter is the only thing I know of that is called PB.. lol I have got to learn all these new terms!!!! Keep us up on how you are feeling, and I loved the Pic you are much braver than most of us!!

Dr. Cribbins in Plano, Very nice man. My hubby had hernia surg a few years ago that he did so I already "knew" of him...

OK guys..I'm putting it out here...We can have an out door movie night at my house. I have a HUGE yard and made a movie screen that we show movies on throughout the summer and late spring. It cannot be a racy, or voilent movie since it is out side and allthe neighborhood kids usually end up watching it also... I live in Sachse, north east of Dallas.... let me know and we can plan a Saturday night movie , Bring your lawn chair and anymunchies ( and bug spray if the mesquitos are back this year...)

Debby, I'm in north Texas, Sachse actually which is a suburb of Dallas. Where are you? Now we can support each other through this... Where did you get your weight tracking thing that is with your signature??? I need to get one of those!! So I can see ho much I've lost. I have also decided to get a box of large paperclips, for every pound I loose I add 1 to the chain untill I have enough to hang in the bedroom... Just something visual for me to see the numbers...

Val, So glad you did better after 2nd surg. Are you still able to stay hydrated?? Let us know how you are doing...

Hi guys!! I have my surg scheduled May 6th....I'm a nervous wreck!!! I am so excited I can hardly contain myself. I have been going through my closet this week trying to find any of my "skinny" clothes (for me that is only a size 18 or 20) so I will have a couple of things to wear, Not much luck in that department though..I've been a size 22 for about 9 years and had gotten rid of most of my old clothes, so I guess I'll be hitting the thrift stores.. anybody know a good one in the Garland, Richardson Plano area??

OK Guys... I got my surg date all set up.. May 6th!!! I can hardly believe this is happening so fast!!! Well actually not that fast, I've been trying for almost 2 years to get approved. But now that I have new insurance it is happening fast. I am SOOO excited!!

Thanks Kathy!! I am very excited and nervous at the same time!! I haven't told may people about doing this just incase the ins. turned me down..Now.....Look out!! I'm gonna be blabbing it all over the place!! lol

Dell, Friday was the best day of the year for me --so far--- I rec'd my approval letter from United Health care!! I am SOOOO excited!! I called my sister crying (she called me a sap of course and then started crying also) I faxed the letter to my surgeons office because they had not gotten their copy yet,a nd Monday I am supposed to call and schedule the surg. I could be banded by this time next month!! It only took 12 days from the time Dr. Cribbons office submitted the paperwork untill United Healthcare sent the approval letter. Have you heard anything yet?? Do you know what our next step is after we get approved? When do I start the liquid diet??? So many questions!! Keep me informed of your status...I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. Maybe I'll see you ar Dr. M's office one day.

Hi Dell, I am also working with Dr. Maese and Dr Cribbons as the surgeon to get mine approved. I've had the stress test, all the blood work, the sleep study (that was interesting) and the psyche eval. So far so good, now I am just waiting to get approved.... Which surgeon are you using? Dr. Maese's office has ben very helpful for me and I just LOVE him!! Good luck and just keep bugging your insurane and your employer to cover this, In the long run they will save tons of $$ by not paying for us when we get diabetes!!

Congratulations on your birthday present to yourself!! I have NO advice for you on the liquid diet, I have not gotten to that point yet. Good luck this week!!

Hi all I'm new here and just begining my search to find out about this procedure. I am , like most people I suspect, concerned about cost. How do you research the best dr and best cost? I need to loose about 130 lbs and told my hubby that I wanted this surg for my 40th birthday.

Has anyone with cigna been approved for this procedure? What did you do to get approved? Any advice from someone in Texas would be great!! Thanks

Letha, Why did yu have to be rebanded? How common is it to need rebanding?
