I am so glad that I read your reply Kirsten!! I have been feeling really depressed about the fact that I am 1 month post op, lost weight initally but now feel like I am gaining it all back because I can eat anything I want. I have my first fill June 15, maybe I should call the surg and see if he can do it sooner???.... Thanks so much for the incourgament to Debbie, it helped me also!! -
OK Guys!!! It is only a couple of week away!!! MOVIE NIGHT AT CASA MIEROW (that's my last name) I still need a movie title to get for the night. So far it looks like comedy is in the lead so now give me some titles!!! I will start a new thread about this today with address and directions... I'm excited about this!! Just remember to bring your bug spray, I will have my torches out but they do not get rid of the mosquitos like I thought they would.... See every one on June 25th in my yard

Hey Mysty, The psych eval was teh easiest part of the whole process!! If you are going to Psy-Med they will give you the questionaire that asks the same question 200 times, 200 different ways, then they will talk with you for a few minutes. You have to go back a 2nd time to have your results visit. I spent more time waiting than I did speaking with the councellor. She was VERY nice and you could tell that she deals with over weight people all the time. She never belittled me or made me feel like a big fat looser (like a marriage councellor did when I went to him, now my marriage is over...HUMMM I wonder if he had been more kind and not so consumed with the fact that I am fat if we would have kept going and worked out some issues...) any way.. Go to the eval, don't stress over it, I did enough of that before mine for both of us. Good luck and keep us posted!!

Hey mom, I too had that same pain!! After a dose of liquid tylenol, it was tons better!!! My Dr. sais the same thing as Porc, it is just our bodies healing. The reason it is worse on the left is because that is where they had to do the most work, inserting the band and getting the port in place. Just take it easy for a day, take your pain med and it will feel better. As far as the slowweight loss....I am also discouraged!! I keep reading about all the other bandsters who are loosing double what I have....I just hope that after my first fill I start to see the other side of 200.... Let us know how you are doing!!

I'm righ there with you guys about feeling old!!! My oldest son will graduate on Friday!!! I remember when I graduated from high school and my mom WAS old!!! ( she was 41 and I am 40--But I SWEAR she was old and I'm not) haha

I love hearing that my child is not the only one who does crazy things!! My 9 year old son decide to give himself a reverse mohawk last week, The only problem is he used the dog's face clippers, they are about 2 inches wide, and started right in the front, whe he got about 3 inches back, shaved right to the scalp, the clippers got stuck in hi shair so he had to go get help from big sister. She was laughing so hard she could barely get them out of his hair!!! Now he has a 2x3 inch bald spot right smack dab in the front!!! Arent kids fun???

My 14 year old daughter and i watched the show lastnight and all I could do was keep telling her how unrealistic that whole wedding was!! Who really has the $$ to buy and furnish a house for a wedding gift?? And what about her getting to decorate the house with her taste?? And no regular person could have gotten that picture...PLLLLEEEASSE!!!! OK the reception, Who would have the native dancers there. You could definately tell they were not footing the bill!! No body has a wedding out of town and has that many family members and friends come to it if they have to pay for themseles. Can we say free vacation??? Or more approprialely, Can we say the network was a great 'daddy warbucks' for them and their family and friends?? OK so I'm a little jaded about this whole thing. I just think there are a LOT of things that could have been done with that much $$ to help people who really need it. How many women are trying to break away from an abusive relationship but canot afford to support them selves, how many kids do not get medical attention because of $$ OK enough of my soap box..SORRY!! On a positive note, I was impressed that she had a pretty dress that was modest!! Kudos to Amber for that one!!

hey Queen, I had surg on a Thursday, out of hospital on Friday, went to church Sunday, back to work on Monday... You will do fine!!! I was actually amazed at how easy this has been. Today I am having some problems though, I lifted some things lastnight that I should not have and now am in pain!! So much so that I stayed home from work so I could rest and take pain med... Hope you do as well as I have, you will be surprized how easy it is!!

Porc, I'm so glad that Dr. K said it was nothing!!! Are you feeling any better yet? I stillhave one area that is VERY uncomfortable especially when I wear something with a waist band on it. It seems to be getting better every day but is still painful at times... So Lisa where do you live? I live in the Dallas suburbs. I'm sure there are some great thrift stores around here but I haven't gone looking for them yet I have started eating soft foods, My surgeon said I culd start eating rally tender meat now so I have tried...I actually feel like nothing has been done. I have had no problems eating anything and as of Tuesday of last week I have started being hungry. I don't think my surgeon pt anything in my band when he first put it in and I do not go in untill June 15 for my next appointment. I hope he gives me a fill at that time so I will feel like I do not need to eat!!! I am trying to eat very small amounts of food but this is REALLY hard!!! Especially when I'm so hungy my co-workers can hear my tummy growl..... actually that part is pretty funny!! lol

should i or shouldn't i???
bubblesstina replied to juju's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Juju, Heres the great thing about the band, you don't give up eating!!! You just give up eating SO MUCH!!! the advantage to the band over bypass isthat you still get to eat all those things you like you get full QUICKLY and have to stop. I have also found that I do not have a desire for all the stuff I used to crave. Granted, I'm only 2 weeks post op but so far.... Keep researching your options, talk to your Dr. and come ask us all the questions you need answers to. Good luck on your journey!! -
OK, so how is everyone else loosing so much more than I am post op??? I am THRILLED with my 10 post op pounds but also a little green.... Porc, WHAT IS UP!!!! I also had so much pain last week that I could hardly move for a couple of days, thankfully mine was not so bad that I had to go to the hospital.... Let me know what Dr. K says today. I am WORRIED about you!! We were doing soooo good, I hate to hear that you are in that much pain!! Isn't that lortab wonderful when you need it??haha Have a wonderful day all!!
-
Hi all fellow May bandsters!! I feel like I have been away for so long even though it has only been 1 week.... I went for my first postop appointment on Tuesday May 17, I had lost 10 pounds since my surg!!! YIPPEE!! 10 pounds in 12 days...I was very excited about that!! I am eating small amounts of regular food, not very much though because I am scared to eat to much. Ihave not had that stuck feeling I keep hearing about...I hope I never do. Hope all are doing well... Porcelain, how are you doing??
-
any other movie takers out there???

Two week followup and I feel great!
bubblesstina replied to BeckyinTexas's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
WOW!!! That is so cool.... How many sizes have you changed with that 28 pounds? -
Porc, I'm so with you on this!!!! I also am sick of the Isopure. Lastnight I cheated thouh!! I went to a friends house and she had dinner for all of us-she did not know I had the surg already- so I ate 2 spoons of potato. It was SOOOOO good, and i am not usually a pototo lover... Stay strong for both of us!!! Have you weighed yet? I do not have a scale so I do not know if I've lost any yet..
-
I'm with Letha, Walk, Walk, and then Walk some more!!! Like most people my port site is the only area that I can honestly say has any painbut liquid tylenol has taken care of that. I was lucky enough to be able to go back to work on Monday when I had surg on Thursday. The only poblem I've had was that I was hit right on my port incision and that caused quite a bit of pain. Other than that....a sprained ankle is worse than this has been!!!
-
I cannot believe how much I miss chewing of all things to miss.... Maybe I'm just extra weird..lol
-
OK Kathy, so it's ok for the rest of us to eat jello after reading your deathbed posts, but YOU are not going to eat it again...hummm....Makes me wonder......Maybe I should also avoid those tostitos chips you love so much!!! hahaha
-
Hey Kathy, I'm still afraid to to try Jello after your experience!!! What do you think, should I give it a try? How weird is that going to be, chewing my jello??? I am still loving my Soup though!!!! Banded 1 week ago TODAY!!! so far no PBing.....now I've just jinxed myself.
