I had surgery with Dr Kelly three months ago and my sister a year ago with him. I went through Omar and my experience was just great. I am down 35lbs and my sister has been at goal for almost a year. Dr Kelly is just a great and compassionate surgeon. My sister had a drain, but I did not. I am not sure why the difference. I had my surgery on a Friday and was back to work on Wednesday. Only my sister, husband and parents know we have had the surgery. After years of gaining/losing this was a great alternative for me. It feels great to have success! All my best to you.

August Sleevers Where Are You? Check In Please!
OFFTHEFENCE replied to Lucabelle1313's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved August 31st. Started at 194 Now am 166 I am walking now, but now that I am 6 weeks out I need to do more since I have been stuck at 166 for almost 3 weeks. I do get hungry, but just a small amount of food satisfies me. I feel great! I am wondering how I function on such a low calorie intake, but I have great energy. I am so glad I did this. I went out to dinner last night and have leftovers for two days. -
Telling Wveryone Or No One
OFFTHEFENCE replied to Mich grand's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I only told a few people...husband, sister, mom & dad. Had my surgery 8/31/12 and have lost 24lbs and no one has said a thing at work. It must be that I am still wearing my same old saggy clothes. I see no problem with keeping it to yourself. Good Luck! -
I will be off to Tijuana to have my surgery on 8/31. I am taking my sister who had the surgery exactly one year ago with Dr Kelly. I traveled with her for her surgery and she will travel with me this time. After watching my sister for the past year and her great success (she is at goal) I decided it was my turn. I know what to expect and have no qualms about Tijuana or Dr Kelly. Her surgery took 38 minutes and she was up and walking around within a few hours. The Hotel Lucerna was fabulous and had the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on in a hotel. FYI, there is a Starbucks right across the street and although I won't be enjoying it, my sister will. We took walks everyday around the area until we left. I had the best fish tacos and now she will get to have them! If anyone will be there on 8/31, please post.

Dr Kelly On 8/31
OFFTHEFENCE replied to OFFTHEFENCE's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Hi All, I just came home yesterday from surgery with Dr Kelly in Tijuana. This may sound weird, but this was one of the funnest "vacations" I've had. I met the two women who had surgery that same day and we all rode from the airport to Tijuana getting to know each other. Surgery was scary, but all came out ok. Took about 40 minutes. I was up and walking the halls with the other girls that night. I did have some breathing issues after surger (coughing), but was given a couple of treatments and all fine now. Dr Kelly is sooooo professional and comforting. I would highly recommend him. The hospital clean and friendly. Companion beds are much better than when I was a companion a year ago. My incisions look great and I am back to work today sipping my Water. Absolutely no hunger. After discharge from the hospital we were all taken to Angeles Hospital for the leak test....we all passed! Then Omar, our driver, took us to the restaurant across from the Lucerna and treated us all to a bowl of broth. I had no trouble sipping it slowlly. Then wel were taken to the Lucerna. This is a fabulous hotel. Omar made sure we had all our meds, and a bag full of juice, water, tea, Jello, etc. This was nice so we didn't have to go out and get it ourselves. Sunday we walked about 1/2 mile to a shopping center and back then later in the day Omar took us to buy souveniers. We received free pedicures in our room on Sunday also then just hung out by the pool and talked with another patient and his family. If you feel good after surgery, are with great people, in a beautiful location it's like a vacation! -
