    People robbed at the recovery...

All doctors have complications and they abound in the USA too. I don't know where you get your facts "second rate staples, medical practices, medical assistants" because in my experience as both a Nurse Practitioner and an Almanza patient that is not true. I had an excellent experience there as did multiple friends and people I met there. The staff in the surgery center were RNs and very well informed. I verified every drug, had multiple conversations with the OR staff, the aneshesiolgist, Dr Almanza and the recovery staff. I had my own sleeve in July and then returned last week with a friend. Yes, there are risks - but get the facts before you make accusations.
  2. I remember you now (funny friend who had the hots for Christian). I am glad you have done well. Keep up the good work! Kristy (the NP who came with John)

  3. Servano is an excellent RN. He was an RN for the VA in California before returning to Mexico. He not only runs the Recovery House during the day but he also works for about 4 hours at night in the Surgi-center. I had him with my sleeve in July and then met up with him again this week when I took my friend for his sleeve (Fendo, we were there the same time as you- I am trying to think of who you were - I was the NP who was with John). I am very pleased with Dr Almanza and all his staff. I have no reservations whatsoever and as an Emergency Department NP, I looked at the whole set up with medical eyes. They do an excellent job and I will return for plastics.

    Attention Dr. Almanza patients

I has my sleeve with Dr Almanza on July 25th with no problems. I then returned to Tijuana this week with my friend who had his done on Tuesday 9/6. All went well for him. I did not know about the robbery until today but it is interesting that I definitely noticed higher security at the Recovery House this time. Doors and gates were locked and I just thought it was weird in the middle of the day when it had not been like that before. The staff is excellent - I will return there for plastics in a year or so.

    incision picture

Hiccups, sneezing, runny nose may mean that you are full. Caused from the vagus nerve stimulation. You look like you are healing well. I am surprise at how long they are leaving the drain in. Maybe that is standard in the USA, I dunno. I had mine removed 48 hours after surgery.

    embarrassing but i need help

I agree with the previous poster. Do not waste any money on OTC products. You need an evaluation anyways. These are a precurser to cervical cancer and a vaginal exam is in order. If they are all external, they will be easy to treat, most the time.
  7. I am 9 days post op - sleeved on 7/25 in Tijuana. I went to the dentist less than 24 hours after my surgery - rode in a van, walked about two blocks, and had a tooth pulled. I had not had any pain meds since early am when I left the surgery center. When I returned back to the Recovery House, I had 30 mg of Toradol (antiinflammatory/pain reliever - not a narcotic) and that was only because my mouth hurt. I have not had any pain meds since. I am walking 2 miles a day and began that on day 4. I definitely have some fatigue and it is a constant effort to sip, sip, sip to stay hydrated. Especially in summer heat. I am not hungry and I have to remind myself to eat. I am not getting more than 600 calories in per day and about 50 - 70 grams of that are Protein (shakes mainly as I am still on pureed). Piece of cake for me, really is. I am 52 and my starting wt was 240, lost 17 and day of surgery I was 223. I will say though, I have always been moderately active and I did increase my exercise before my surgery.
  8. Hang in there. Get in on the Facebook Vertical Sleeve sites. They are great support. Check out Waningwoman.com

    5 days post op

DSUA, I am 7 days post op. Are you dehydrated? Are you still on clear liquids? I think this is normal, all though I must say I feel well, though a bit fatigued if I do not get my calories. Are you in any support groups? If not, I highly suggest you go on Facebook (you can always establish an anonymous name under another email) and join the group Gastric Sleeve Support Group. It is very active and several of us are newbies. Once you get on that group (which is open and can appear in your personal newsfeed - thus no confidentiality unless a fake name) then there are several other resources on FB linked through that support group. I find support is the biggest thing for success and doing it on line will allow it to happen 24/7. My advice - sip, sip, sip. Walk, walk, walk. Get some Protein in. If you are still on clear stuff than you can buy some protein Water which does help and of course some carbs at this early stage. Kristy Valentine
